    I think this is a brilliant bike and geometry. Kudos to Norco for making a great bike for taller riders who don't want nimble

    Thats a great review, honest feed back with pros/cons as all bikes have, lots of online review's get sponsorship and it shows in there feed back. This is one of my options for a new ride in 2022, I'm 6'3 110kg, my current bike Trek Lt9(mullet) has 475mm cs , this sight would feel alittle more nimble? I look forward to your review on the 2022 Giant reign, lots of positive changes on this new model. Subscribed :-)

    Great in depth review. What are your thoughts on this vs the Range VLT?

    • @FlowMountainBikeYouTube
      @FlowMountainBikeYouTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question!
      Both bikes use the same frame, with a different linkage and shock providing the difference in travel. On top of that, the Range VLT gets a coil shock, a bigger fork and a heavier rear tyre, so it'll be close to a kilo heavier than the Sight VLT.
      If you're not concerned by weight and you're after more of a self-shuttle downhill bike, the Range VLT is the obvious choice. For that kind of application, you might as well have as much travel as possible right?
      If you're less likely to strap on a full face helmet and goggles, the Sight VLT is more approachable with its air-sprung suspension, lower travel and slightly lighter weight. It's capable and comfortable, and a very good technical climber. And it'll deliver masses of confidence on the descents thanks to that long wheelbase, the aggressive tyres and its overall stability.
      As mentioned in the review, it's not as agile as other e-MTBs in this travel bracket though, like the mullet-equipped Levo, e160 and Spectral:ON, which we'd argue are easier to ride on a wider variety of trails. So it depends on what you're looking for really.

    At 3:51, how did you get a Dissector in maxxterra with doubledown?!? The only options with double down on their website are listed as being in the maxxgrip compound. Is that like an e-bike specific OEM thing, or are they available for retail? Bc I need that shit

    • @FlowMountainBikeYouTube
      @FlowMountainBikeYouTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Presumably it's an OEM-only option at the moment, but I would expect Maxxis will release it as an aftermarket option at some point in the future. [Wil]

    Range anxiety, loving my Sight VLT A1 (with a couple upgrades), however went for the 540 battery, and must confess even though I always get home with some juice left in it, I do get the anxiety, LOL

    I’m between the Sight c2 and the Orbea Rise H15. Any thoughts. Have you reviewed the Rise?

    • @FlowMountainBikeYouTube
      @FlowMountainBikeYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว

      We certainly have Mike! Here's the review on the Orbea: flowmountainbike.com/tests/orbea-rise-review/
      Quite a different bike to the Norco Sight VLT in terms of weight, power output, geometry and handling. It may come down to how much support you're after, as the Rise EP8-RS motor has been de-tuned to produce less power and a more progressive delivery of that power. [Wil]

    • @FlowMountainBikeYouTube

      I certainly did mate! It's a size Large so it's not what I would pick personally for my 175cm height (I'd go for the Medium), but thanks to the adjustable travel dropper post, I was able to still ride it despite my short legs. [Wil]

    • @FlowMountainBikeYouTube
      @FlowMountainBikeYouTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed - even just visually the ZEB would be a better match for the huge frame. That would see the Sight VLT getting even closer to the Range VLT though, so I can see why Norco has tried to separate the two platforms with the suspension spec. [Wil]

    Why do bike brands commercialize the carbon frames? I've rode three carbon frames(Norco, Trek, Rocky Mountain), and all have...failed. Either the headtube or the seat tube/bottom bracket junction fractures or worse...smashed. That resulted in a broken shoulder, elbow, a few ribs, and fingers, and still managed to hike-out to my truck. I really laugh how reviewers, make $5 grand, sound like pocket change to spend. What's worse is carbon is very noisy, and frame life is pathetic. And judging from TH-cam videos, most reviews are from getting a bike for a day or two. A test-bike. there is not many honest owner reviews. And many bike brands opting for the e-bikes, are finding the market not so profitable, as prices on all the bikes are radically increasing.
