Thanks for the well wishes. The car is beeing fixed with reinforcements to the front wishbone area, and it will be ready for next seasons races. Zandvoort is an awsome track with some super high speed flowing corners, that I wish to visit again hopefully with a better outcome.
What an absolute shame. You definitely were one of the quicker cars. The most important thing is that you're OK. Is there any trackside footage of what happened and who you should send the invoice 😉
he lost two places at the start, gained them back before the start of lap two with the rest of the field spread out so far ahead, he would need a SC or VSC to get back in line, if thats even a thing in these kind of races. Even Martin Brundle would say, he was not quick.
You had every right to that piece of the track, but already during the first lap the blue guy didn't give the impression of stellar situational awareness. Also, he'd had a moment at that precise spot the previous lap. Discretion could have been the better part of valor here.
totally agree. The guy in white and blue just overdrove the heck out of his car the whole time like he had the track to himself. No concern for the position of other cars around him... I would've been VERY patient in passing a guy like that...
@@FloridaManRacer In the previous lap, I thought "Oh this guy has massive lack of grip on that particular corner" and he slid into the yellow next lap, it was obvious this crash was going to happen.
I'm assuming the various different types of car are classified separately in this championship yes? the wings alone must give some crazy cornering advantage in high speed sections
Thanks! That brought back great memories of driving a Formula Ford around Brands Hatch. Sorry about the accident - I guess these things happen, you should have been given more room though.
I don't know what's up with this series, it looks like historic F3 vs F2000 style cars, but I'll say this. I'm not at all surprised the blue and white car caused that. he was in an F2000 style car (no wings) and sliding all over the damn place because of the lack of downforce. He was driving WAY over the means of the vehicle he was in... There should be a rule that if you clearly overdrive the hell out of your equipment and wreck out another car, you get to pay for the damages to the car you wrecked for your utter stupidity.
@@lamachhorne9043 the crash itself was caused by the blue and white car being unstable. What I'm getting at is the driver clearly didn't understand the performance of his vehicle. He was driving that car with a ton of slip angle in the corners, which caused a ton of instability on corner exit. Which is why I bring up the downforce issue. If he was in a car with wings on it, he would have been driving correctly and the car would have stuck to the road. Without, he was overstepping the car's limits. That instability on corner exit is what got our man here wrecked out. The blue and white car was no doubt to his inside fighting and sawing at the wheel as it drifted out to the corner exit and into this yellow car we're on board with. He didn't do it intentionally, he did it because he didn't have the intelligence to know he was never going to make that move cleanly in the type of car he was driving.
Why are those guys not running a wing? Also a bit opportunistic to throw it around the outside there when you see the car is being skiddish. Especially in an oldtimer race with a friendly spirit, just wait and try the next corner.
He was going for it and driving great, then someone hit him. Not in the blame game but could it possibly be the dude with NO REAR WING OR DOWNFORCE....just saying.
Are this cars hard to control or only this dude was fighting his car to keep it going ? I occasionally drive old single seaters similar to F4 (jk series car) in a private rent and drive time attack (no race and anyone can drive) It seems this guy car was not balanced the way he was fighting it mid corners. Once I lost my rear wing and struggled same way
ok bad english but i try my best. This video made me understand racing better from driver point of view. In this race and others, f1 rally etc, i understand how some1 looks slower, when he ties to block the overtake at corners, and the other takes better driving line for higher line speed. I knew this alredy but now i like understand it.
Ahem, excuse me? Does that photo frame at 4:15 means that, after the collision, that piece of metal just pierced the car and went very close to hit your legs? Wow you could have been hurt for real Are we serious?
Wow, I hope you've reinforced that part of the car now.. when I saw that picture, it scared me tbh.. I thought these old cars were sturdier.. it's beautiful though, congrats!
Because most of us are hopeless amatures who don't know how to... and it doesn't really seem to be nesesary (somebody is propably going to tell me other wise).
It's so unnecessary that autos and sequentials have auto blippers even though ratios are close and downshift times are a fraction of those most drivers achieve on a manual (synchromesh or straight cut) It's strange that the more one takes to downshift the less he needs to blip, rev drop isn't an issue
The race was split up into two different starts, and we cought up with the tail end of the first start, where some of the guys had started from the pitlane and was still worming up their tires. That is why it all got so caotic.

That blue and white car was moving all over the track, sooner or later he would hit someone.
Was thinking that the whole time before the crash. Also thinking, just let him go, he's not worth your troubles.
i read that right as he did
I agree. He didn’t keep his head cool under his helmet

That is a fabulous track and better suited to those smaller cars.
Damn, the intrusion in the cockpit is a bit concerning. There’s no stopping that suspension part from really messing you up.

You are welcome :-)
Unfortunate result, but really great racing from you man, best of luck in the future

Yes different classes.
Yikes, that wishbone entering the cockpit is terrifying!
@WOLF_UNIVERSE a suspension part
Great driving mate. Really close racing. You definitely had the pace
Ah man that sucks, I once raced a Reynard 84 model and it always concerned me about those lower wishbones and how easily they penetrated the cockpit.
Great drive, bad luck and WHAT A FANTASTIC TRACK
Yes super track
That hurts, was going really well until then!
Looks like a lot of new parts are needed.
A Camel in the dunes. Great that you actually race those historic ‘mens’ cars. Now for some heel and toe action.
I am pretty sure in F3 cars they have sequential GB just like F1. 2 pearls and hand clutch. The current ones definitely do.
