I just picked up my Q7 Prestige yesterday and absolutely love the way it drives and rides. Before I bought the car I test drove the Mercedes GL 550 and it made me feel so nauseous the way it rocked.
This is an ideal car for icelandic winters. It snows so much that sometimes I cant use my car for days, gets really annoying after a while. So I need this car, plus I also love Audi's.
He approached the review quite negatively I think over emphasizing how big it appeared. People buy a Q7 because they want BIG, full stop. I drove the BMW, Volvo, Mercedes and Discovery equivalents and this Q7 offered not only superior technology it offered a much better driving experience.
Apparently you guys can understand us, but not necessarily the other way round. I've been watching some Slovak reviews, and these I can more or less understand.
+Miguel Berghs I made it back to civilisation without losing anything from underneath the car. If there is something to say about the car, I don't mind making a longer video. In the Q7 there's a lot of new tech, and the voice recognition system took about 2-3 minutes. But I wanted people to see, how long it takes for the system to actually recognise spoken commands.
The Audi badge is better but I'd still go for the xc90 at the end of the day. The Audi interior might be better put together but the xc90s interior looks amazing! Great reviews Marek! Keep posting.
I always enjoy your reviews and your humour. Audi seems to be giving the other German competitors a run for their money. I use to be a loyal BMW fan but Audi is making me consider otherwise. The Q7 seems like a well rounded vehicle but the price is steep. Ryan from Canada.
+Atanas Chuchev Funny you should ask. Getting the Q7 took some effort. I had a chat with Audi Poland last week, and it turns out their media monitoring does not include TH-cam, so they have no clue, whether my channel is worth anything to them. Providing reports generated by TH-cam doesn't mean a thing to them. They need to have a formal report comparing whatever competition there is. After some arm twisting they said they will get back to me with a date for an A4 review. I'm not going to hold my breath, but we'll see.
the rear wheel turning could have been mentioned ( not sure if i missed it..). It was one of the best reviews to be frank. I loved the car but sadly my dad bought the GLE 400. could you do a review on that??.. Thank you
That gear lever looks like it's in the wrong place, they should swap that and the mmi controls over. Also, I hope the S5 gets the virtual cockpit, only as an option.
Actually, I'd like to retract my first statement. Was in a demonstrator A4 recently, and it didn't impede as much as I feared. Still hope virtual cockpit is only an option though.
+Yassine Idbelaid Interesting you should say that. Judging by your name you're from somewhere in the Middle East. I just discussed this car with my friend from Dubai, and he said the new Q7 looks too much like a station wagon to be popular in the UAE ;) And why do you like the old one more?
+Marek Drives it looks like a bigger a3 ...it looks small and heavy ..I respect all tastes but for me the Volvo xc90 or even a touareg is a better choice ....yes I'm from uae dubai
Thanks for the video. Do you know which brown is this interior? is it the Nougat brown or the Cedar brown that comes with the luxury package? BTW, here in the US, it's 2017 Q7, they simply skipped 2016.
+Dalia Hasan I noticed many of the new models in the US are called one model year ahead of real time ;) I checked Audi's configurator in Poland. Our leather trims have different names to what you mentioned. This is just brown leather upholstery, not a part of some bigger interior trim package (these can cost $10-15k).
Marek Drives, haven't you tried TDI version? If yes how do they compare? I'm not talking about fuel consumption for sure. I'm interested in the "feel". I've read some reviews that TFSI is just too sluggish in low revs (read everyday, especially city, usage) for this car.
+eMRimas I've driven the Touareg with this diesel motor (-10 hp Touareg 262 vs. Q7 272), and now that you mention it, I did enjoy the Touareg a lot more, than the petrol Q7. You really need to step on it, to get it moving. It lacks the diesel punch.
Is the cabin noice about the same as in xc90? You should compare facts in your video about conpetitors, this have 18xx liter luggage space and xc90 have 18xx bmw 18xx bla bla for example.
I know, my mistake. I was holding the camera with the other hand. What I meant was that the seats are heavy, and if you're a mother, you'll have to drop that bundle of joy, and use both hands.
Hahah i see there is not mach change in the listening capabilities of navigation systems since the time clarkson was trying to talk to a mercedes a few years ago!
+Posidaon It's much better now, because it uses the cloud for processing power. But speech recognition (especially in languages other than English) is tricky.
On petrol stations in Poland they're always trying to sell you a hot dog. Less so in Western Europe. I should have adjusted the script for the English language version.
Our Q7 was a really beautiful car - but a very dangerous TOW-car! This report fails to comment on the potentially LETHAL Audi, factory fitted, automatic tow-ball. It nearly cost us our lives!! There is a PLASTIC "assist ring" fitted into a recess around the perimeter of the tow-ball. It contains sensors, so that you can reverse the caravan using the MM knob on your console. Why? When you pull down the lever, of your stabiliser, it compresses the plastic ring, which becomes no longer round - so cannot rotate freely. The friction due to it trying to rotate causes heat - a lot of heat - higher than the melting point of the plastic! The plastic becomes deformed and melts onto the friction pads of your anti-sway stabiliser device. The molten plastic then LUBRICATES the towball!!!! Going downhill, two lorries pass by, closely.... and our twin axle van began squirming and snaking uncontrollably. The caravan's own Alko stability system is not programmed to work with a lubricated tow-ball!! How we survived I cannot say - years of towing experience surely helped. It was the most frightening incident in many years of caravan towing. Audi blamed Alko - Alko said "NO"! The Alko chassis and tow bar, preceded the "assist ring" by many, many years - your mistake Audi!!! Then followed months of denial and excuses by Audi -phone calls, letters, emails (even to Audi DE) - they would not accept either my word - OR EVIDENCE of destroyed friction pads. There were many German forums regarding the issue and published questions to Audi - all of which achieved nothing.....except this remarkable plastic innovation is no longer offered? I never towed with that car again - although Audi offered to send me (as their final offer!)........a new plastic assist ring?????? I sold the car - it was a liability, if used for it's intended purpose. We have a ( nicer car and much nicer to drive) Touareg now - standard tow ball and rock steady. Ditch the Audi, if you have a tow-ball with the assist ring - if you enjoy living.
Editing gets better in every new video.
yeah :D

Your car review is always one of the top 3 out there, impressive Marek!
I just picked up my Q7 Prestige yesterday and absolutely love the way it drives and rides. Before I bought the car I test drove the Mercedes GL 550 and it made me feel so nauseous the way it rocked.
Thanks Marek, this was a very funny and informative review.
you did an awesome review!!! thank you
Awesome review! You are hilarious too!
liked the review. the polish was an interesting lesson (I have a few Polish friends here in the UK) :-)
Another thoughtful video. Cheer's Marek.
This is an ideal car for icelandic winters. It snows so much that sometimes I cant use my car for days, gets really annoying after a while. So I need this car, plus I also love Audi's.
Great review! Please, please do the Q5 also :)
Thanks Marek. Very informative review. Been driving one of these for a few days myself and you've bought a few interesting points to my attention.
Glad to hear it. Let me know your thoughts on the car, after you've spent some time with it.
Great review!
He approached the review quite negatively I think over emphasizing how big it appeared. People buy a Q7 because they want BIG, full stop. I drove the BMW, Volvo, Mercedes and Discovery equivalents and this Q7 offered not only superior technology it offered a much better driving experience.
Nice review man! Yeah Audi O 7 is a huge truck It gives you better experince in ling drives rather than in city traffic
The older version looks so much bigger. The front could be mistaken for a Q3 on this one.
I like your reviews, and you're funny too! keep up the good work man! :D
sorry if bad english!
+BartsMyName Supplies! ;)
Polish & Croatian - similar (Slavenian) languages. Audi Q7 - great car but I prefer XC90 and of course Range Rover!
Apparently you guys can understand us, but not necessarily the other way round. I've been watching some Slovak reviews, and these I can more or less understand.
Love the new style of the reviews. The 14 minute video seemed to be like 3. You're getting better and better. BTW, how did the offroad end?
+Miguel Berghs I made it back to civilisation without losing anything from underneath the car.
If there is something to say about the car, I don't mind making a longer video. In the Q7 there's a lot of new tech, and the voice recognition system took about 2-3 minutes. But I wanted people to see, how long it takes for the system to actually recognise spoken commands.
+Marek Drives That's why I love your reviews; you show it like a normal user would use the car. BTW, great that you mentioned the Espace story :)
The Audi badge is better but I'd still go for the xc90 at the end of the day. The Audi interior might be better put together but the xc90s interior looks amazing! Great reviews Marek! Keep posting.
Thanks again for an interesting car review. Question: did you drive a diesel as well and how did interior 'noise' compare between the two? Thanks!
+boy blonder No, I haven't.
I always enjoy your reviews and your humour. Audi seems to be giving the other German competitors a run for their money. I use to be a loyal BMW fan but Audi is making me consider otherwise. The Q7 seems like a well rounded vehicle but the price is steep. Ryan from Canada.
It seems prettier than before
Hi Marek, great review! Are you planning to review the new a4 any time soon?
+Atanas Chuchev Funny you should ask. Getting the Q7 took some effort. I had a chat with Audi Poland last week, and it turns out their media monitoring does not include TH-cam, so they have no clue, whether my channel is worth anything to them. After some arm twisting they said they will get back to me with a date for an A4 review. I'm not going to hold my breath, but we'll see.
I'm still coming to grips with the voice navigation system on my TT. Maps are out of date as well so have to upgrade them in a year or two.
+ThexBorg What's the sat nav upgrade policy in your maket?
+Marek Drives Looks like we have to pay $500 to update it..
ThexBorg That's a bit steep. In Poland it costs $250 for the newer cars (all European countries), and in case of some older sat navs half that.
NICE CAR
the rear wheel turning could have been mentioned ( not sure if i missed it..). It was one of the best reviews to be frank. I loved the car but sadly my dad bought the GLE 400. could you do a review on that??.. Thank you
+Aneesh Anilkumar Indeed you missed it: 8:34 ;)
I should get my hands on a GLE Coupe in about a month, review will follow shortly.
That gear lever looks like it's in the wrong place, they should swap that and the mmi controls over. Also, I hope the S5 gets the virtual cockpit, only as an option.
I suppose they should swap more things for RHD markets.
Actually, I'd like to retract my first statement. Was in a demonstrator A4 recently, and it didn't impede as much as I feared. Still hope virtual cockpit is only an option though.
I prefer the first generation
+Yassine Idbelaid Interesting you should say that. Judging by your name you're from somewhere in the Middle East. I just discussed this car with my friend from Dubai, and he said the new Q7 looks too much like a station wagon to be popular in the UAE ;) And why do you like the old one more?

+Yassine Idbelaid Are there many new XC90s in the UAE? BTW, I'll be in Dubai in about ten days ;)
+Marek Drives no American suv's are everywhere and some premium German and British cars. ..u r welcome. the weather is perfect
+Marek Drives l
Thanks for the video. Do you know which brown is this interior? is it the Nougat brown or the Cedar brown that comes with the luxury package? BTW, here in the US, it's 2017 Q7, they simply skipped 2016.

+Dalia Hasan It's the Nougat, Cedar is somewhat darker and comes standard with exclusive wood trim for the dash.
Marek Drives,
haven't you tried TDI version? If yes how do they compare? I'm not talking about fuel consumption for sure. I'm interested in the "feel". I've read some reviews that TFSI is just too sluggish in low revs (read everyday, especially city, usage) for this car.

+Marek Drives thank you for the confirmation. Great review BTW. Would watch your extended version on the new Q7 for sure!
eMRimas I'm not sure the interwebs are ready for more of me ;)
i have a q7 and you dont have to put the seat rest down when folding third row seats
Is the cabin noice about the same as in xc90?
You should compare facts in your video about conpetitors, this have 18xx liter luggage space and xc90 have 18xx bmw 18xx bla bla for example.
+yamahaevo Sometimes I do.
IMO Q7 cabin is quieter than XC90.
The headrests do fold automatically on the 3rd row.
I heard they do. They didn't in this one.
"You need 2 hands to lift the second row seats" - does it with one hand.
I know, my mistake. I was holding the camera with the other hand. What I meant was that the seats are heavy, and if you're a mother, you'll have to drop that bundle of joy, and use both hands.
To my understanding Audi skip the 2016 model. They made the 2015 then 2017 so why is this title 2016 ?
This model year skipping may be a US thing. In Europe this was band new 2016 model.
Marek Drives I wonder if it has to do with the diesel emission.
Hello Marek, Can you make a review of the new Kia Sportage? Much appreciated.
Will do in due time.
such a great english level, how u learned it, Marek?
+Юрий Юрченко Living abroad.
Hahah i see there is not mach change in the listening capabilities of navigation systems since the time clarkson was trying to talk to a mercedes a few years ago!

nice accent, man!
If I had the money, wes I'd probably be sold on a Q7
I needed a coffee after watching to wake me up sorry
That hot dog line was really fucking weird..
On petrol stations in Poland they're always trying to sell you a hot dog. Less so in Western Europe. I should have adjusted the script for the English language version.
Audi Q7 or Lexus RX 350?
zak89 Q7 for sure!
I liked the old one better
Thanks for immediately swearing in front of my 3 year old
+sebastianpatten I'm sorry. I never expected a 3 year old to watch a review of 100 grand+ SUV.
Are you a BMW fan?
or is it
At 2:30
Keep kids and other animals at bay?
+yossie718 Yeah ;)
Keep kids and other animals at bay :)

Reading broadens horizons.

mercedes is name ...and you cant even compare bmw, i think this guy needs to get a job
This is a nightmare car, had a horrible experience
What kind of horrible experience?
Rims are hideous
Great review!
