Engelbert Humperdinck - Die Wasserrose

"Die Wasserrose" ist 1878 während Humperdinck's Zeit an der Königlichen Akademie der Tonkunst in München entstanden. Die hier erklingende Bearbeitung von Thomas Probst lehnt sich stark an das Autograph des Komponisten an, wo er in der Klavierbegleitung die Stimmführung sehr deutlich macht und die Struktur wie für ein Klavierquintett gemacht wirkt.
Die Aufzeichnung entstand im Juli 2020 im Rahmen der Aufnahmen der CD "More than a Myth - Chamber Music & Songs by Engelbert Humperdinck".

"Die Wasserrose" (The Water Lily) was written in 1878 during Humperdinck's time at the Royal Academy of Music in Munich. This arrangement by Thomas Probst leans heavily on the composer's autograph, where he makes the polyphonic structure very clear in the piano accompaniment and it seems to be made for a piano quintet.
The recording was made in July 2020 as part of the recording sessions of the CD "More than a Myth - Chamber Music & Songs by Engelbert Humperdinck".
