remember back in 2020 all the choregraphed dancing nurses in empty hospitals? I remember and that was when I started to wake up.

Yeah I always wondered how the Branch Covidians squared Hospital ERs being „overwhelmed“ with video after video of doctors and nurses dancing around in empty wards. Critical thinking is a distant memory in this world.

I started working in a hospital at the end of February 2020. It's given me a perspective I'm very grateful for. I still look back fondly on the early days of the "pandemic" and how much I got paid for how little work I did.

I remember the dancing nurses during covid. Thats why when they went on strike for more pay I protested against it. If you have time to make dance videos during a national emergency then you don't desreve a raise.

In California, the rent is so high that if you don’t make $150,000 with perfect credit, you could be homeless.
A studio is about $2600 & a lot of places are $3000 & above. Things have gotten a lot worse for renters since Covid.
Some people can’t afford to live here & can’t afford to move.
Some people have to live here because their job is here.
I would say Newsom has done nothing to help the average tenant.
My understanding is that California has always had a strong landlord lobby.

I never thought comedians were the last bastion because the group as a whole has been compromised for decades… so no their “sway” is not really there, even if they thought they were delivering the unsung truth as soon as they get called out for something they have wrong, they suddenly just become a joke teller again and you shouldn’t take them seriously… having said that Adam was on point during Covid, and the line how come I knew about it, is an argument I have also said during the last couple of years.

I think there are more reasons than being a junkie with a mental health problem for homelessness but even if that's true, obviously those people have no hope without some intervention that is actually helpful to them and ignoring them or yelling at them or wishing they weren't there isn't going to change anything at all. Seems like finding common ground on that point is one that wouldn't cause us to stop being friends. As for the things about how COVID was handled, yeah, I agree. It sucks that we think that we are in control of our lives when in reality, we all suffer each other's delusions.

Always LOVED Adam going back to The Man Show! Jimmy who??? Landed on his feet when they got screwed over and replaced by Rogan without whining about it.
Loveline he was the common sense hammer to Dr Drew the empathetic diplomat. That formula made the show work beautifully. Same down to earth, genuine, blue collar, mans man and Good People character that John Goodman has that made Roseanne work for so many people. Or John Daly as a golfer for that matter. Love to have a beer with any or all 3 of them. 👍 Or 18 with Big John?😁 How Adam or Goodman lasted ANY length of time in the unhollywood cesspool entrainment industry still boggles my mind to this day. I can't sit through anything they put out now and not much that industry put out before knowing what I do now. Adam is an exception as is his podcast. Right where he should have landed like a natural progression.
My faith in humanity took a major hit that aint going away with the covert id insanity. I suggested to all the guys I knew and worked with we wear obnoxiously bright pink panties over our heads to cover the mouth and nose instead because it was obvious where it was all leading. And I've written off most of them now. Some were openly advocating that anyone who refused to comply be locked up knowing exactly what that would lead to. None of them did that around me more than once. I'd go maskless just to crank up the new and eager brown shirts.
The silver lining was watching so many dump those facial maxi-pads so fast after the Ottawa Convoy realizing they weren't the only ones in the crowd. They were the crowd all along. With a few power hungry loonies mixed in.
And watching the loonies faces turn purple with rage while simultaneously avoiding prolonged eye contact when they realized they were actually the powerless minority all along was priceless. 👍👍🇨🇦

Bad policy and panic in most cases. We didn't have a good test for COVID, many people with co-morbidities and non-Covid illnesses went to hospital and overwhelmed the system, and while some had Covid many did not yet were declared Covid. I had family in nursing at the time, they were told call EVERYONE Covid just to be safe. Oh, and the Hospital just happened to get a $13,000 payment from the Government for treating a Covid patient. If they put that person on a ventilator, which nurses eventually KNEW was a death sentence, that was another $35,000 to the hospital. In the Bay Area a handful of inner city hospitals got slammed by the same thing, but everything else was a vacant lot. They built these huge Covid tent cities in parking lots, my local hospital even had a scary refrigerated morgue trailer. Not used. But what did happen was that people deferred routine care for illnesses that got worse, they didn't do normal doctor visits because they were told to stay away and they had undiagnosed illnesses that were too advanced to treat easily once the Covid fear hype faded and we saw a huge increase in premature deaths. Oh, and because routine care was stopped the hospitals lost money leading to firings and clinic closures.

It is easy to say now that only certain groups were at risk. It was fair to say at the time that only certain groups were at risk.
What I find jarring is this hindsight absolutism, like it was always a given. It is easy to say, with a degree of confidence and if your choice is only yours alone, that lockdowns were wrong.
What if you were wrong about the groups at risk - If there were no lockdowns and the disease mutated in a different way depending on location, and that many millions died as a consequence of the ‘no-lockdown’ conclusion..?
The other point is that the risk was death - slightly more of an absolute consequence than bad business.
I didn’t agree with lockdowns - but then I’m a nub with no knowledge.

He and the addiction medicine specialist doctor he has hosted shows with for about 30 years, agree it’s primarily addiction and mental illness issue. That group is not made up of mostly well put together people falling on hard times. People like that have networks who can help them out.
