I liked the old Ed Coan "bridge" RDL, where you let the weight float in front of you, hanging straight down from the shoulders, then bring it in to the body as you stand tall and lock out. Less weight, massive stress on the erectors, glutes and hamstrings. You can snatch grip and deficit it etc.
i bought a trap bar and almost immediately got rid of it. the hack deadlift is just better as a quad-y deadlift and they feel amazing with heel elevation. my bar had an open face and I didnt even like it for lunges. if you get a specialty bar Id get an SSB.
The way I do a stiff leg DL: RDL as low as you can go, round spine to make up the difference. Basically a conventional DL with zero quads. I like this style because you can still go reasonably heavy while getting a good stretch on the hams and removing any quad fatigue or knee stress.
I found the Zercher Deadlift was the partial range of motion of the Jefferson Curl. As such, I just Jefferson Curls now and a even better tip i found was to keep you legs together and knees locked. This gives the movement maximum range of motion and really targets those weak links in the lower back.
Trap bar deads are literally the only compound lift I do (besides calisthenics) and it’s only once a week. Oh well at least it’s from the low handles 😅 Started 5 weeks ago at 185lbs x 20. Now at 225lbs x 20.
Low handle trap bar is imo probably in a similar league as sumo. Less stimulus, but more ROM. But yeah, overall I think about different deadlifts more as strength builders than as mass builders.
do you or the audience have advises about the wlbows in the zercher desdlift? I've tried to do them with theack jacket and with other stuff to ease on the inside of the elbows but beyond 90 kg it's not helping for me... anybody have solution/ advises?
easier to teach a noob than conventional so its very normy friendly. i feel like the trap bar is best used for carries. thats the only thing it does better than any other variation.
This video was released 3 hours after hitting my all time high zercher PR, 355. Thank you sir
355 is very good, congratulations!
@atlaspowershrugged thank you boss man

RDLs and Trap bar deadlifts are incredible
Is that herosovyac 1:26
Yep
Indeed.
I replaced squats with trap bar deadlifts (off a deficit) and have seem improvement in overall leg development.
Interesting

I would almost exclusively use a trapbar for carries/ farmers walks.
@@srthyrdyjhy i just didnt have a conveniant setup for that so i got a big sandbag and used that for carries among other exercises
Sandbags are awesome for loaded carries. I also use then for Zercher Squats. I can use less weight and also drop it safely if I feel tired/weak.
Fantastic video. I wish I had known this years ago
Thanks!

Great vids as always
Glad you like them!
I have degenerative disc's so I do sets of 15 rdls and it's helped a lot on a belt squat machine, soon on barbell 😊
I finaly was able to do a real zercher deadlift. The Jeferson curl helped alot to get the flexibility needed
Deadlift is great for mass, especially with slow eccentric and touch-and-go repetitions.

Before watching the vigeo, I'm guessing jefferson curls are number one.?

You mentioned the limb lengths mattering a lot for the hack one, could you elaborate on which limb lengths make it beneficial or not?
What's your opinion about Reeves deadlift?
The Reeves deadlift is actually a shrug. doesn't work as advertised
Odd question: which movement do you personally use more weight on (given comparable rep ranges) RDL or ZDL?
Great question! My rep pr at 315 on ZDLS is 17, 8 or so on RDLS. But I'm very strict on rdls, not at all on ZDLs
legend
What would be the general purpose of a trap bar deadlift? I don’t understand why I see so many people do them.

Overloading the uppertraps
To pretend that you can deadlift more.
He kinda covers it in the video but these comments cover it too
You can generate more power more quickly, very useful in multiple sports.
Conventional deadlift for the win !!
What do you think of goodmornings and 45 degree back extensions?
@petar.dj98 also great options, but hard to classify as deadlifts
What’s the verdict on seated deadlift variations?
What are the advantages of a snatch grip RDL?
More ROM and more Upper back stimulus
Play nice with your twin brother Joel! Don't make me tell you again lil bro
Rdls are a top 3 lift for me
@@droogbear649 for pretty much everyone serious!
Your video editor is spoiling your rankings btw
Goddammit. Oh well it's up
But how am I supposed to Farmers walk If I don't deadlift the trapbar?
That's different, I'm specifically talking about the deadlift here
❤❤😊❤
