That building in Tampere is the Central Fire Station, Art Nouveau-style building from 1908, designed by Wivi Lönn.

The cathedral on the first round is also visible in the avatar of the official map of Finland. The oldest parts of if are over 700 years old. The last one was a library that was opened in December 2018. That one with 14 huge columns you remembered on that round is the Parliament house of Finland.

Of course, when Turku cathedral was started, there were only catholic churches because it was before the reformation!
The red and yellow flag in Tampere is the flag of Pirkanmaa region.

Yes, and like Pirkanmaa, the colors of Tampere's flag also feature red and yellow, so that in itself is a pretty good clue.

I go past the Turku cathedral every day on my way to school (with one of those yellow busses.) It really is the most beautiful building in Finland!😍 And it looks even more majestic when you see it from far away

Took me a bit too long to recognise the old firestation in Tampere as a Tampere citizen ...
That hovering around Oodi in the last round ...

2:05 It is some sort of pilgrimage thing. 2:45 That street view was from september.
4:13 In these kind of survays it's common that people usually just say known/old/famous buildings.
4:30 & 5:26 "Neo-Gothic is an architectural movement that beginning in the second half of the 17th century became a widespread movement in the first half of the 19th century, mostly in England"
    11:11 Maybe he is... :)
12:15 Yeah that place was before.
    21:13 That happens sometimes. :)

    A nice game again 👍👍
You have played a lot of Finland games. At this point you should recognize at the first sight
    Turku Cathedral
    Helsinki Cathedral
    Parliament House
    Turku Castle
    Olavinlinna Castle …
Not to forget that Hesburger in the City of Savonlinna 🫣
In Helsinki you mixed Senaatintori square and Kasarmintori square when talking of militariy building.
    Keep on 🤗

The other church in Turku is just a bit over 100 years old. I live approx. 400 m from that church.

The Helsinki Cathedral had the twelve Apostoles as the statues

I took embarrassingly long to recognize the first round and then messed up on the last round. Just couldn't figure out the buildings, and lost 4 points.
@3:28 Yes the Turku Cathedral is still in use as a church, as well as for hosting events and art exhibitions. It also acts as the seat of the Archbishop of Finland. As the original church was build in 1300s it used to be a Catholic cathedral until the reformation, and is now Evangelic Lutheran.

The last round was painful to watch 😅 But to be fair, the Oodi library building wasn't marked very clearly on the map.
PS. You sounded a little tired in this video All Over The Map, is it a stressful time at work?

This map has only 30 buildings and just in Helsinki itself has over 100 more beautiful buildings than Tampere firestation. Scandic Imatran Valtionhotelli is the most beautiful building imo and I believe you visited there in one of your games.

I agree. "Valtsu" in Imatra is the most beautiful building of Finland.

One thing I find interesting about the Turku medieval cathedral is when I visit both it and the Stockholm old cathedral, I feel like the Turku one is like a more rough, simpler version of the Stockholm one. It would also make sense, since a long time ago, when the building process started, Turku was the second most populous city of the Kingdom of Sweden. In Stockholm was the king, in Turku, a duke (at least some of the time). Still today, the highest seat of the Finnish Lutheran church (and before it the Catholic) is in Turku.
