Great line up quartet Scott! John Pearce/ Dave Green are great/ top London jazz musician! Steve Brown too (never heard his). Greetings from Jazz man, Kuala Lumpur!
Great performance as usual by Scott ... Very very nice audio and video production ... Top rate! Nice to hear a tenor saxophone that doesn’t sound like a kazoo ( modern jazz tenor players ). Coltrane ruined everybody .... I mean I love Coltrane for what he did but then everyone decided that was the only way to play ... Very thin sound and setup for speed and chord substitutions / pyrotechnics every bar of every tune regardless of what the song intended. That’s why I love Scott ... great melodic playing ... fantastic rich sound ... very easy to listen to all nite ... That’s just me tho .. LOL ...
not just you .that's why i mostly listen to Scott and larry mckena as they play to the melody with out that raspy ugly sound . every note says somethng .
i completely agree. i dislike saxophonists who can't play 2 bars without reharmonizing the fuck out of a progression. ppl need to study more lester young and coleman hawkins
I don't think that many younger jazz players are actually interested in playing music.I think they use their instruments to attract attention, and to display cleverness.i.e."Look how clever I am.Look how fast I can play.Look how many chord substitutions I know"etc.
Scott is always swinging, melodic with a gorgeous, proper tenor sound, marvellous. Also rhythm sections come no better than Pierce, Green and Brown. Great song too.
Oh yes! He's one of these guys who, all u have to do is listen, & u know who it is! U don't even need to see him! That tone, phrasing, & feeling, the one & only Scottt Hamilton!
I saw this same group in the same place last saturday, and they are absolutaly great, and as a amaterur drummer myself I don't know how Steve Brown is not famous as hell, he's really great. I loved his holed crash and I would like to know waht cymbal is that to buy one
I knew Steve 30 years ago, played with him on occasion when I had no right to be playing with someone so good. He was from Manchester UK, he was well regarded even back then.
Scott's jacket looks like it came straight from the drycleaners! Crumpled up with quite a few cigarette butt burns in it and red wine and pizza topping stains on it would be more in keeping with the sleazy mood of the music.
Simply wonderful. If you have not seen Scott live with this quartet......................GO! You will not be disappointed.
The great Scott Hamilton, top tenor sax man. There are a few of the current so-called 'Jazzers' who need to listen to this and learn.

Hamilton me parece un saxofonista extraordinario con un sentido de la armonia y feeling para sus interpretaciones.
やはりハミルトン!! 素晴らしい!!
Man. How to sound and swing like that?! Love Scott.
Gorgeous stuff
Very Nice!
Always absolute amazing !!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🎷🎷🎷

Scott at the same level of a Ben Webster! Great tenor!
Scott Hamilton-the preeminent saxophonist in jazz today!
Does anyone know if Steve Brown is contactable or if there is any way to keep up with where and who he is performing with? What a joy this band is
I knew Steve 30 years ago, played with him on occasion when I had no right to be playing with someone so good. He was from Manchester UK, he was well regarded even back then.
How do I get my alto to sound like this 🤣
Camera guys should be killed. Is it so difficult to simply film the musician who is playing the solo?
