    FINALLY someone doing it properly with fuses and relays. Seen to many build on here where they go straight from the battery to the switch/controller to the lights.

      Jack Welborn the lights along the top of the windshield were great, they are also interior lights. The ones on the grill lasted almost all winter till the wires became weathered and brittle breaking off of the back of the lights. Most of that was me chipping ice off of the grill and headlights but I would look for a higher quality version.

    I dont mean to kick you in the nuts like some of the posts, but if your going to use butt connectors, get a set of crimpers. I use klein tools 1005 i bought at home depot or Lowes years ago and their awsome. If outside of the cab, I use non insulated crimp connectors with shrink tube. Good enough for aviation, good enough for me. That flash module works good. I just ran one daily for 3 months with two Amber lights and two Amazon 18w Chinese pods. Just took it out in operational condition and replaced with a rigid module, and bigger lights.

    Kind of a dumb question but why do you need a relay box, If i have a 6 Gang switch Box and the box is already fused, and or the devices are separately fused do you really need a relay box? I'd like to do this eventually. But would not rather mess with relay wiring. I plan to have them go to a switch box that's already fused.

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      joeh690 relays just use a smaller source of power to switch on the light, it’s just so you don’t have 12V running through your dash.

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rafael Galván basically all a relay is is a switch, it uses a low current that runs through the switch that you would toggle. That then sends a lower current to the relay which has a larger switch inside that allows the larger current to flow to the lights your turning on. It’s just so you don’t have a massive amount of power running through the switch you physically placing your hand on. In this application it’s not really a big deal to not use one.

  • @FireAndEMS
    @FireAndEMS 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That truck is a fire waiting to happen. Your battery wire is too small. I used 10 gauge wire for my Havis Charge Guard and battery. That is usually the recommended type of wire for any accessory running off of your battery. Same issue with the negative cable.
    Pulse not to mention stay far far far away from Amazon lights. If your installing lights go big or go home.
    Also grab some loom that is fireproof. Just in case there is a freak short that melts the wires.

  • @MARZ1911

    Hey man I’m thinking of doing this on the front of my motorcycle. I had somebody pull out in front of me and give me a big scare. I don’t wanna quit riding but I also don’t wanna die. Could I run the wiring for the lights directly to the battery or would I need something in the middle to modulate the current from the battery?

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah shouldn't be a problem doing something like that. they are just wired from the battery to a switch then to the lights. only concern is you aren't legally allowed to drive around with them constantly on unless your in process of working, driving slow, plowing snow or towing a large load. I would highly suggest a bright LED cube/bar light on the front as a daytime running light. For the the rear that have ways to make your break lights strobe when applied for added attention to the fact you are slowing or stoping. Im sure you could find other videos on that. Stay safe on the roads and I feel your pain worrying about other drivers negligent to motorcycles.

  • @Seabreeze_ADV
    @Seabreeze_ADV 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was wondering if you were aware that the primary purpose of strobe lights is to protect your vehicle or people working near by from traffic. This meaning that there is not much use for light on the front of the vehicle unless ur a cop or other emergency service in which case u clear traffic. For any other use there is only really a point in having rear lights as those 99% of the time will be the ones facing traffic. After that maybe some on the sides, id leave the front for last

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  6 ปีที่แล้ว
