I’ve recently came back to this bag after many months of trying other bags, and boy do I miss the sheer quality of the materials and build. A couple of things I would change are… - slightly more dimension in the front pockets - an external quick access zippered pocket at the back I carry an 11 inch iPad Pro which fits perfectly in one of the front pockets, but a better internal compartment for up to a 14” laptop would be great. Despite those small things, I do still absolutely love this bag.
Thanks for that! I completely agree with your assessment. Those minor tweaks would have made this pack significantly more useful to me. I am actually using my Barbarossa today and I wish it had more volume in the front pockets and a grab handle in the back. I bet you feel great while wearing this thing lol
I have this bag and the main gripes I have are the lack of internal structure that makes inserting a laptop or tablet difficult, and the straps to secure the flap seem like they could’ve been designed better. I also don’t like how the leather loop to hold the shoulder strap doesn’t have any friction. The materials used are really lovely, but improvements can be made to make it more functional. I do like the way it hugs your body when worn.
You definitely bring up valid points. I think this pack, like the Barbary and perhaps even the Pequod are form over function. They’re beautiful, but not super functional. I tend to use my Genghis when going into meetings or visiting high-end clients.
Thanks for your review! To me the biggest downside of this bag: it looks really huge when somebody is wearing it. It doesn’t matter how big you are, it’s way to big and looks a little bit strange.
I can see that. It’s definitely a unique looking pack on a person. The Genghis looks big because the volume is stretched length-wise across the bag rather than expanding outward from the front. I think a symptom of this design is why only a few pockets can be effectively utilized, everything else needs to be flat. Good eye, Karl.
Doing a great public service with your Bedouin reviews. Thanks man, love the bags
Thanks, Cam. I really appreciate that. No a lot of Bedouin reviews out there, it’s a shame. I have the Delireis video coming up soon!

Great review. Love the Cobra buckles and that strap. You do look like a rockstar man!

How tall are you? I am stuck between this and the barbary
Whole table in front of you and you chose to chuck everything on the ground 😂 you do you brother. Great review.
I usually have a chair next to me off screen, and the table has a lot of stuff going on behind the camera. Interesting detail to point out, though.
