Hey girl, love your work. My husband and I retired and moved into a camper six years ago, and we can relate to less stuff equals more happy. I’m a nurse, and I wanted to let you know that you’re speaking a little bit incorrectly about your heart question. Your heart rate is how fast your heart beats, and your blood pressure is how much your blood vessels expand when your blood goes through, in other words how hard your heart is beating. If your father is diagnosed with high blood pressure, that is the latter. If they said that your heart rate was elevated, that means it was beating fast as if you were frightened or upset. That is quite possible after an injury. That really has nothing to do with blood pressure, however. You can monitor your heart rate just by putting your hand on a pulse spot and counting how many times it beats in one minute. Blood pressure can also be elevated after injury, but if it was your blood pressure they were commenting on then you are right, you need to look after it and make sure it’s doing correctly as well. You can buy a blood pressure device in any pharmacy. They make ones where you don’t have to do it like a medical person does, they’re much easier. Look for one that measures in your upper arm, not your wrist or any other place. The ones that measure in those smaller places are not as accurate. You should just Google the correct numbers for your heart rate and blood pressure. The stress reduction that you’re practicing is good for both.
