Sons of Temet are the 'shock of the new', I hated Jazz all my life but loved dub reggae and African music since I was a punk in the 70s, but this unique band mixes it all together in a most delightful way. They are musical pirates and their booty is for all to share.
I’ve been a fan of all of Hutchins’ projects for years now, but for some reason I’ve never heard the man speak until now. From how complex and gorgeous his compositions are I felt like he’d sound far more serious than he actually does. It’s great to see that even musicians who create works of art as mesmerizing as Hutchins does can be laid back and even a bit goofy.
I have been waiting for this...Tuba rocked the planet...@ 7:45 I busted it hardcore...2 drummers nice...Afro drummer on right side, I wanna party with you...You know what's poppin...great job guys
So profound and capitative this muscular and virile soundscape, BEWARE the invoked ancestral tour-de-force in entwined possessed gambols with the unarmed unassuming boppers. THE EQUALISING POWER ODDBALL MUSIC FOLK
Now I see Theon Cross in perspective... Dude... genius....I think Mother Love Bone had the dual drummers... and later do did the breeders...or was that dual bassists. 🤔

Ishijah1 nobody made music like this in the 50's. But to answer your question: I guess because they dig it! I imagine its a lot of fun to play together like that :)
And now after all these years this project is ending, with only two original members left. Sad to see one of my favorite groups go
Seb always looks like he’s squeezing in a spot of drumming while he’s waiting for the kettle to boil. It’s so effortless.
I have returned simply to note this might be my favourite YT comment ever

Anyone know what kind of mouthpieces king Shabaka uses in this? Looks funky
Now I see Theon Cross in perspective... Dude... genius....I think Mother Love Bone had the dual drummers... and later do did the breeders...or was that dual bassists. 🤔

Sons of Kemet 🧐🤔...hmmm.....
I like these Sons of Kermit! What l want to know is why any self- respecting son of his is not wearing green ?
Kemet is the correct name of Ancient Egypt.
😂Jonathan Still
post-jazz?
Such a post-opinion opinion... ;)

That guy's hair....
The Smile should’ve been Thom Yorke, Johnny Greenwood and all of Sons of Kemet, not just Tom Skinner.
NO MELODY in there. Just a beat....
dah fuck is wrong with that cat's hair?
With all the technology that is available
why does jazz musicians feels that they have to make jazz sounds like it 1950's
Ishijah1 nobody made music like this in the 50's.
But to answer your question: I guess because they dig it!

I don't get what you mean, what about this sounds like 1950's to you?
wha? music deals nothing with tech, it's about expression, jazz all about it
Are you looking for edm?
What are you talking about? This sounds very much like its time. Clear hip-hop and modern funk influences here.
Tyler the Creator can play the sax?
This is not real jazz srry!
Shut the fuck up my man
I get it. But it is similar.
That's what was said at the advent of swing and be bop and everything else that wasn't traditional New Orleans jazz. What is your definition of jazz?
dudes with complicated hair distract from the art
???
That's why we have eyelids.
so overrated
By whom?
