I'm a chemist, & I've been trying every method for many years methodically, recording every parameter & result of every coffee, & I independently came to the conclusion that the best way to make coffee for ease, flavour & consistency, is the same as what this guy just described. The only thing I'd add is you should control the water temperature based on the roast level, aim for around 6-7% coffee (6g beans per 100ml water), & around 3-4% creamer. And use a medium grind, a bit finer than for filter coffee

I like to do it in a way that is somewhat like this way, but I don't use all the water at once. I use enough to fully submerge the grounds, and then I let it sit for somewhere between 1 and 2 minutes, then I drain it into the cup. Then I use the rest of the water for a second run, to maximize the extraction so that I'm not wasting an actually significant amount of the stuff in the beans that could have gone into my brew.

you can but its messy and wont give as even an extraction. the clever dripper done right creates a bed of coffee grounds at the bottom which the coffee water then filters through which provides a more even extraction. also pouring a coffee water slurry through a filter tends to clog the paper which makes extraction really slow, using a clever dripper and adding the water first is a lot faster. the dripper is more convenient and will produce better, more evenly extracted coffee

    wrld coffee xpert lol.
    Best coffee by far?:
    My unique coffee recipe:
    1.5 quart rainwater.
    2Tblspoon (real) brown sugar.
    1/2 Tsp Stevia.
2tspn honey added when coffee warm.
    10 drops liquid sucralose.
1 tsp my super rich 5fold homemade vanilla with Madagaskar &Uganda beans. (2seperate sweetness/flavor profiles)
    2tblspn cream.
Blend with hand mixer then briefly oxygenate as u remove mixer (dont overdo it or turn cream 2butter)
Now here is th money saver:
I use only 8gram fresh roast Uganda super high altitude beans per up to 2 quarts rainwater.
    Altitude is what makes thbean.
I brew totally dffrnt I just soak grounds in cold water.
I roast till dark enough that beans shatter 2 dust in commercial blender.
This releases flavor & caffeine & nutrients u normally just thro away.
    1. Put coffee in 3 or so cups cold RAINWATER ONLY 24 hours before prepare.
    3. Pour cold coffee in glass with metal screen never paper.
    4. Heat grounds with remaining water. I like 2do it twice extract all flavor. (but do not boil so tastes better)
Mollasses in th sugar &6 other sweetners deliver explosion of every spectrum in thsweetness profile its exquisite. Mind boggling.
Starbucks secret is they also use rain water. But theirs is distilled & its dead even tho its flavor is wrlds above anything Lucifer bottles. Satan uses metal pipes cuz they demonize electrons on a molecular scale. Making drinks poison regardless what thlabel says.
Starbucks is actually code for fallen angels.
Extremely oxygenated rainwater has orgone hydrogen peroxide & all sorts of charged electrons static & ionization etc. &lifeforce.
Lol Satans kids teaches rainwater is poison & people bleev it.
I also use quartz orgone pucks in my rainbarrels & they make supercharged holy water plus I have a 3ton orgone generator in my yard charges earths atmosphere out past thconstellations purifying the rain. Actually no I am not joking.
But dont google orgone. Google is Lucifer. Only I was given that recipe.
Some say coffee poison. Lol Satan hates coffee cuz it strengthens his prey so he tricks u in2 using 2much in a drink. At this point caffeine begins 2harm body. Thats why his kids got the idea of Starbucks. They know rain (distilled) water makes drinks taste magic, but their distilled water has a negative spin molecularly that harms humans.
They also put black goo & cmputer chips & other bad stuff in their energy bars & processed food& coffees.
Thats why I roast & make coffee myself.
    Facts:
Humans body organs begin fail 1week with no fats. Bible say WELL OILED dishes food of kings.
    FAT DUZNT MAKE U FAT.
Satans poison fat makes u fat body cant digest it.
Rats fed Satans flour died faster then those starved rats REFUSE eat bread if u give them a choice..
....grind eat corn wheat FRESH ONLY.
    do not eat only veggies.
Indians ate veggies b4 feast it makes u hungry. Cuz not enough calorie vs energy 2digest.
Satan put more people in hell last 50 years with low fat vegetarian diet then any other thing veggies only weakens u.
Humans body is a furnace eat your meats & NATURAL COLD PRESSED fats.
    *******************
People wade thru absolutely gargantuan mts. resources & energy 2even begin2 function then they throw excess away. And its still not enuff 4them.
Lucifers cup is ALWAYS 1/2 full.
They wonder how I live on 3k a year drinking coffee better then kings. Cheap Walmart coffee used2 cost me 12 pennies a day; my premium Uganda or Costa Rica fresh home cast iron pan roast cost 17pennies per 48oz. coffee.
Sounz 2me like less is more again.
People pay fortune 4lousy Walmart coffee cuz good sduff is price of gold. Then they use 23% of thlousy coffee throw threst away.
Why? Cuz google says so. Cuz schools taught them 2b a scrypt. Follow threcipe scrypt. Satan loves mocking thsht outv people. And peoole keep 5star reviewing him.
My sister was a bigshot Whole Foods stores. I got 2try some exotic sduff.
She, like every1 else would hump Lucifers google make coffee th idiot Lucifer way.
Using gargantuan heaps xpensive coffee, $$$ coffee machines, $600 roasters, & $$$ coffee paper.
I would collect th "used" grounds make coffee 3 more times with it.
Lucifers rule = 11grams coffee ground per 6oz lol. I use 8gram per 48oz. I grind to powder use no paper soak cold water so max flavor come out. Satans kids use huge grounds flavor locked inside granules water cant absorb. Then they heat grounds near boil ruins flavor.
When people buy coffee its dead. It was ground long time ago has no lifeforce.
When I buy green coffee beans its alive. Seeds are alive. Once u grind/kill they begin get stale. I buy once every 5 hears &store living food.
Satan does same with flour. Your bakery products DEADLY poison 2humans body.

it was at boiling, anything above 60°C will be too hot to drink anyway. the coffee will be perfectly drinkable with this method. the clever dripper does also have a lid if you want to trap in as much heat as possible but its not really worth bothering with
