I love that you took your dads pessimism and used it as fuel to absolutely nail (pun intended) that project. That’s a great personality trait to have 👏🏻
I have done my own carpenter/plumbing/electrical/mechanical/landscaping/ due to lack of money over the yrs so i have 25 yrs of constant work. I am so impressed with you and your ability ! Not only do you do good solid work , i love listening to your calm voice as you go through every phase of the project ! Your voice is therapeutic . you have a sweet spirit about you !
Stephi, this project was a perfect way to honor your mother. Your comments about being present and enjoying the process were also lovely. All I can say, she is so proud of you & all that you have accomplished. I think a picture of her on the porch would be a perfect touch! All the best!
You did a great job on the porch!!! I'm a professional carpenter, it all looks awesome. The only suggestion that I might have is to run pieces of 2x4 at a 45° angles at each of your corners on the screen door to prevent sagging, which will happen over time if the corners aren't stable enough. Other than that, kick ass job!!!
@@philweird1943 You aren't wrong, Phil. Guys are awesome at the manly arts. Mine runs heavy equipment, welds, plumbing, electrical, masonry, mechanics - he does it all. Immigrating here it is interesting to see the thousands upon thousands of channels where women wear skimpy clothes and do guy stuff. But you don't see men in skimpy clothes changing diapers, doing laundry, dishes, etc.
I dont think you give yourself enough credit for what you do know stephi. I dont know many people who could do what you did with that porch. It looks great. Very well done.
Amazing Stephi! There’s nothing you can’t do! Your drive and determination gets you there every time ! Thank you for not dragging this video over 4 days! I loved seeing it all in one video. Can’t wait to see your creativity unfold on the finer details of decor!! It looks awesome!! ✨🌟
Look at how far you've come! I've been watching your videos for a long time now and you went from all kinds of hospital visits, and struggling with CF, to doing all that hard work on the porch to your own house. You have so much energy and it's amazing to see your journey moving forward to a future that you weren't even sure would exist. To see that you have overcome so many obstacles is so admirable. You definitely deserve to be proud of yourself!
Wow, you did an amazing job!! As a carpenter for 30 years, I know how hard it is to install screen material on your own, and you did a great job…and your first time to boot! So proud of you!!
Awe I just love it and I'm so impressed by what you did. Here I am almost 40 and wouldn't have known what the heck I was doing if I had a project like that but I'm so excited about how it turned out
It looks beautiful. You definitely proved your dad wrong! I knew you could do it you are a artist! You're very talented. Can't wait to see the inside when you're finished. Have a happy Sunday
I needed this video! Thank you for sharing! Totally proved your Dad wrong and made a full video about it too. Super motivating and inspiring! I Love it! Nice work! Can't wait to see the next step! 💖
So many of us came from broken homes so we’ve never felt safe and/or at home. That’s why I find so much joy in watching strangers just doing it when there is something they want for/in their safe space! So happy for Ollie and you 💚💚
Stephi, short story I have follwed you for years now through your life journeys and it has been a pleasure and big help to have been able to watch you live your life through the ups and downs. You are truly an inspirational to myself and I'm sure others as well and also a blessing. I thank you for allowing us to be apart of it as a perspective that we all need but didn't know we needed it. I have been adoring your natural hair lately! I have loved all of you hair styles over the years and seeing your beautiful natural hair has inspired me to go back to my all natural hair as a way to reconnect with myself, cause I've been feeling lost and feel like my hair has a deeper meaning and relation to who I was and who I currently am. I know this sounds weird to you guys but I dunno, I'm trying to make sense of every myself. Thank you for always being you! 🤙✌🧡
Looks really good. I couldn’t see from video how close your floor boards are together. But another idea is to put the screen underneath the floorboards so spiders and bugs can’t get in from underneath!!!
You are completely right about enjoying the process as regards building things, and of course loving the outcome. I like how your doggy is the supervisor, our cats are always the supervisors and inspectors when we do house or garden work.
Most people hire a couple of professionals to do what you and your dog built. You are going to enjoy it to the max when using it knowing you did it all. Congratulations. I like your style, "Hey Siri"; "Yeah"........ and you are on. Cool.
You did an amazing job screening in your porch! I love that you decided to make a door from scratch, too! It's just perfect! I'm sure that your dad will be blown away by your hard work to make it happen! It's funny...we always want to prove our dads wrong, don't we? LOL!!! My late father would say things like that to me, too, you know, oh, that's a bad idea, or, oh, you can't do that. And then I did, and he was always proud of me. Maybe dads say 'can't be done stuff' just to challenge us to do it and bring out the best in us in their own 'dad way'. Can't wait to see how you decorate your new screened-in porch!
You are one of the most amazing artists I’ve ever seen in my life so, I had no doubt you could pull this off! Wow 🤩 it’s really inspiring for me because I just moved into a dump! I need to begin my own renovations because I’m too broke to hire anyone lol 😂 lots of love to you and your fur child!!
I really love the message of this vid. I am moving soon and I have always hated moving and usually end up having major panic attacks where I can’t breathe. I am sincerely going to try to focus on the process and not the end game. I’m thinking this is just what I needed to hear today. You are a beautiful human StephiLee. Thanks for being a huge inspiration to me and many others! 💕🌸✌️
I'm about to restore a whole house for my daughters and I by myself and I am so thankful for that advice ! THANKS☆STEPHI Now I will try to enjoy every step ! YOU ROCK!
Amazing job, Stephi! I'm impressed with your work. I was daydreaming about screening in a porch the other day. Screened-in porches are game-changers! I was house sitting last week and their house has a second-floor screened-in porch, in the mountains next to a creek. I camped out there during my stay, it was the best sleep ever. I kept popping open my eyes to look at stars. It was surreal to be camping visibly, in a canyon, amongst bears & cougars lol. Obviously it was the loftiness that offered protection from large predators, while the screens served as a guard from smaller ones like mosquitos. I'm not sure if cougars can climb lofted porch beams lol, but they didn't last week. I hope you don't have cougars there lol. Again, I'm inspired. Great job Stephi
Hi Stephi! I have been following you for a long time, I just wanted to tell you it makes my heart happy tp see you heathy and thriving! Porch looks amazing, great job!
Hi Stephi, Youre spot on about enyoing the process, i went through the same of huring up to the end result or focussing only on the end rsult, so for me enyoing the process means that you get connected with youreself and what you are making , because when you do so it means you put youre soul in to it or a piece of youre self in to it, and that makes the end result much better and gives it the WOW effect . Keep going and have fun ;)
It looks awesome, especially for someone not knowing anything about making and installing doors, and screens. Question...what about when you're bringing in furniture or larger home appliances? Did you measure the width of the door so they can be moved in or out without difficulty?
You are so right about enjoying the process as well as the finished product. Often it’s in doing the work that memories are made. I thought the material list at the beginning was very useful. Thanks
Go you Stephi! The porch looks so amazing and finished to such a high standard. There really doesn’t seem to be anything you can’t do……..if you put your mind to it. So does this mean Miley was right when she sang about ‘the climb’?! 🤣😂🤣
I really needed to see this. I’ve been going non stop for the last on my new building and trying to finish projects. My adhd has left me with a hundred half finished huge projects. I need to slow down and enjoy life more. A whole year has passed and I truly haven’t done anything except work on this property. Thank you for this ❤️
Wow Stephie you are such a smart Beautiful young girl you inspire so many younger girls your age so proud of you in all your accomplishments awesome job on the screened in porch
Nice Job, Stephi🤩 You totally crushed it, installing your screened in porch!!! I am SO PROUD OF YOU AND YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOURSELF, YOUNG LADY! WELL DONE ...❤️✌️✌️✌️
I am so impressed with your will and determination to get things done! Thank you for being a bad ass inspiration to this old (now single after divorce) lady!
Awesome job! Both in building and editing! My German Shepard has run into my screen door knocking it out of slider tracks cause he didn't see it. Maybe a cross support below Ollie's eye level so doesn't block his view would help him see it. Also my boy has pushed the bottom corner of the door and got out when I had it locked higher on the door like yours. That slick screen porch is going to be fabulous! Congrats!
YOU ARE INCREDIBLE!! This porch project all by yourself?! I don't know if anyone tells you this but I was proud of you. It looks really really good too nice work
As one who used to build patio and screened in rooms in my youth, making your own door is not easy by any means, getting the screen in without tearing it is another accomplishment in itself. Great job enjoying the process, and now the end product is amazing.
Your new screened in porch looks fantastic! I had confidence in you and knew you would succeed 🥰 If your dad isn't as proud, make him sit outside with the mosquitoes lol, just kidding 😉
Looks like a great place. No immediate neighbors ,big yard and porch is really nice. Hope it still is when you get done! I have faith in your creating and will power. 😊 Wow! Great job...I am impressed!
Hi, I'm enjoying every moment of you doing this really great. It's the guts you need to do things and you definitely have it. For me you are an example to many others, hope I can say I am proud of you as a stranger, but we need more like you in this world of softies.
Just wanted to say you have the most calming and soothing voice that i've ever heard! I could just listen to you talk for hours! I can just tell you have a beautiful soul with a big heart! I was recommended your channel by TH-cam and soon has i heard your voice i was hooked.
Your porch looks great! You have a vast amount of knowledge to turn to on the internet for projects! People in the past like my parents age did not! Cant wait for another Stephi project!
Good job! Looks great. Small suggestion would be to add a small latch or stopper on the outside of the door to keep it closed when you are away from the house and it rains or is windy.
You did an amazing job! You're dad's jaw is going to drop when he sees it all completed! I can't wait to get my house so I can do all the fun projects too ;u; This is some big Hannah Lee Duggan energy here!
Just found your CHANNEL this morning. I love your peaceful easy going natural vibe. I love seeing a beautiful woman with an "can do" attitude. Keep on doing what you are doing.
you did such a great job! I’m actually building one off my back porch at the end of the month so this just made me feel so much better about doing it myself 💛✨
My favorite are those that we build together with my family , specially one table that we build with my father while he was still alive . To put you soul in what you are doing , not some cold generic .....
Well you did it, you got the porch all screened in and it looks great . You have the right to be proud of yourself . So go girl go !!! Looking forward to seeing the finished porch . I will see you all later, so take care and stay safe working . 🤗👍💖💫
This is the first video of yours that I am viewing and so far im in love. There was so much personality in this one video and I love your determination throughout to make it look actually nice. Imma be sure to watch some of ur older videos but im here for all if this rn 👏🏾
Is it wonderwoman? No it is a carpenter, artist, videographer, editor, van builder, dog lover, door maker, screen builder! Oh yes… it is a wonderwoman!
I just recently learned you can use the drill to tighten in the bits without having to take the extra time to hand crank them in when switching from the twist bits and screw heads and such. Tricks of the trade. You did an amazing job, it looks awesome! I'm feeling inspired to tackle new things I haven't tried. :)
You're always so positive you do amazing work and you're so beautiful I love your Channel keep it up I'm actually renovating a camper as we speak I watch your videos all the time I watch a lot of videos but I really enjoy yours I hope you make more you're beyond beautiful and I appreciate you
Looks like a great place. No immediate neighbors ,big yard and porch is really nice. Hope it still is when you get done! I have faith in your creating and will power. 😊
I absolutely love the screened in porch. It looks so freaking professional and beautiful. I’m proud you didn’t listen to your dad. Do you be you don’t worry about anybody else wants.
Fantastic job 👏 on your new screened in porch. Say goodbye to mosquitoes 🦟 and hello to more practical use of the space. When I lived on a lake in Texas I installed 2 ceiling fans. Made a world of difference.
4:40 7D2D fans will know this is high noon lol. Enjoying the process is what some of us call "embrace the suck." It's a sign that this video popped up in my feed because your porch is a lot like mine. My wife and I have been wanting to screen it in for a while but we've both been unsure of how to go about it and have always found reasons to put it off. With the cooler weather coming (we really enjoy sitting outside in the Fall), I think it's time we get it done. Appreciate the inspiration!
Wow impressive! might need some added reinforcement as a puppy deterrent with some heavy duty caging on lower half where there isnt porch rail. My dog bust through the area near the door to the left or right framing. Easy to add later though. But You have been warned! Ahaha You did an amazing job. You looked so adorable with your tool belt and vans. I'm so proud of you. I can't wait to see the decor!! I also loved what you spoke about taking your time not rushing and enjoying the entire process. Next time I will Try harder to enjoy the annoying beginning tedious stages of whatever I am doing. It was a great reminder!
Ok I have no excuses now... I want to paint my house, but need to replace the Fascia board in a few spots.... I'm 63 but had a woodworking shop for many years. It's time to get back to it! I CAN!! because I saw you do it! amazing!
You are certainly someone to look Up to you decide to frame in your porch and van it's done and looks amazing, you should be proud of yourself and what you have done And proved your dad wrong. You are an amazing lady Stephi through all your trials and tribulations as child growing up with c.f. and get the medication for your life to continue your a champ girl and beautiful inside and out ❤❤❤
Great work! One thing you might want to think about is adding a diagonal support on your door going from the bottom corner of the hidge side to the top corner of the non-hidge side, should make the door even stronger!
Watching this I suddenly remembered your dreads, and then also remembered omg Stephi used to be so sick! Giiiiirl oh my gosh how far you have come. Been watching your stuff forever and it's so wholesome to watch you go and grow through life
My hat off to you little lady for undertaking such a project. One suggestion I do have is ALWAYS wear eye protection. You don’t something flying at your eyes as you cut, hammer or paint or do anything during the project. Good job on your project.
You never seem to amaze me!! You’re porch looks absolutely stunning, as do you do you!! 🥰 ( you look so much happier since you moved into your gorgeous home, congratulations 🥂 again!! ) ♥️
Turned out better than I expected!! 👍 Just a idea, maybe put another 2x4 piece on the frame of the door on the inside to be used as a door stop. That will prevent the door from getting pushed in too much and damaging the hinges/frame.
We love your new porch area!!! You should be really happy and real proud of yourself!! Too bad for how mean your father said to you. The new porch looks amazing!! We get the feeling at the end of the video that Ollie approves your hard work. Cheers and like always stay safe.
I just saw this video and I've never seen any of your videos before, so I watched a few more videos you made. And I have to say you're amazing and an inspiration.
Just needed to let you know how beautiful your hair is looking - that colour.. and the gorgeous curls- suit you so much. You are looking the most content and lovely I've ever seen you look.. and you have always been stunning. You are incredibly creative and capable Steph- the porch looks amazing! Your Mum would be smiling down on you from heaven 💝
WOW! Impressive. You are So Inspirational to people and in this episode in particular. In this video, you show (maybe even unknowningly) that a majority of getting something done is saying, “I’m just going to do it”. Although you had no knowledge hoe to screen in the porch, your overall Confidence in Yourself made it work. Your van project was likely helpful in developing the “Handyman” skills you have shown the world. You really did a Great Job.
You reminded us of Hannah Lee Duggan's style of video with the changing of music so quickly, and a lone soldier repairing things. Great Work Stephi! I can't wait to hear or see your Dad's reactions :)

🤗👍💖💫
Welp this was the motivation I needed to get to Home Depot haha I have so many projects I wanna start but … idk wtf I’m doing 🤣
The Collab we didn't know we needed...
Looks great ! You could add a spring to the top of the door so it closes and stays closed when you go threw it to minimize bugs getting in.
Well done! I love the way you just get stuck in & do this sort of stuff! Good job.
Very nice & love your attitude & drive to get done with no stress over. The process is wonderful to rember.
I just recently learned you can use the drill to tighten in the bits without having to take the extra time to hand crank them in when switching from the twist bits and screw heads and such. Tricks of the trade. You did an amazing job, it looks awesome! I'm feeling inspired to tackle new things I haven't tried. :)
Very impressive. Awesome job Stephi.
WOW!! I am soooo impressed!! You did a great job! I have always wanted a screened in porch! You should be very proud of yourself!
So excited for you stephii!!! I may not be able to see it in detail but it looks incredible, way to go!! 🤗⚒🛠🏡
I'm so stoked to see this video! I didn't know how to screen in a porch before--now I do! Thanks, Stephi!!
I love it! I can’t wait to see the finished project! You did a really great job!
You took your time and thought things out. You did a terrific job and created a space to enjoy. 🧐🌲👍
Beautiful video as always love
Great job! Thanks for sharing your victory and your insight. Enjoy the benefits of your labor.
I CAN!! because I saw you do it! amazing!
Great job Stephi!!!! I'm impressed! Came out great!
You are certainly someone to look Up to you decide to frame in your porch and van it's done and looks amazing, you should be proud of yourself and what you have done And proved your dad wrong. You are an amazing lady Stephi through all your trials and tribulations as child growing up with c.f. and get the medication for your life to continue your a champ girl and beautiful inside and out ❤❤❤
Great work! One thing you might want to think about is adding a diagonal support on your door going from the bottom corner of the hidge side to the top corner of the non-hidge side, should make the door even stronger!
you did a great job....I used to make windown screens as part of my job....it isn't as easy as it looks to roll the spline in.....looks jyst great!!!!
Watching this I suddenly remembered your dreads, and then also remembered omg Stephi used to be so sick! Giiiiirl oh my gosh how far you have come. Been watching your stuff forever and it's so wholesome to watch you go and grow through life
Subscribed. I don't know how this came up on my feed, but your whole vibe is dope dope!!! Thanks!!! Bless!!
Just a idea, maybe put another 2x4 piece on the frame of the door on the inside to be used as a door stop.
Your Mum would be smiling down on you from heaven 💝
you are seriously the most beautiful, chill girl ive came across. love your vibe and personality! great work, steph!
WOW!
