Ralph Viscusi So true. I recently watched the Dean Martin Friars Club 'roast' of Frank, and at the end Dean made a really emotional and moving speech about how he felt about Frank. It was the most serious I have ever seen Dean, who was usually so lighthearted, and I'm not ashamed to admit that it really took me by surprise and moved me to tears. Dean was of course known as something of a loner, but for once he really let his guard down and you could see the really incredibly close bond these two seemingly very different men had.
I'm neither a fan nor hater of Sinatra, but I have plenty of admiration for Martin (and I'm only a teen). They were so close like brothers, as you said. They had political and religious disagreements but they chose to respect each other and not allow these differences to get in their way. I say, looking at their friendship in spite of their differences, people can learn a lot from Martin and Sinatra.
Frank: "my story is much too sad to be told" Dean: "and I don't want to listen to it". Frank: *loudly* "When I'm out on a quiet spree" Dean: "you wanna hold it down, there's somebody sleeping back there" GOLD
My dear father loved these dudes and their music, Dad played ragtime on his piano but could pick up on any genre e,g, The Beatles. I didn't understand it at all as a wet behind the ears rock lover but now at 63 I wish I had known the joy of sharing more music with my father now that he's gone.
LOVE HEARING THESE COMMENTS FROM YOUNG TEENS, YA GOTTA LOVE THEM CLOWNING ON STAGE WITH SONG & DANCE SUCH SERIOUS PEOPLE TAKING TIME OUT TO CLOWN AROUND & AALL THAT JAZZZZ🙌🙌🙌🙌😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Loll, same. Im 17 as well. I've been into this kinda jazz for bout 4 years now, and it keeps me company when im working late on school, or just watchin the rain out the window while reading.
One of my favorite clips of all time! I watch it all the time... Such talented, funny guys just having a blast together! I agree with what's already been said...never again will we see talent like this and a time like this in showbiz. So sad, but true.
Te Ga ragìon..i xe magici.. podessi vardarli anca mi de continuo senza stancarme. Two magic guys ...all unforgettable, soul and heart..all the best from Trieste....huge hugs☀️🌈♾️
There was something about Dean that I liked more than Frank. His voice and his poise and his comedy self, but he also looked badass. To me he was the one who stood out. I liked old blue eyes too. But dino was my dude. Lol
Nobody.. I mean nobody can top these two.. they had a magic that can't be duplicated. There are many talented artists out there, but not all will love on forever through their talents, music and charm such as these two gents..
I watch this video every night as it is one of the best ones I have every seen. Dean and Frank were funny and great singers. We don't have that anymore. Still love them......Betsy Basile
I'm 16 and I have loved Sinatra and Martin for 4 years now, I have never met a single other person even near my age that as ever even HEARD of these legends. Very disappointed in my generation.
I'm not 16 but disappointed with this generation! Not going to get any better, you guys were born too late, the world now - yuck! Btw, '"Sonny Boy' was Frank imitating Al Jolson.
Noahmrv Hi I'm 14 years old I feel the exact same way! I asked my art teacher if I could do a drawing of Dean Martin and she asked "who's that?" I died!
I love these two guys and have loved them for about 65 years now. A joy to watch Dean Martin, he really is a very funny guy and a great joy to listen to Frank Sinatra, one of the best voices of the 20th century.
There's nothing to ever say when you sit and listen to these two great singers and perhaps the best entertainers together or a part , they will live forever in all of our hearts . . . . . .
Gnat Bermbaum You're so right. Sinatra had the technique and the phrasing that he learned from working with the big bands, but for me Dean had a warmth in his voice that just touches you and makes you smile inside In a way that Frank never could.
Gnat Bermbaum well, it's not that I don't like Dean, he's awesome, but Frank sings sad songs better. I mean La Vie En Rose is not even a sad song but the way Dean sang it kinda killed it for me. Bit he has masterpieces like That's L'Amore and Volare of course
Dean and Frank........Love this video. The two of you are just perfect when you do these Medleys. I love them so much and I am glad that we can see them still. Still love you both....BB
Crash64100 In interviews, they always said their relationship was more like brothers than just friends. Even their families were close, and their children called each of them 'Uncle Frank' and 'Uncle Dean'
I don’t know why cable stations all over America don’t play these priceless tapes/film on a regular basis . The world would be a better place to live .
Man, I love this. Memories of my absolutely fantastic Dad who thought he actually was Sinatra, Martin or Sammy Davis Jr, given a a 'shout' for a song. Tbf, he was sh*t hot at the old singing. I could watch these guys all day.
Watching this in 2019. I’m just a youngling with 17 years, and these two are the most influent singers in my life. I keep dreaming that one day I will eventually come at least a bit close to their talents. Love Jazz, love swinging. Today Michael Bublé is pretty close to them, I’m hoping to see more amazing Jazz lovers rising in the years to come.
They were multi-talented. They could sing, dance, do comedy, both were also great actors. Frank won an Oscar for From Here To Eternity as Maggio. My favorite movie of theirs was Robin And The 7 Hoods which is a close second to Ocean's Eleven. These were men before men became boys and they are without a doubt a timeless treasure. I'm only 39 but I've been listening to this genre for decades because of my grandma. And even though she's passed on I feel her presence when I put on same classic Sinatra or Dino. Thank you so much for sharing this!
God should let us vote on which ones can come back ! These two were such a blessing for all of us to enjoy . I miss them and their music !!! Never again will we see this true talent, respect, and love for each other. I hope they are having fun together where ever they have gone. Cheryl
I love Sammy and he was genius, and many others these fellas partnered with, even my fave lady Ella Fitzgerald...but together, this was the best twosome. So natural with each other and funnily competitive. Such talent.
2021 and i'm drawn and enjoy it. My Dad watched these legends and of course as a youngling, watched as well. It makes me smile to watch.. thank you for putting together.
Two of the greatest entertainers ever to grace the stage.
True..
@@gaburiii “The only male singer who I've seen besides myself and who's better than me, that is Michael Jackson" - Frank Sinatra.
You forgot Perry Como
Gabri,,,,,,,,,Sammy Davis Jr. was coined Mr. Entertainment for a reason , clearly the greatest ever .
Absolutely True :D
With voices like that, they can goof around all they want, they earn it.
❤️🥰
Frank and Dean were the most best of friends, like brothers. You can tell in everything they did together. A very heartfelt relationship.
+Ralph Viscusi beautiful voices!
Two italians from different Nona's.

Frank: "my story is much too sad to be told"

Somniosus microcephalus. You have a great taste of music my friend. Don't hide it from your friends, praise it.
Welcome to the club buddy, there are others who share your sentiment - as well as your age it would seem!
2:28 idk if Dean forgot his line or got distracted but Frank gives him a little elbow bump it's so smooth, these guys were goddamn profesional
Wow
I'm 17 years old and a couple of years ago I discovered this couple of talented men, I became a big fan from the first moment I heard them.
Same here. I’m 16, and when I heard them in seventh grade, I was hooked.
i was 10 when I found the two

Erry Rollins These two were the absolute definition of class. And cool. And just just all round wonderfulness....
Weren't these guys hardcore boozers and drug abusers?
AllWillFail no they weren’t
AllWillFail dean didn’t like to drink to much but Frank like to party a “little” bit

Frank's little stomp & clap at 3:45 😂 best thing I've ever seen. These two... they are THE best. Forever. And always.
Never be another two like these
Simon Hunter the closest thing is Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake

The concentration of talent on this video is infinite.
Never will see it again. The best

I don't think we'll ever have this kind of music again... 😒😔😟....
Who Knows ! Stay positive :) Hope is life

Seth MacFarlane releases some fantastic music.
His latest album In Full Swing is amazing.
Francis Albert I don't deny he's missing some pizzazz but it's still a great listen
Probably not trends change
They were having such a blast.
Many times they were drunk as hell, lol.

I am 16 and love this kind of music. Miss these times :(
I honestly can watch these two forever, what a pair of guys
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, and sure didn’t expect to see it here
Masters. When they're funny it's genius and when they harmonize it's heavenly.
the class of these days.
This was class for sure, can't compare them to any musicians of today's. Sad but true, Love Frank and Dean
TWO OF THE GREATEST SINGERS OF ALL TIME
That´s real class A++. Ther is no one presently with such a class and style.
Two funny guys. I miss them.
Happy 100th Birth Anniversary Mr. Martin! (June 7, 1917 - December 25, 1995)
There was something about Dean that I liked more than Frank. His voice and his poise and his comedy self, but he also looked badass. To me he was the one who stood out. I liked old blue eyes too. But dino was my dude. Lol
From what I’ve heard, Frank also idolized Dino.
He’s a performer first and a vocalist second which makes him more
Fun to watch
Nobody.. I mean nobody can top these two.. they had a magic that can't be duplicated. There are many talented artists out there, but not all will love on forever through their talents, music and charm such as these two gents..
Good clean entertainment. Miss you guys.
Dino and Frank

im 22 and i love this music!
Gelie Peronce you are never too young for excellence!
I watch this video every night as it is one of the best ones I have every seen. Dean and Frank were funny and great singers. We don't have that anymore. Still love them......Betsy Basile
Miss them both...Dean with his perfect nonchalance and Sinatra with his spot on impeccable style. This is gorgeous.
You can't get any more classy than that.
They don't make like this anymore.
Truly entertainers!
I thought this said mate like this
Frank's voice was in rare form here. My God he had THE VOICE!
But dean literally sounds better?
the best of the best voice forever, thank you both.
I lost it when Dino did that little wiggle after Frank said “champagne”
the most beautiful thing in the life when listening to Sinatra and Dean Martin
Oh man, brings tears of gratitude for these extraordinary talents!
I'm 16 and I have loved Sinatra and Martin for 4 years now, I have never met a single other person even near my age that as ever even HEARD of these legends. Very disappointed in my generation.
you're not the only one who is 16 and is disappointed in this generation
I'm not 16 but disappointed with this generation!
Not going to get any better, you guys were born too late, the world now - yuck!
Btw, '"Sonny Boy' was Frank imitating Al Jolson.
Agreed.
Noahmrv Hi I'm 14 years old I feel the exact same way! I asked my art teacher if I could do a drawing of Dean Martin and she asked "who's that?" I died!
Noahmrv Don't be afraid, you aren't alone (I'm 18), and I completely agree with you
I can watch these entertainers over and over again its called entertainment with no screaming and horrible lyrics.
I love these two guys and have loved them for about 65 years now. A joy to watch Dean Martin, he really is a very funny guy and a great joy to listen to Frank Sinatra, one of the best voices of the 20th century.
Unsurpassed and never outclassed. Funny and supreme. Both are dearly missed. Thank you gentlemen for the music and the stellar performances.
There's nothing to ever say when you sit and listen to these two great singers and perhaps the best entertainers together or a part , they will live forever in all of our hearts . . . . . .
Frank had the more powerful voice, but I personally prefer Dean's voice. I think he was more versatile.
Gnat Bermbaum You're so right. Sinatra had the technique and the phrasing that he learned from working with the big bands, but for me Dean had a warmth in his voice that just touches you and makes you smile inside In a way that Frank never could.
Gnat Bermbaum Yea the whole thing is kinda like Whitney and Mariah. Whitney's voice is stronger but Mariah's voice is more versatile.

You’ve got some great influences there, youngling!
That is very Good music.... With very GOOD interprète... Think you for this delicious moment.
They were multi-talented. They could sing, dance, do comedy, both were also great actors. Frank won an Oscar for From Here To Eternity as Maggio. Love this performance! It's always brilliant to see them just having so much fun. Especially love the "i Get a Kick OUt of You" one
Can't believe it's been 23 years since we lost Mr. Sinatra aka The chairman of the Board. R.I.P. hope I get to see you and ur pal Dean.

Legends today could never compare to these two, Greetings from Mexico City.
Like hearing Dean and Frank singing a medley of songs. Love these guys.
Frank had the greatest voice of the twentieth century but had to take a back seat to Dean, the greatest performer, ever.
I love these boys so much, I can't even... :,)
8 minutes and 45 seconds that feel like a moment. Time is really relative. I love these two guys.
I must watch this like 3 times a day I love it so much
Just here for a refresher in class.
