I like that you made a video keeping and cooking Calico. They are excellent eating and plentiful. Hopefully the bassholes don't give you grief. Some people get so weird about keeping them.
They are delicious. I definitely wish they had a slot limit though. I would never keep on the big ones. 14-18 inches have a chance at coming home with me though haha

I loved fishing around Catalina Island, I grew up in Southern Cal but moved north to Washington in the early eighties. Catalina was always fun you never know what you might catch from Yellow Tail to halibut, Calicos and White Seabass etc.
I am fishing up north of you out of Ventura Harbor an Morro bay. I am really taking some good tips, strategies and gear ideas from you. Awesome videos an nice to see someone love to fish an be on the water with good vibes and positivity.
My wife and I enjoy your content. You always show respect for the ocean and the fish and you don't have to say the f word every 5 minutes to show how tough you are. Great way to save the day. Thank you, I appreciate you and your wife watching! I love fishing the island but it is hard to focus on it when bluefin are around haha. We actually lost the lid to our chum buddy so we made a makeshift one out of some carabiners and a pvc top.

@@fluentfishing its totally legal too. We had fish and game board our boat and we had the paintball gun laying on our seat and they asked what is was for and we told them we use it on seals that try to take our fish, and they said it was totally ok. You just cant run by a buoy and unload on them for no reason lol. As much as I'd like too. Only if they are around your boat going after your fish. Soon as you hit them them move on to the next boat. They are smart though. They can see you with the gun so you have to be stealthy lol.
My grandpa has a sail boat that i want to fish off of. He's based out of long beach. He was based at marina Del Rey and promised to take me to Catalina but we just haven't. This makes me want to go so bad.
Rock fish lot of Link cod or soul flounder or Pacific halibut that's where we're going to be after a lot of flat fish in short a lot of crabs I love crabbing abalone all the way up to the welts all in the sea urchin so totally different fishery snorkeling scuba diving swimming
If you can hook me up later with freshwater fishing I love to fish for bass and tilapia oh don't forget salt water catfishing at Catalina Island in California can't wait here's my email for saltwater catfishing oh she loves crabs dungeon is crabs will be terrific we love to go crabbing for Dungeness crabs she loves her crabs Melissa and Paul loves to go crabbing make sure have some chicken necks on there and some chicken wings for her crabs lobster too she loves crabs?! She loves imitation crab salad is her favorite with shrimp shrimp cocktail and a shrimp poor boy sandwich she loves her Cuban sons make sure it get Dr pepper or Pepsi diet I love Pepsi Lovers by Taylor Swift pain Black by The rolling Stones good fish let's rock it?!@$

No not recently! I havent heard if he has any trips planned out here this year.

paintball guns work great for seals and just as much fun when fishing is a little slow lol
