These are great tips, but as weird as it may sound: The best way to kill them is the pickaxe. They're very sensitive to pickaxes. It does require you to be on the ball when it comes to dodging their attacks, but the pickaxe will do great damage to them each hit. Get a fully upgraded iron pickaxe or higher and you'll make quick work of them :)
I tried it tonight with a black iron pickaxe and I just couldn't get the hang of it. I've heard that if you can jump on their heads and use a pickaxe it does a LOT of damage, and I have tried it in the past and it works, but I always seem to have trouble getting on their heads. If you have mastered a technique that works with the pickaxe, though, that's awesome!
I figured out how to do it with a pickaxe. I would run in and take one swing then use the rest of my stamina to put some distance and regen stamina (and health if I got bonked). Rinse and repeat a couple dozen times. I feel that the golem (and lots of other tankier enemies/bosses) requires a lot of patience. I feel that recently getting into Elden Ring and other souls-like games have helped me increase my patience when it comes to fighting enemies. Not saying these enemies rise to that level of difficulty, but I have gotten burned when I tried to finish off an enemy with a sliver of health left who managed to get a devastating hit in which reminded me of several 10+ minute boss fights in Elden Ring that ended with me dead when I tried to go in for a final blow yolo style rather than keeping my guard up.
@@Gorre022 that’s very true. Yesterday I went back into the mountains to try to get a golem trophy end took a much more aggressive approach with my iron, mace and black metal shield for parrying and it went much better (except that I did not get a trophy after killing seven of them ugh).
Easiest way for me to kill them is to legit just turn in a circle around them. They telegraph those attacks so much that it gives a lot of time to get around for the backstab.
Some missing details in this guide. Your using the iron armor, your total armor value matters when blocking/parrying attacks. Try and perform this in like Troll hide + iron buckler...you'll lose any block/parry attempt. + your Max HP
I was busy minding my own business mining silver in my pit thinking I was relatively safe when both the wolves and the Golem fell into my silver pit. I died. I came back and jumped on his head with my mace and killed him but it was dicey at first.
With method one you can staggerlock them. Just continue hitting the stoney with that trusty mace, if you have enough stamina left. One successful parry and they're dead. Edit: the pit method gives another opportunity, if you want to finish the golem off: fall on his head and use your pickaxe. They are weak to pickaxe attacks.
I just use killall. Last 4 Moder fights in a row have had a Golem spawn midfight, the dozen or so workbenches scattered everywhere just got smashed by Moder and the golems spawned. Nope. Killall, including Moder. The Devs suck at game balance, I have no problems fixing them with devcommands.
The game just get progressively difficult each Biome. But it is not hard. I've died a lot, but I learned. Don't give up :) - Every creature has an attack pattern, and once you get that it becomes easy. Fight moder in the morning, and make sure the area is clear first. Creatures should not spawn in like that when you're in the area, unless it's night.
I found myself fighting Moder for the 1st time ever yesterday and a stone golem came and joined the fight along with several wolves and drakes. I’m on Xbox so no console commands (that I know of) so I thought I was screwed and considered running back down the mountain to my nearest portal back to my base. At first it was dicey but then the stone golem got into a fight with the wolves and drakes so Moder and I went slightly down the mountain and I methodically finished her off there while all the other creatures were distracted. So the stone golem in a way saved my butt lol. Of course I returned to the Moder nest afterward and nearly got myself wiped out by the golem and other creatures.
Nicely done! Golems are easy to deal with: Dig a hole and lure the golem in, or pull it in with the harpoon. He'll stay there forever, and new golems won't spawn. @@lukesherwin4137
I've been playing for a while and Usually, I just avoid or trap them in a pit. I did not know you could Stagger them... Going to give this a shot.

Yeah I don’t do well with a pickaxe either! So very appreciative of this video! Thanks 💙🤓

@@lukesherwin4137 that sounds way more time consuming and harder than just parrying and wailing on him with my mace 🤔

Super helpful, thank you!
He has a third attack now

Good video
Bonemass and hit it with your pickaxe. Or if you can get on top and ride it, then hit with your pickaxe.
your mic is crackly sometimes
otherwise thanks for the great vid!

The first Golem magically goes from more than 3/4 health in one shot to having almost none then, *smash, “easy”. …Your mileage may vary… clearly.
Flame Trolls
I’ve had more success with just kiting them into the pits I’ve dug from mining silver, and then just leaving them there.
funny
Nah. Jusy jump on their head and pickaxe them.
This is a great way to get killed.
