Glad to see that the Goliath Grouper haven't eaten all the Trout, or the other Groupers. Glad you found at least one snook. Better weather ahead ... . Have a great weekend.
brotha I appreciate this series you did in the Everglades! Wow I learned so much in those passes! I finally bought a new Fishing Kayak thanks to you! You really inspired me to get one. I've been wanting to prospect those areas especially in the Goodland area. You gave me amazing intel during this time of year. Amazing catches and was amazed the amount of Goliaths that live there.
From what I remember, the rules regarding taking goliath grouper out of the water vary depending on their size. Under 'x' inches, they have to remain in the water because their own body weight will crush their organs, similar to other large aquatic animals like whales. It is safe and legal to remove smaller specimens for hook removal and/or photos before releasing them. This may have changed in recent years, but that was my understanding.
Wow man, never see you pack this much. Was always amazed that you take the minimum and do great with it. But like you said, better to be more than under prepared. Awesome day bro!!
Always enjoyable to watch. Seeing all those juvenile goliath groupers you've been catching, makes me think they are coming back from extinction. I wonder when they would be up for harvest. Anyway take care.
I've been going back to 10000 islands whenever I can. It'd be cool to bump into you sometime. We're definitely going to chase goliaths the next time we're there. Thanks man.
Seeing a bunch of new model/styles/brands of pedal kayaks. Is the game opening up past Hobie and Old town? any opinions on the 3 Waters or other offerings by the rest of kayak makers? Is the drive system more important than the kayak brand? Appreciated
I’ve seen the Vibe in action and liked it. The lightning kayak is also a good one if you want to spend 1k less than a Hobie. Unfortunately Hobies Glide drive is the best one on the market
@@EliasVFishing Thanks for the response. How useful is the easy reverse of the prop pedals vs the reverse drive with the hobies? Watching some old vids, seems like the early models had issues at least.
I can respect you want to figure it out on your own, nice set of grouper. For more snook orientated catching try a mirrodine and spook up under the mangroves where theres current
I lived in south florida for two yrs and only fished the everglades once or twice , with about 15yrs less experience than I have now... So the results were... Underwhelming. But, I'd kill to go back now (or the keys). Its seems like the pinnacle of an east coast multi-species from fisherry
I believe its federally illegal to remove goliath grouper from the water. It's not really enforced at all on smaller fish which is probably under 30 pounds or so. Its dangerous to the larger fish to be removed from water because the water supports their massive bodies. Pulling 5-10 pounders out to unhook then toss back is perfectly fine. The population of goliath grouper has exploded since their season was closed. I look for them to open a short season at some point for them. Maybe a fish a day 20-28 inches or something. Quality video as always.
Elias, Florida claims there is a problem with the number of Goliath grouper (formerly known as Jewfish) for the past 40yrs to to past overharvesting prior to 40yrs ago. It was true, and now have made a major comeback But there are so many, they are a nuisance. The same with sharks and are not allowing the commercial harvesting of sharks offshore, yet these days, you can't hook a fish on a reef without getting sharked on most hookups of decent fish. Your subscribers can help petition the Florida Fish and Wildlife Management (FWC) to allow the commercial harvesting of sharks, as well as recreational harvesting of Goliath Grouper (1 per day with a reasonably priced permit).
Can we all appreciate that Elias never asks for subscribers or likes

It’s crazy how many amazing species you’ve caught on your own shads, must be an awesome feeling.

are you ever going to do a collaboration with Steve from keywest kayak fishing?
@7:50 man. Kind of amazing being bowed up on a grouper as you point out exploding jacks nearby to your buddy.

Just packed up the elias shads for first day of stripers out of jersey tomorrow. Lets get em!
Good Point, Good fishing skill!!Everything is perfect fishing♥
I like to fish at night down there. I’ve had a lot of good luck fishing after dark down there especially on the changing of the tide
I think it's time to relocate down here. Can do this all yr round!

Great fishing expedition on the kayak.
loving the everglades videos. you ever fish the gulf side of florida near Fort Myers?
I've been going back to 10000 islands whenever I can. It'd be cool to bump into you sometime. We're definitely going to chase goliaths the next time we're there. Thanks man.
I’ve never seen a fish eat a toadfish man. Thank goodness they do though!!!

Ive tried every pedal kayak I could get my feet on.. and there is nothing better in my opinion than the Hobie.
I wonna see from you review about Kastking Sharky 3 if that is possible.
looks fun. Will have to go fish FLORIDA NOW
I like your style brother👍👍👍
What depth are you fishing? Are you jigging up tide or down tide of the rocks/ structure?
I can respect you want to figure it out on your own, nice set of grouper. For more snook orientated catching try a mirrodine and spook up under the mangroves where theres current

You need a tow behind yak for all your stuff!
I love your yak
Are you ever worried that you might get hooked by the treble hook when the fish is freaking out in the kayak?
Lol calculated risk.
Nice
I wouldn't worry about getting juvie goliaths out of the water. completely legal and doesn't hurt them.
Move to florida. Way more species to catch
Wit do use for Losers don there
You can take the juvenile Goliath out don't listen to them
GULF TOADFISH 😠 😡
