29:20 unless things have changed within the last month being able to come and see for my self would be very difficult. As far as I know they still haven't released the USA flight ban for travel to Russia. Do I need to use a VPN!?
In Russia, villages were places where people worked on farms. Villages closer to towns have new houses but places like this remain as they were. They have declined since the Soviet days because the state owned farm is now gone.
Sam, can you address the economic situation in Russia, outside of Moscow? I'm in the US. My wife has got two sisters in Russia and they just reported that inflation is going way up but pensions are lagging way behind. It's on the order of 3:1. It was bad before the war started. Have things worsened considerably recently that would account for the disparity?
Well, I visited Russia last year. On Nevsky Prospect, the police threw a guy holding a poster vehemently to the ground. The guy didn't resist a bit. They smashed him into a prison car afterwards. Admittedly, I could not read the poster but it's an easy guess.
I knew about it on the first day it happened. Obviously it wasn’t a nice situation for him. I understand that he must have been scared. Only he knows what really happened and if it was deserved or not.
These are not police wishes to arrest, but actually the Law on the State Border of Russia of 1993, which clearly states that access may be restricted within 5 km from the border not only to foreigners, but also to citizens. Those who are registered in these localities can stay in it. Each region can individually accept specific localities and locations as a border area. For example, in Shebekino, Belgorod region, which is 4 km from the border, or Blagoveshchensk, which is right on the border with China, they are not a border zone. Therefore, they are free to visit. And, for example, Norilsk or Novy Urengoy or Anadyr in Chukotka, where the border is about 700 km away, are a border zone. In order not to violate this law, and you really want to visit the place, you just need to call the territorial border department in advance - they will issue a pass, go there as much as you want. If you do not warn and if you get caught, you will receive a maximum verbal warning or a fine of 500 rubles for visiting the border zone. If there is a row, or a repeat visit after a fine, then the administrative detention is 15 days, and after that the foreigner is also deported. Everything is clear and according to the law. As for Tommy aka Sabbatical he was warned once by local patrol to leave zone but he ignored and visited another border zone + he also filmed a bridge. Bridges in particular are strategic objects that are protected by law. It is undesirable to photograph them. This is one of the reasons to detain a person.
Those red white pipes tell us that is a local district water heating plant. It makes hot water 70C for a huge amount of homes and heating for 30-50 thousand of peoples. White dense smoke is just water vapor. Those heating plants in Vladimir region and most of region Russia are using natural gas as a fuel for heating. Not dirty coal, not fuel oil. There are no harmful suspensions in air. So it's safe for ecology.
@@SamsRussianAdventuresAnd the Russians were firing missiles into the USA, assassinating top officials and had policy papers titled "Extending America" with the objective of a complete strategic defeat. Not to mention losing an entire generation fighting the same exact enemy 80 years later. It's a wonder any Westerner can travel to Russia without getting lynched by an angry mob. It's a credit to Russians that they can separate individual Americans from the federal government. If Trump doesn't reverse the Biden war, I think at that point the Russians will have had enough.
@@SamsRussianAdventuresthere are no forbidden locations in the US and if so you will have France’s and plenty of signs in advance telling you that there is a restricted area. Even if you go there the personal will simply tell to leave you don’t get arrested

29:20 unless things have changed within the last month being able to come and see for my self would be very difficult. As far as I know they still haven't released the USA flight ban for travel to Russia. Do I need to use a VPN!?
Fly to Turkey
Sam,it seems if you go off the beaten track Unfortunately all these villages seem to be stuck in the 50,sand 60,s.
In Russia, villages were places where people worked on farms. Villages closer to towns have new houses but places like this remain as they were. They have declined since the Soviet days because the state owned farm is now gone.
2:50 I really hope you’re joking about ‘fake’ moon landings lol
No ones been to the moon.
@sealboy1211 orbiters have taken photographs of the Apollo landing site. I suppose you think the orbiter doesn't exist either, and the earth is flat?
@@jahuuuu did you have a good time in Russia? Where are you from?
Did you see sabbaticals story? What,s your opinioj

Bald and bankrupt version 2.
@@robertholland7558 Tommy and bald and bankrupt are very anti-Russia and got what they deserved.

Look like poison hemlock plants
Maybe! The crazy thing is that I only recently found out that they were poisonous!

It's a credit to Russians that they can separate individual Americans from the federal government.
