Lawson you are epic ,changing plans on a moments notice to fish with the boys and then not even seeing them but putting together a great vid.for the subs all in new water ,dude I love your passion and focus...you deserve the 100K 10 fold tight lines Bro...
Lawson, you got tons of energy to be able to do stuff like that I guess I'm kind of getting old. Love the video I've actually been fishing in Everglades Ten Thousand Islands before. Quite a few years ago but one of my best friends used to ba guide down there so he knew that place like the back of his hand. And we caught some fish Jack. I mean from goliath grouper in 12 ft water , giant 48 inch Snook Plus huge redfish 8 foot Bull Shark 8 foot Hammerhead in 6 ft water caught a lot of them on Twitch baits and home made buck tail jigs tipped in shrimp. The list goes on and on and of the different species of fish we caught. The Sharks though we had cut bait for those. The most fascinating fishing experience I have ever ever seen in my entire life and we'll never forget it. I live in Daytona Beach born and raised. But in my opinion the Everglades Ten Thousand Islands is where it's at. Great video
Thanks Lawson, welcome to the Everglades! Your video brought back so many memories to me. You said you were overwhelmed, how correct you were. My first time there I was petrified, I've been lost so many times it's unbelievable. It took me many years to learn it, but it was all worth it. The Shark and Lostmans rivers are my favorites, but the Hutson, Chatham, Harney, and Turner all are awesome fishing. One pointer, I love using artificial's just like you, I have caught gazillion of nice fish on flies and artificial's. But down there all of my personal best were caught on live baits. Mojarra's are easy to cast net down there, and the fish love them. So I would always throw out at least one live bait, and keep throwing the artifical's. Always the live bait caught the trophy fish. Thanks for all that you do, best of luck.
I've been kayak fishing for a little bit now and a solar charger has saved me many of times. They are cheap nowadays and actually work... When the suns out that is
Nice, thx for showing. U definitely need to plan a camping fishing trip there. I camped at the flamingo campground for new years all week long. Cub n boy scout fun. I really appreciate your videos, I'm from MI so only freshwater fish. Your fishing has helped me now that I live in FL for saltwater. I'm a fishing counselor for Cub n Boy Scouts.
I have that exact same Stradic 2500FK reel on a Favorite Defender LunkersTV edition rod and I LOVE it. It is by far my favorite spinning combo. That reel is just buttery smooth.
Enjoying all your videos. you are so fortunate to live in a such diverse fishing environment. I hope to be able to move to your area in retirement, fish a little, and catch a rocket launch as well, and catch some more.. thanks for the education ...keep the quality vids coming..you are good.
LOL, yeah, the name powerPOLE would suggest it comes with a pole. Totally agree about the full coverage clothing. You can spot the snowbirds because they are in shorts and shirtless and burnt to a crisp. I know exactly where you were, recognized the launch and the main channel. There are snook way up those creeks in those backcountry lakes year round, but most of the bigger ones have started moving further outside now due to really warm Feb/beginning of March. I have been doing good where the main channels that lead to the outside islands start, especially the ones with big oyster bars.
Addition, with treble hooks, you have to have a precise cast when dealing with mangroves bc they have very crazy action while skipping since they are concave on one side and convex on the other. Can be done but sometimes you get that weird bounce straight up in a mangrove. Definitely my go to bait!
Great video! We love fishing the Everglades but you better have those maps to get back! I cant even imagine trying to stay the night out there with no gear. The bugs would be insane!
You’ll love that power pole micro bro, I’ve had one on my boat for two years and it works great and super quiet. Definitely has made it easier to slow down and really work a flat and shorelines!
Hey Lawson. You should try some of the gulp swimming mullet. Everything seems to love them, including some of the bigger snook. Sometimes reds will hit them just sitting on the bottom because of the scent.
Some great islands to camp at down there! Plus you can eat one the tastiest fish in the ocean! Baby Jewfish are everywhere and just so tasty so I've heard. Have not fished down there in 10 years but one day I'll be back.
@@LawsonLindseyFishing Hopefully not for long. Maybe a lottery system like with hunting the gators. One of the best eating fish I hear from the old timers.
I launched out of Everglades City Sunday in my kayak. I paddled across the bay and caught a ton of fish, mostly redfish, but they were all small. Yanked my Gulp shrimp away from a big ray that was on it, no way did I want to deal with unhooking that in a kayak! Couldn't find the big ones. Key to the Everglades was to find moving water, when the water moves the fish turn on like a switch but when it stops they disappear. And now I'm back in Chicago, and dealing with the aftermath of my Jeep getting wrecked after getting rear-ended by a truck while in Florida. Nothing like that happening when you're 1400 miles from home...
I am up in the panhandle now but used to fish keys florida bay and everglades good point to start casting is areas of transition, like where any of those mangrove channels open up to a basin or a wide open area either out or in depending on the tide or water flow. Camping is the way to go did one trip and camped Cape Sable really nice area, not just the cape but all of it. Nice vid. ..................how was it to put those wheels on that thing on the way in?
Looks like Port of the Islands. That canal gets a huge amount of freshwater flow and it takes a long ass time to get anywhere good, let alone out to the bay. Tough area to fish
Thanks for this video Lindsay. I took my rover to the everglades today and it was hard as you described. No luck today but I should have seen your video prior to go there!
Just a piece of advise...Had a micro but went thru 11 of them in 2 years time. Great piece of hardware but what made my 11th one last was not taking a water hose to clean it out! That's what the dealer told me to do and its lasted.
Hey man I don't comment often but great to see you using your smarts and switching it up so regular to find the fish it's such a key element that a lot of people don't realise can turn your day from an OK one into an AWESOME one! Keep it up love the videos.
I would love a video going over how you decked out that Sup board. You really created quite the shallow water fishing craft right there for probably very little money.
Hi. Like the way you talk to the camera but keep your eyes on the road. You would be surprised how many tubers look at the camera even when driving. Good health and stay safe
Chartreuse and lime green, gold or orange, are always very good colors in any artificial bait form in murky or dirty water, so is white... I don't know if you guys over there are familiar with CID hard plastics, if so, try the shiver stick especially in the goldfish color, they work very well within all kinda waters... Including freshwater for large mouths etc... It's a slow sinking bait and cast very well and straight and are popular for a successful hookup ratio ...
Does the bote have a rod holder you can put a patio or beach umbrella in? You should try that, im from louisiana and cant imagine fishing all day without a t top
It’s basically the perfect temperature for fishing where I’m at (Indiana) but it’s supposed to drop to low 40’s and below tomorrow and today the winds have hit up to like 60mph so looks like I’m going to have to wait a bit longer before I can start fishing for the year
The everglades is my favorite place I've ever been to. Been going for a few years now. You should try launching from Flamingo next time - you could also camp on the chickees. Phenomenal place that'll take a lifetime to learn. Can't wait to see your next trip down there.
Hey I just came across your channel. And couldn’t help but to notice that you don’t have any registration sticker on your skiff. Now I stay in Florida as well but I was wondering if you can help answer a question for me I have a inflatable boat and would like to put a engine on it now the question is do I have to get my boat registered in the state of Florida and do I also have to get an insurance on my boat as well
What is the other reel you are using other than the stradic? What are your thoughts on the stradic vs the ci4? I'm in the market for my first "higher end" combo and would love to hear your opinion. Apologies if you'd already covered this in previous vids. New subscriber👍
More skin coverage helps your body regulate its body temperatures better!!! Can you keep the trout to eat, or is there a specific season? Beautiful trip and video.
That was great man you came all the way over here I fish there all the time and that one spot you where getting the trout is my trout hole. You should diff fish the weir at night its epic my fav spot to get snook. Caught my biggest snook there 42ins.
Can I make a mirrolure pick for you ? Model 15Ls, color 18 green silver shad. It's a shallow diver that will replace your current lure as a favorite. Just remember to change the aluminum hooks for fine wire hooks of the same weight. better get 6, they will go fast.Let me know what you think please.
Was riding my bike today and the back tire got caught on something and got thrown off, it broke the tip off of one of the baitcaster . Is there a way I can repair it
Be mindful of crocodiles my friend. They're far more aggressive than their Alligator counterparts. They'll actively chase you, even when it's not mating season. Paddle boards don't help in that regard lol. Other than that, great video!
Ccmusic American Crocodiles are pretty timid. There are no documented attacks in Florida (no fatal ones anyway). Alligators though, have many documented attacks.
You have to be basically in the Keys to see a crocodile. I have seen a crocodile while I was riding my bike through Shark Valley decently north in Miami.
