Recently I been thinking ab doing the GHE again...I did it ab 6 years ago or longer...it was a big deal n there was a community of woman that did it and post their results on this (GHE) page...Well I did it as well n let me tell u ..my hair grew like no other....I work from home so I would do it for my 8 hrs of working...I use castor oil as a moisturizer n my hair thicken n grew like weeds ....
My hair loved the GHE! I installed (self) some indiv crochet locs yesterday and will main them untilvthe end of May! I loose braid then twisted the rest of the way down. I installed the locs thru the braids I did. I only haile 15 locs and they are in a bun. I wear beautiful headwraps each day so this is going to work foe me until the end of May! I will protect my hair from the hair sun for sure.
Please don't do this! This is how you get fungal infections on the scalp. I never had scalp issues (itchy scalp with dandruff) until after I used the GHE method back in 2014. I mean think about it-bacteria and fungi love dark, damp warm environments. You're better off doing the baggy method where the ends of your hair are covered but not your whole head.
Same thing happened to me when I did this a few years ago. Now I'm still suffering from scalp dermatitis and fungal acne. I also kept deep conditioner in overnight. I never had issues with my scalp before doing this.

I do this everyday for more than 8 months and Im fine. I use coconut and castor oil to my scalp and grease to my ends. I wash 2 times a month and do a protein treatment. The growth and ticknesse is insane. I want to follow this method for more 6 months or until I achieve waist length (sorry for my bad english, it’s not my language). Xoxo

I moisturize my hair everyday before going to work in the mornings but the dryness persists (I live in Jamaica W.I) I want to try that method but I am wondering if will remove the dye 😮
Yep - I never used to have scalp issues (dandruff and itchy scalp) until after I did the GHE method back in 2014. Bacteria and fungi love dark, damp warm environments. You're just going to cause issues in the long run. Same with deep conditioning your hair overnight. It's a no from me 🙅🏾♀️

You probably did it too many times. It is suggested to do only once or twice a week if you have extremely dry hair

Did you try using grease like blue magic?
Dye are known to cause really dry hair. Do you do moisturizing deep conditioning treatments? Does are very necessary when you have colored hair.
My 4b has massive shrinkage...lol 😂 i do this 2 times a week. Hair is growing back❤

You should only do once a week. Many people abuse the method doing it daily. That will cause mold issues
