I just noticed Stolas takes his crown/hat off when he tells Blitzø he can stay if he wants to, as a sense of showing his vulnerability, but then puts it back on when Blitzø doesn’t take him seriously.

Stolas got ptsd from being mistreated and yelled at by everyone he knows in his family when blitz started yelling at him and not taking him seriously.
Blitz got ptsd from being abandoned again. Him looking up with a eager and shy smile, wiggling his tail and nodding saying: “i can always do better” was like a son telling his dad not to give up on him like blitz’s dad’s dismissal on his existence
notice when Blitzø was screaming at Stolas, Stolas was flinching and hugging himself tighter every time. They pointed out that its likely Stolas was having flashbacks to when Stella would scream at him. Blitzø is literally triggering Stolas's PTSD from his abuse from her, and thats why Stolas kept trying to get away from him.

That final scene was honestly SO painful because it showed their biggest problems.
Stolas while genuine in his feelings, unintentionally controls the conversation and automatically assumes what Blitz is thinking while not actually ASKING what he wants, and Blitz doing everything that he can to completely ignore any real conversation about their issues to avoid getting hurt, and completely lashing out when he can't.
This results in Stolas thinking that his first friend and love only saw him as a privileged prince despite all his efforts to show him that he always saw them as equals, and Blitz once again adding another person to the list of people who he genuinely loves but pushed away because he was too afraid to show it, right as he was finally allowing himself to be vulnerable.
You know they're eventually going to make up, but it's definitely going to take them both jumping through A LOT of hurdles before their relationship can even remotely become a healthy one.
i dont see stolas controlling the conversation in any way here. Stolas here just directly addresses how he cant keep doing this and feeling like hes forcing someone to be with him out of obligation to access a resource only he could give. Staying on topic only after blitzo has an item removing any material reliance he has on stolas, he say he still wants blitzo. Now he can get a genuine answer without the grimoire playing any part in the decision. Stolas here is quite literally asking blitzo if he wants to be together so idk what you mean when he isnt actually asking what blitzo wants.
Also i dont think this works as an example of blitzo pushing people away, there is a lot of lashing out but after he stops and listens he tries talking to stolas only to be kicked out. This isnt a pushing people away situation, verosika shows us how blitz acts when he wants to push people away, he returns affection very little and mistreats them so they end up hating him, which again isnt the case here since he tries to resolve thing when they reach a point where he'd normally be left alone

Stolas did everything he could to tell Blitz that he cares for him, he showed him his genuine feelings and tried to have serious conversation about their relationship, again, just to be moked and be treated like a joke. What do you want him to do? If someone doesn't take you seriously or if someone hurt you because their trauma you don't have to tolerate this behaviour. Stolas wanted to see what Blitz think of him and their relationship. Stolas didn't see Blitz taking situation seriously so he left because he already said everything he wanted to say many times

He doesn't even believe his own daughter loves him, he only recently got back one friend who he's probably still getting used to not hating him, so why would he believe this fucking prince loves him? Especially with the insulting nickname (blitzy~), the constant references to sex while never saying anything about loving him, and making constant references to the imbalance of power in their relationship ("my impish little plaything", "you little creatures" etc.)
Blitzø definitely cares about him, but doesn't allow himself to even consider anything else because he can't fuck up his meal ticket. When he realizes things have really changed, he is flabbergasted and gets angry only when Stolas refuses to listen to him.
When Stolas and Blitz are walking down the hall, notice how the portraits are all covered, but revealing only Octavia?

That delivery was MASTERFUL Brandon has an amazing career as a VA if he pursues it post Helluva Boss. We will be watching his career with great interest
I love how Dwayne takes his glasses off at THAT PART. I do the same thing. Sometimes you find yourself in disbelief and your instinct is to take your glasses off to see things without altering.

Given Blitz's past...it's no wonder Blitz didn't react in a happy manner when he received the crystal. He IMMEDIATELY went to "I can do better." He wasn't excited or happy or pleased about the gift. He was confused, and that confusion was compounded by Stolas dragging things out. Then that confusion turned to anger when Stolas wouldn't listen to him. When he walked away. It's good that Stolas knows his limits, but Stolas opened this door, he should've been able to confront these possibilities. Blitz DID deserve a minute to process things.
That wasn't given to him, so of course he lashed out. And because of Stolas' own past, when it comes to yelling, he recoils and doesn't react well to it. But of course, that's how Blitz reacts when he's under pressure. It was set up to fail from the start. This needed to happen. I just hope Viv doesn't entirely gloss over the fact that Stolas is just as much to blame for this fallout as Blitz.
Eh not really stolas literally made it CLEAR that he had feelings for at the end of season 1 ep 7 and on words.....
After stolas hide himself in that episode blitz assumed he was just an embarrassment naughty affair, and after that blitz was to hurt to listen to anything, blitz even said you make it clear you think of me as sex all the time, so blitz, too protect himself he listens to his negative voice so he can’t be hurt and disappointed so he got absolutely slapped and blindsided by stolas wanting a possibility that was impossible and far too good for himself

Then, when the songs play, Blitzo stands up for his friends, but Stolas doesn't stand up for him. All walls are reaffirmed that night when Stolas is ashamed of Blitz.
Then, when they drive to the palace, Stolas invites his inside, saying that Octavia isn't here and he has wine. Stolas just beats around the bush and doesn't think about how his past actions
"Don't act like what we have is anything other than *you* wanting *me* to fuck you, okay. You make that really clear all the time." Stolas doesn't bother correcting Blitz in that assessment. He just watches Blitzo tear up and then sends him off.
The entire series had been Stolas sexualizing everything in public, and not respecting Blitzo when he flat says no. I hate how much of a hypocrite Stolas is with that.
@@jarvontayjohnson3289 Can you give any proper examples of this? Because it's pretty surprising to me that Stolas thinks "so highly" of Blitz, considering what he has SHOWN to us is that he fetishizes Blitz TO BLITZ and in PRIVATE Stolas seems much more understanding (via Just Look My Way).
This might be one of the emotional episodes of the whole show. I like seeing the CHERUBS and the DHORKS agents working together and how they work together despite both of them being relatively naive and not the smartest enemies the IMP gang have faced. That moment between Stolas and Blitz is truly one of the best scenes of the show and brutal with how real it felt. Stolas having true caring feelings for Blitz yet realising that he's outgrown the lustful desire of their relationship and in his time of self reflection he's come to realise Blitz doesn't care about him in the same way. What's even more real is how Blitz processed the "break up" as Blitz deep down inside does care about Stolas but he can't express that love and ever since he's constantly felt like burden to others he loved and genuinely he doesnt deserves love thus his mind goes into an impulsive defensive state where he thinks all he needs is sex and lust with Stolas when he truly wants more than that and in a way the sex with Stolas was closet thing hes had to an intimate emotional relationship in years. Damn the writing in this episode was great 👍
The animation team truly killed it with animated the facial expressions and Brandon Rogers and Bryce Pinkman gave an excellent performance delivering those lines:

I just noticed that Stolas's doubts in the song are thrown back in his face at the end my biggest example being I'll believe him and not the voice that says I'm not enough." When Blitz spits all that venom at him he takes it to heart exactly as he said and listens to Blitz a little two well
THANK YOU. Finally, someone doesn't just see Stolas as the innocent baby. He messed up too. Blitzo is right when he mentions how Stolas has treated him. Never respecting boundries and always talking down to him. Never caring when Blitz says no.
They both messed up, but what really irks me is Stolas being a straight up hypocrite. YOU were the one who made everything about sex. YOU were the one who never took Blitzo seriously. Like, what the actual hell?!

Called him an itty bitty imp in a mocking tone, called him impish little plaything, turned away in shame after being confronted by Asmodeus about their "relationship". And those are just some of the things we've seen Stolas do to Blitz. So of course Blitz wouldn't accept a mere "talk" especially when a lot of their conversations usually revolved around Stolas wanting sex.
You get people making excuses like "oh he got PTSD from Blitz yelling at him" like that is somehow applicable when we have seen nothing at all to suggest this (every single time he more just tunes out Stella's yelling). Or people saying "he ran out of anti-depressants" based on one gag frame early in the episode. Like bruh, Stolas isn't a perpetual victim. He set the terms of this relationship and up until this point has given no clear sign he wants to change it into a regular one and not some favors for favors agreement.

Misinterpreting Stolas' attempt to confess his love to him as the owl just being in it for some sex, Blitzo explodes into pure rage at what he perceives as being manipulated as he pretty much screams at the owl prince of how much of a d*ck move it is to him. Sure he soon realizes that's NOT what Stolas meant nor intended to be like, considering what happened at Ozzie's and the demeaning way Stolas treated him at the start of their arrangement, which is just a few tragic moments from losing his already fragile mental state.
As someone who is on Stolas side, I can still understand why Blitz reacted that why. But Stolas still gave him a choice, yes it was a lot to take in and he should had said it piece by piece. To let it sink in better. But Blitz reaction was also a lot and over the top. Like who would want to continue a conversation when you getting insulted and yelled at? And for the people that said Stolas approach it wrong, how else can he had did it? Knowing Blitz, he would react the same why no matter what. If Stolas broke the agreement, Blitz would had think he was not good enough. If he would to put out his feelings, Blitz would think the sudden change is too much and say he don't have enough time to think.
i dont think you can use the classes as a justification here, you cant use the disparity between imps and royals as an argument against stolas as an individual. would kinda be like fizz ignoring oz showing genuine love for him and concern then saying fizz is justified for saying oz treats him like a imp servant because of the class differences. you cant use a generalization to judge an individual in this case, especially not one youve known for this long. @@ShurouInu I mean, stolas does play into the imbalance with his deafening nicknames in earlier episodes, and he did literally have IMP work for him at one point just because he knew he could. He also literally dismissed blitz like a servant when blitz went off on him, which is exactly what blitz said he would do.
To be fair, how on earth is Blitz suppose to take Stolas' intentions as NOT being for s3x ??? Almost every time Stolas was around Blitz, he was seductive and lustful with him.
Blitzo is not wrong, he probably seen the way Stolas treats his imp butlers while not intentionally cruel, but definitely dismissive and in one instance during Episode 2, where he holds up a butler to get the phone closer to his beak instead of just holding the phone itself. Stolas' interactions with them aren't focused on and that's the point.
Also there's a callback to the last time those two sunglasses peeps appeared.... when they drugged Blitzø and Moxie with hallucination gas, or some shit, and in Blitzø's hallucination, his peers (aka his subconscious) were telling him he was gonna end up pushing everyone away, especially Stolas, due to his own insecurities and inability to let go of the past.

1. On Blitzø mind he just saw himself as stolas’s lil plaything (which he’s said before and yall remember them phone calls 👀)
2. Stolas created that arrangement which solidified that this is only sexual in Blitzø’s mind.
3. We never really get a lot of Blitzø’s feelings nor (solo songs) cause he doesn’t know HOW to express it. His trauma leads him to believe that he doesn’t deserve to be genuinely loved nor in love. All he knows how to express easily is “worry” and anger and the best thing he’s “good” at is sex and killing.
4. It’s easier to sympathize with Stolas cause he can easily express his feelings so WE know he’s been in love with Blitzø for a long time however BILTZØ doesn’t know that.
5. Blitzø also has been saying even to Stolas that he fully believes is just a sexual relationship especially after the Ozzie’s fiasco Stolas didnt tell him otherwise.
6. Stolas had months to process his feelings and can fully express that to Blitzø however, only have came to the process that he may have feelings or at least care for Stolas. So instead of hoping for an answer right then with Blizø probably should have doubled down after Blitzø mistook Stolas for “roleplaying” and gave him time to think.
7. Blitzø should not have yelled at him nor insulted him, cause he knows he don’t mean it but Stolas doesn’t. Stolas was hurt so he sent blizø away.
8. In that last scene Blizø just felt that he wasn’t good enough cause he misunderstood and feels abandoned and Stolas felt like Blitzø never cared but what hurted him the most is that he thinks that Blitzø sees him as an pompous royal not taking into account that his behavior in the beginning could’ve influenced how Blitzø thinking.
Both could’ve done better but with one who knows how to process complicated emotions and the other who only knows how to run away from complicated emotions this was bound to happen.
Also on Blitzø end I 100% believe he wanted Stolas to yell and argue back with him cause that’s how he’s used to fixing things. Like with moxie n fizz they yell, fight it out, then get down to fixing it.
Same, I also think he was yelling due to not only getting his frustrations out because he wasn't able to before seeing as it could cost him losing the book, but because he was so confused as to what Stolas was getting at. They've been doing the arrangement for so long and out of nowhere Stolas confessed to having feelings for him? That would confuse anyone to the point of thinking it was all bs.

Honestly, Blitzo's angry reaction was completely warranted. Stolas waited until a scheduled meeting for something else, and then last-second turned it into a talk about feelings, and without even so much as giving Blitzo time to think about what was happening, outright declared how it was going to be now and demanded an immediate response. That isn't a respectful dialogue, that's an ambush. Stolas said he thought so highly of Blitzo, cared so deeply for him, but then HE was the one to walk away when Blitzo didn't immediately understand that he was being ambushed that Stolas was being serious. Stolas obviously wasn't intending to be so incredibly disrespectful, but he really was... in exactly the unwitting way that a rich, pompous asshole would. Blitzo is an emotionally stunted and abused man, but Stolas is absolutely the one who mishandled this situation.
You're falling in the trap of thinking one of them is more responsible than the other. THey BOTH are. If Stolas had said beforehand the meeting was special (by saying they weren't going to fuck or something else), it would still have stressed Blitz out, or he'd have thought he could not show up since their deal is about sex.
Stolas NEVER pressed Blitz for an answer, Blitz just jumped on the "play this as foreplay" because he panicked in front of Stolas' feelings. After that, Stolas was hurt, so yeah, understandably he didn't want to continue this conversation.
I wouldn't say completely warranted, who wouldn't walk away when someone is yelling and insulting you. They both was in the wrong, Stolas should had laid it out in a way that is easier to process and Blitz didn't had to insult and yelled at him like that. But knowing Blitz no matter how Stolas said it Blitz would had still reacted the same. If he given the stone first, Blitz would had think he wasn't good enough. If he said how he felt, Blitz would think it's all too much and he didn't have time to think.

it's hard to tell who's really in the wrong when both have been damaged all their lives. both are right to feel how they feel but they're also both wrong in some ways. I just can't wait for the next episode! hopefully we get more backstory and healing
There doesn't always have to be someone who's "really in the wrong", oftentimes when things go wrong it's because of miscommunication and both parties messing up. It's a good reflection of how things can be in real life and I think it's sad that a lot of people try to see one of them as the "bad guy" and one as the "victim" when it's just not as clear cut.
I'm really excited for the next episode as well, they just get better and better

I have so much to say about this episode because I love it so much and I'm an artist so I'm seeing it from an artist point of view but if I were to put everything that I feel about this episode then I would be here all day and I would be spamming the comment section 😂 So imma just say this: I can see why Blitzo is so pissed about Stolas suddenly saying that he wishes that he didn't see everything in a sexual way, because Stolas is the one that started this transaction that they had going on and he started it as a sexual thing. Blitzo might be seeing this whole thing as a manipulation tactic.

I think you should watch Sarcastic Chorus' explanation of this interaction with Blitz and Stolas, because dear god Stolas had so much control over how this situation went considering he has control over the relationship basically, but instead the way he plans out the evening is such that it puts Blitz through emotional whiplash. He starts out horny, then starts to worry if something is off with Stolas, instantly goes into panic mode because Stolas asks for the book back permanently without any indication of what is coming, and while he is still in that state of mind gets an info dump on how the Asmodean Crystal works before being given it. Like his line of asking for a minute to think is so valid considering how Stolas just bails on him the moment things don't go to plan (likely because his idea of romance is from telle-novellas that are highly scripted).

You can explain yourself so clearly, but communication still fails if the other person has so many assumptions that they don't believe what you're saying. And then things break down even more when you misinterpret their response because you assume they understood your intentions.
Blitzø hates himself so much that he convinced himself a *long* time ago no one could possibly love him. So if Stolas is saying "I care very much about you," well, there's only a few reasons he would: it's a joke, it's a roleplay, he's mocking him because he's "better than" him, or he actually means it. Since Blitzø can't possibly believe he means it, he goes through the other options in order, confused about what's happening, then frustrated when none of the possibilities seem to get an expected reaction from Stolas.
Meanwhile, Stolas is thinking he explained himself so clearly that Blitzø *must* understand his feelings, so the only reason he'd keep acting like it's about sex is if that's all it is to him. He's not understanding Blitzø's baggage and the mindset it's created. So he dismisses him, thinking he doesn't care.
It's heartbreaking.

I loved how this episode mirrors their path in "The Circus", but with Blitz running to catch up with Stolas instead of the other way around. And even when Blitz arrives with the sack, it's a reverse of when he threw it over the balcony to his father (who SOLD him to Stolas, just to bring back that trauma).
Just quiet visual choices that remind us how long Stolas has had to consider Blitz as a whole person, and he's only now "releasing" him? And he expects Blitz to immediately accept it, grasp what Stolas is doing (not just what he's saying) AND be mentally prepared to process and absorb it? And when he doesn't turn on a dime Stolas takes the choice away from him AGAIN and kicks him out.
I love Stolas, to be clear. He's a wonderful character, and I want him to be happy. He's also a very damaged birdie, who has a lot of his OWN pain and trauma to work through. His assumptions here are understandable, he thinks that Blitz thinks the worst of him because he's cast himself in the role of the "monster" without really internalizing WHY his actions have put him there (among other things he's assuming).
But Blitz has justifiable anger here, and I think him calling Stolas out on his treatment of other imps hits directly where a lot of the power imbalance is, and why, for now at least, this CAN'T be a healthy relationship. Not just the money, or the status, but the way Stolas treats non-Goetia as lesser, just by default. Blitz is an "exception" he's the token imp.
I don't think giving Blitz the crystal was, primarily, a test to see if Blitz wants him. I do think that Stolas finally realized that there was a massive power imbalance, and that he was essentially putting Blitz in the position of sleeping with him or giving up his hard-fought business. Whether or not Blitz enjoyed their sessions, it wasn't really a choice. Stolas has been "allowing" him more excuses to avoid it, but if he had said "You must visit me tonight or I take the book back" Blitz would have gone. See his reaction when he thinks Stolas IS taking the book. The dropping of all of his bravado, replaced with tears and genuine pleading. "I'll do anything!" and when he doesn't really believe the crystal, "I can do better!"
I believe Blitz does have feelings for Stolas, and Stolas does have feelings for Blitz, but have either of them ever really TALKED? Or are they just making assumptions in both directions? When it comes to a moment of crisis, they both default to assuming they aren't enough for the other.
...this got long. I HAVE FEELINGS OKAY? Lol. The way that Blitz assumes he is not enough on his own, without any ties or contracts, hits WAY too close to home for me, so I'm kind of Team Blitz just because I know some of those anxieties, and how they can make you push true affection away because you don't believe it, and then be left in the cold because you weren't given time to trust it. ANYWAY, might be a little biased :p

Also, I get the impression for this reaction that you haven't seen the music video/animated short "Look My Way"? which IS apparently canon. It was posted on Vivziepop's channel some months back. A fan song that was then animated and voiced by the "official" cast/crew. Aside from being beautiful and heartbreaking, and (as always) getting stuck in my head for a month, it gives a lot more context to the crystal, and to Stolas' assumptions here, and I think it might actually be kind of necessary viewing at this point. Some of the things in this episode are alluded to with (it feels like) the assumption that you've seen that as well. I wasn't sure if it was canon before this episode, but it's clear now that it was. Definitely worth a watch (and a reaction would be cool, but even just watch for extra context :) )

The Cherubs logic for what they're doing is very flawed when you've seen Hazbin Hotel and realize those clowns don't even know what gets someone into Heaven, and I'm pretty sure accidentally being a good Samaritan ain't it! 😂😂😂

Wow, so Dhork agents are planning to invade Hell and they got the Cherubs to team up. However, the Cherubs are lying to them being exorcist angels. I can see next season where I.M.P. will have to battle the army of Dhork agents and the Cherubs in order to stop them from destroying the balance. Blitz, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona are going to need help and have an army to stop them. This will be a huge battle that is coming. Lets see how the rest of season 2 plays out. Creating a portal to Hell is really a bad idea because it will cause disasters. The Cherubs got into Hell and failed to realize that Hell is different from what they were taught.
Also, Moxxie, Millie, and Loona vs the Mechsuit Cherubs is a good fight. It shows that the Cherubs didn't have combat training. It was like 3 inexperienced fighters vs 3 experienced fighters. 3 experienced fighters won the fight!

the last those two interacted for more than a minute was in house of Asmodeus where stoles behaved embarrassed to bee seen with blitzo...the next time would be through a text where stoles basically asked for space...in this episode we learn that stoles has been distancing himself for months and now after sorting out HIS emotions does he invite blitzo over... stoles then proceeds to start the conversation in the most horrible way, then course corrects into good news, then confesses his feelings, then immediately shuts down dialogue when he doesn't immediately get the answer he wants, then kicks blitzo out....to look at it from blitz's perspective; the person I am kinda interested in was embarrassed to be seen with me in public and tried to play it off like it did happen, got hurt and distanced themselves for months, called me over without explaining that a serious conversation was going to be had, proceeded to emotionally unbalance me and then confessed their feelings, then them refusing to actually discuss the situation, then kicking me out
what text? when Stolas was in the hospital he asked for Blitz to visit him but he got left on read.

The more I see this scene at the end the more I pickup little details. Like that outburst from Blitzø wasn't specifically meant for Stolas. There is some DEEP rooted trauma on Blitzø's part that he never confronted (or maybe even realized) before. And the signs PTSD from Stolas's abuse at the hands of Stella is just so sad... 2 broken characters coping and expressing in very different ways. Peak storytelling

another good point about what happened is that stolas had a lot of time to think and process this, Blitz didn't, he doesn't know how to process this, EXCPECIALLY NOT give an answer right there and now. He's not used to people genuinenly care about him, having feelings for him.
I woudln't be surprised if next episode (i've heard there's verosika, i haven't watch the trailer, i'm going in blind) she will be the one helping him, seeing he really care about stolas and maybe even getting back on good terms with him (maybe a flashback where they were dating will be shown to us too?) or at least becoming neutral, not hating him like fizz did now

Ngl, this episode reminds me way too much of my recent “situationship”. He thought I only wanted him for sex when I expressed my love and care for him fully.
