Lovable? Lmao Tortoises are some of the most standoffish & hateful animals a person can have. They're worse than feral cats. I own Tortoises, & they honestly suck as pets. They're incredibly mean to everyone they meet, they never want anything to do with anyone, & all they do is shit, eat, sleep, & hide. The internet has convinced people that owning a Tortoise is like having a big, slow dog, but it isn't. It's awful. I genuinely regret ever putting thousands of dollars into these cruel, angry creatures. I take good care of them every day, as if they were my own children, & still they just run away, hide, won't ever come to you when you hold out your hand, refuse to eat, refuse to soak without throwing a fit, & nothing is ever good enough for them. Trust me when I say, Tortoises are nothing but cruel, angry, selfish little a-holes that would happily watch this dude burn even after everything he has done for them.
Reminder that tortoises are supposed to have near perfectly round shells. Bumps mean that the tortoise was dehydrated for a significant time enough to affect the shell’s development process
yeah this guy has a lot of examples of neglected tortoises that he rescues! he also said that too little sunlight can also cause pyramiding. very sad to see that people don’t know how to handle those beautiful creatures properly..

Growing up in Las Vegas, we turned our dog run that ran the length of the backyard into a run for our 14 tortoises. We got the tunnels started when they were babies, but they made a really intricate tunnel system as the got older. They were really cool pets that we ended up giving to the springs preserve when they were around 20 years old. It was a great childhood growing up with 30+ pets of different kinds of species. Definitely taught my siblings and i discipline, hard work and to respect all living creatures.
They are so cute Glad they are safe & cared for with lots of TLC & nourishing food. They are truly able to live their best tortoise lives I’m a huge Cat Daddy & Doggo Nut but love animals especially birds, squirrels, chipmunks, & rabbits. Reptiles & such never interested me much but I do thinks tortoises & turtles are amazing. These baby tortoises are just adorable & fascinating. I love the little ecosystem that you built them which is ostensibly a perfect mix for them.
I’m not trying to be bossy but please make sure you always rinse bagged precut veggies like lettuce and baby carrots and stuff. They’re sprayed/covered with a chemical preservative to make them last in the bag. These tiny babies are soooo cute ❤❤❤
do you have a large garden? can you supply them with a place to climb and burrow? can you feed them actuallly you can if you go to get groceries and can you supply them with water? if so you can keep them.
OK. These guys are the cutest thing I've seen in ages! Between them and these shorts of puppies, kittens and baby ostriches, I don't know what I'm gonna do with all the cuteness!
