You guys did a great job with these productions. Keep 'em coming! And the CD/DVD set is SUPERB. . . The greatest Deep Purple music I've heard in over 35 years.
Discovered Rainbow in 82 and had to go backwards to catch up musically. Loved Gillan with Sabbath but Perfect Strangers was just so "Perfect" I became a huge Deep Purple fan. Amazing journey with them. I like Steve Morse a lot but for some reason my mind says they could've found someone else. I don't think it would be the same without Steve though
Sorry - the album "Infinite" is a sleeping pill for me.... Get me back to the old days when Purple was deep and when the band deserved to be called Deep Purple - by other words when Ritchie Blackmore was the driving force of the band he once founded with his mate Jon Lord....
Sorry - You need to move on, Ritchie has been gone for 24 years now and he's not going back. The music now is less frantic, more thoughtful, Gillan can't scream or even sing like he used to, and the songs are obviously going to be different in tempo and style to when Ritchie wrote the riffs. If you simply can't understand or accept this then at least you have the old albums to listen to whilst you yearn for the ( never gonna happen ) return of the man in black.
I have to respectfully disagree as I love the InFinite album but we're all allowed our opinions - the DP you listen to with Ritchie and Jon produced the best music in history, so it's hard to argue!!!
