I got this working with resizable bar. I'm working on doing a write up later this week, but I'd love to get in contact because a video tutorial would be worlds better than any documentation I can make.
@xJoa2023x I had to work with the guy who did it for the 7010. I'm working on a guide, but the guide won't be able to help with the patching/dsdt portion as we eneded up having to take a short cut. However, my understanding is its not always as rough as the dell bios makes it, but lenovo might be as tough.
@@JohnBraman413 Right now, I can only do the 7010, but if there's enough interest, maybe Optigpu and I can talk with the guy who helped me out so people like @ZiggyNinetyFour can make other devices work. There's a set of steps to create the files needed that I struggled with, that he did for me and provided the files you would end up creating.
i know this channel might be a side hobby for your but as a Dell OptiPlex enthusiast myself please keep this going i loved your video and also Dell OptiPlex are great level entry way to get into pc gaming if you never have
a380 it's going to be rough going on the old 7010. pcie gen 4x8 bandwidth cut by 75% on the gen 2 slot, no rebar etc. you'll have a better time with a 1650
Wow... it's worse in some cases that I thought it would be, even worse than some of the issue with the RX 6400. I had assumed it would be more of a loss in average frame rate, but dang... Halo Infinite and FH5 were a mess. Starfield working so well is completely counter intuitive. I haven't gotten around to my testing with both the A310 and A380, but it will be interesting to see if a newer CPU can mitigate the massive stuttering, or if this is a driver issue?
hey im having problems with installing the Lp intel arc a380, for some reason it keeps making me update the driver assistant to update the gpu and it says " app already installed, repair?" i restarted my pc 3 times and keeps saying this, my pc is: elitedesk hp 800 g3 tower with ddr4 and on the device manager the card is called "microsoft graphics card" and shows a triangle warning sign what do i do?
I have a Lenovo m93p and I have that same GPU but I can't activate rebar and it can't Evan run Minecraft can you help me with this I looked up the software to modify bios but I don't understand it and I don't want to ruin my PC if I do sum wrong
Is it possible to fudge a ReBAR on this, try too! and redo the same games see if that makes a difference... just bought a new budget setup (and maybe ending up with a A380 and A750 that would be in the new setup) and would like to know if a fudged (custom UEFI "hack" that does ReBAR) on my old computer could run A380 without the "freezing"... low FPS no problems but the freezing is a no go...
Between your two choices, 1650 Super. Although, if you don't have a SFF case you might want to look at the RX 5700XT instead. About the same price, twice the VRAM, and way (like 2x) more performant. Your 4th gen processor might actually hold back the 5700XT, so a 5500XT or even an RX 570/580/590 might be more appropriate. The RX 580 and GTX 1650 Super are at about the same level (except VRAM). Since AMD has discontinued Polaris driver support, I'd lean towards the 5500XT or 5700XT if you want to take the card onward to the next build and not just leave it with your current rig when you decide to upgrade. If not, go for the RX 570/580. With that processor, all these cards are "4K" cards, meaning you have to really keep the GPU busy to not be CPU bound, so running on Ultra is totally doable. Keep in mind that you'll probably not have enough juice for the latest AAA titles no matter what GPU you add to this aging processor, and even moving to an i7 won't help much either, except in heavily threaded games. But if your aim is to play older (say, pre-2020) titles at the most beautiful settings they can manage, then go for it.
I put this card in a optiplex 9020 ssf and it worked but not for everything ( no rebar ). I can play Helldivers 2 (in dx11 smooth gameplay choppy on dx12) and days gone at around 35-45 FPS, valorant 80-90 fps BUT NIOH 2 gets 4-5 FPS haven’t tested much else. The card would be good but only on a 10/11th gen pc build both pc and motherboard need to be 10th/11th gen (plus rebar) to get the full potential from the card sadly.
@@glocklesnar882 They don't need to be 10th Gen or newer as Re-Bar is supported as part of the PCIe Gen3 spec. It's just a matter of being able to enable Above 4G Decoding and Re-Bar in the BIOS.
I managed to get farther than you did on modding the bios, somehow, but it was weird. When I used the extraction tool it gave me an HDR file, and I worked with that. That had all the things in the guide and I was able to follow the steps as necessary, only I was never able to actually flash the bios because apparently Intel Management Engine is """unsupported""" on this machine..even though I've seen it work for other computers.
If you plug a dual width card into your 4x slot, you’ll get about a 7-9% performance hit, but it’ll still probably outperform a single width card in the 16x slot.
the only way i found the rebar thingy parts is because i just backed up my own bios image; i would probably not recommend but if you wanna try, you do you fam :3
Thank you for covering ARC with no rebar. It would be great if Intel could provide a budget sff solution. It seems we are back to relying on Nvidia - rtx 3050 6gb.
yes, since AMD didn't bother to release an RX 7400... :( Of course if they had it would probably be the same story and have no encoder anyway. AMD could beat NVIDIA if only they'd get their heads out of their asses! Sadly, they won't.
Sadly, the PC industry has things backwars, as SFF parts tend to be more expensive than the full size versions. It would be great if the RTX 4000 Ada SFF (There's a full size version of it which has a higher TDP and requires a power connector) didn't cost 1200 bucks.
@@BrunodeSouzaLino it's about market share, I would think. More people are looking for big-boy video cards than are looking for half-height and possibly single-slot as well (no point in JUST single slot but full height, really). But with many bargain hunters going for SFF office PC refurbs and wanting cheap, decent options for video card upgrades, you'd think that market could get served better? Maybe it's just not worth it to companies to go through the trouble of designing and manufacturing a board that small. IDK, there's at least one I know of (Songrey/SRhonyra - who made my GTX 1050 4GB SSLP) that seems to specialize in them. They're actually pitching them to the server market as "2U height" which I guess it is... hadn't thought of that angle before. I tell you what, if I had the capital and engineering know-how to do it, I'd start up a company JUST for this market niche. Sure, why not. That and all the other misfit toys.
Just a titbit, I'm 9900k @5GHZ and a 2070S @ 1998MHZ at 1440p {72C both so no thermal major throttling [2011MHZ @ 70C and lower on GPU its next step down is 74c usually to 1892MHZ FPS stay the same]} i get 2049FPS in starfield measured with RivaTuner too. Starfield is just a bag of Bethesda garbage XD like always we need modders to fix their game.

Why don’t they just make a resizable bar driver that auto turns on.
