both women became immortal with this one. susanne should be world famous because barely no one else is able to create music with this intensity. whatever she does in music is brilliant. another very rare talent is anna von hausswolff
I am so lost in sadness, wonder, other worldliness. She is a spirit that I cannot begin to fathom. She found the angelic within her suffering and set it free for the world to see in her deep rooted photography. And the music, the vocal, . . . I am so humbled.
Well, you've done it again Jeff. The musical component was emotionally perfect... but the images and video were EXTREMELY powerful. Which makes this presentation all the more poignant given the sad fate of the artist being featured. The photographs she took were EXCELLENT in every aspect and respect, especially the set towards the conclusion of the video documenting the end of her life. As you said, the music was a perfect fit, and anyone... ANYONE watching the video HAD to be moved emotionally by the haunting music and lyric overlaying those powerful images. Again Jeff, you are teaching this old man something new and I appreciate it! Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much! I was a little hesitant to post this one as I know some people would rather not see something like this but I have to be true to how I feel about it. I kind of have the attitude of take it or leave it, I will be playing deep content on this channel as well. Thank you for reinforcing that I'm doing the right thing!
The editing for this video is so masterful and effecting with the music ... A couple pointers : The woman in gallery holding the rose was her mother and the woman at her bedside was the vocalist ... My late sister had anerexia and bulemia when she was younger ... I spoke to my mother about how she seemed to have done well in later life ( although she was overweight ) and mom said she just traded one disorder for another over time ... The relationship with Food was ALWAYS complicated and imbalanced with my sister . Peace and Love from Austin , Tx.
Such a beautiful singer. And perfectly matched to this self portrait. Her photography without knowing her back story is stunning by itself and demonstrates that art transcends our own personal struggles.
Yes...so very true. I recently saw an interview with Lene and she said she's rather be ill and be the best photographer in the world than to be healthy and unaccomplished. But in the same breath says that her art gives her life and she was optimistic that her condition was going to improve. Sadly it didn't but she has left a legacy of amazing art and that was her gift to the world.
This is why i love your channel. You go outside the mainstream and actually promote less known music. Fun facts Susanne Sunndfør got married to day. She's from my hometown. Now you have reacted to a lot of Norwegian Artist and they are all female artists but there is som very god male artists as well. Please react to Jarle Bernhoft Fly away Live at Lydverket. 👌
Thank you Rolf! There is so much incredible music out there that will never get the recognition it’s deserves. Hopefully through the channel I can help, in some small way, to swing things in the right direction. 🫶
Hello, my friend, and thank you for a very beautiful reaction. This happens to be one of my absolute favorite pieces of art, I really have to say. I still vividly remember the first time I saw and heard it. I was almost crying my eyes out. Such tragedy and beauty combined. Lene marie Fossen and Susanne Sundfør were close, personal friends, which IMO adds just another layer to this. Susanne is the one sitting next to Lene in the bed in the video. Lene was one extremely brave woman for sure. Her age of 33 when she died suggests that she was a woman, but her struggle with anorexia from she was very young depraved her body of all resources, and she never even reached puberty. All of it incredibly sad. I have a hunch that your other suggestions may be "The Brothel" and "White Foxes", or possibly "Undercover", but if not, we need to talk 🙂 Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
@@StrateleStudios ok, I just had to download Patreon and subscribe. Would you do Turkish delight for me then? (I haven't figured out how to ask on Patreon yet)
I hope one of them is "The Silicone veil" ( Live Skavlan 2012) , but my favorit is an Audio "Mountaineers" (featuring John Grant) . very much requested BUT no - one have made a reaction to it ! Not to my knowledge, and I have been searching ...
The lady sitting by the bed holding Lene's hand is Susanne....sad but beautiful

Deep track right?! Man, this cut straight through me
I liked your comment that Susanne's voice is comforting alongside the saddening images.
Amazing song and documentary ❤️Susanne sundfør sitting by her bedside.
This is too heartbreaking to watch.
Rarely i watch it, but everytime it crushes me.
This tears me down every single time I watch this.
Tragic suffering she must have been going through yet a beautiful and touching song as a tribute to her amazing photography she gave to the world.
Lene was so very brave. Her art gave her life.

This one really stops me in my tracks. It is so powerfully honest. This really shows the vulnerability we all carry within us!
I hope it makes us all look for the beauty inside and also the beauty we may find in the middle of physical decay and tragedy.
So beautiful and sad at the same time!
Thanks for your reaction 🙏💛
Amazing and cried through the hole video. Thank you!

Get me every time! Thanks for putting your words and emotion to this sad/beatiful video!
Thank you Paal!
Susanne Sundfør is an icon in Norway😡 - and Margethe Olin who made the documentary Selvportrett is a fantastic and brawe film maker
...she is great singer. What a tragic story line in this song 😔... Her "White foxes" song is great/well known song too.
New Album by Susanne Sundfor will come out soon. Check out her new Song "alyosha" at You Tube. Yes, she s amazing.
They finally met! ❤

nice reaction. I think you really will enjoy more of Susanne's music. My suggestions would be "Sound of war" and "Turkish delight"
