    Didn't work for me 😔 lol. It went a funny shape but I turned it into like... A Dutch pour type of thing instead now I love it lol

      I'm sorry it didn't work out how you originally hoped, but I love that you were happy with the end result! Some of the common reasons I have issues with this technique are: 1) the paint is too thick so it doesn't move across the canvas smoothly, 2) I need to pour more paint on the background of the canvas so my rings can smoothly move, or 3) I waited too long to start tilting after pouring so the paint got a little too dry/tacky in some areas and doesn't move well. Hopefully that will help for next time!

    Thank you for being human ❤️, sometimes paint has a mind of its own 🤣 great content, keep it up! PS. this content is better than most by far and a better technique! But paint does what it does and I love that you had one you didn't care for at first, that makes you a true artist ❤️

      Thank you so much 😀 That is so kind of you to say! The paint definitely has a mind of its own 😉

    I don’t say this lightly my dear.....this is by far THE best acrylic geode tutorial I’ve seen on TH-cam(and I’ve seen well over 100 of them!;). I’m sufficiently motivated & inspired for at least 24-48hrs....so thanks🙏🏻😉

      I agree most of them just mixed stuff they don’t tell you what they’re mixing it with they don’t tell you ratios or anything this is the best one I’ve seen as well

    I like the way you teach, Brooke the colors were very geo-dish.

      Ooh I love that! I've done some mini geodes and it totally works on a smaller scale, just do smaller puddles. I hope it's super fun!

      Thank you so much! As you can see from the video, it is still far from perfect ;) But I really love the results so I just keep coming back to it! If you enjoy painting, I hope you give it a try sometime :)

    Thank you so much for making this video!! It was super helpful! I definitely know a big mistake I’ve been making....my puddles are way too big and I’m not doing enough of them! And I think my paints are too thick. I can’t wait to try it again now that you’ve taught me the right way to do it! Thank you!!!! 😊

      For what I usually do, yes, I do the technique shown in this video for most of my pours.

    So excited to try this!! Is your white background mixed with floetrol too or is it just acrylic paint?? Thanks so much for making these videos!! :)

    • @ArtbyBrooke
      @ArtbyBrooke  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yay! Yes, my white background is basically the same mixture as my other paint :) Sometimes I make it a little thinner if I want to make sure it flows well, but not a lot thinner (don't want it to be too watery). You are welcome! Good luck and I hope you have a ton of fun painting!!

    • @ArtbyBrooke
      @ArtbyBrooke  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! It is very iridescent and beautiful when dry, so I was hoping it would look nice in this. It turned out to be pretty heavy so it didn't seem to make a big difference. You don't have to have it for the tutorial :)

  • @thewalkingparenthesis1996

    can you use other medium other than canvass? like board or paper?

    • @ArtbyBrooke
      @ArtbyBrooke  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Paint pouring uses a lot of wet medium (the paint and pouring medium mixture) so you would want to choose a base item that won't warp or tear. Unfortunately I don't think paper would work well, and I know from experience that canvas board will warp. Some people still use canvas board to practice and they just know it will warp and they may try to reflatten it once it is dry. I have successfully used wood cutouts, cardboard shapes from Michaels that I prepped with gesso, and glass (vases and cups). You can experiment with other things as well! I hope this helps :)

    • @ArtbyBrooke
      @ArtbyBrooke  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've also done one using dollar store materials too, but I think in the long run, the materials I use in this video end up being cheaper. It just depends on availability in your area: th-cam.com/video/rpvV4UXdjfU/w-d-xo.html
