Dugan was above your average man in hand to hand combat or a lesser skilled fighter but one on one in a real hand to hand fight against a true karate Grandmaster trained since he was an infant learning to walk in the Miyagi-Doh Okinawan bred karate like Mr. Miyagi. Miyagi wiping the floor with Dugan is putting it mildly. Ned and his friends and security JHROTC fraternity combat teammates aka wannabe Cobra Kai high-school fraternity brotherhood rip off realized in their character shifting and redemption for acting under Dugan's demented influence and instruction that they followed the wrong leader. At that Miyagi toyed with Colonel Dugan to humiliate and emasculate Dugan further and inch by inch as Dugan used his own mislead, brainwashed adolescent/early adult staged high-school security fraternity students as human punching bags to show off his superior combat training and hand to hand Army basic skills of close combat to humiliate those brainwashed teenagers. If Miyagi went as hard and pummeled Dugan as fast as Miyagi did against John Kreese twice and Kreese's protégé, best friend, most skilled student with Johnny Lawrence a far marginally off the charts by skill comparison second to Silver and also Kreese's Vietnam War buddy, it would've been an even more quick and laughably effortlessly one sided beatdown/fight. John Kreese or Terry Silver, teenage or adulthood Chozen or Mike Barnes or teenage or adult Johnny Lawrence would mop the floor with Dugan and his students easily alone or against the whole Alpha Elite high-school security fraternity brotherhood JHROTC squad. Dugan's most skilled, strongest and most physically imposing student and pupil was Ned. With Eric Mcgowen a close second to Ned as Dugan's secondary most skilled and strongest student evenly matched but narrowly less skilled than Ned. Whom Eric couldn't hit once in the 5 on 1 Alpha Elite pack attack beatdown with the four Alpha Elite members randomly attacking him in turn vs jumping him all at once and Ned dropped Eric all throughout everytime Eric swung at Ned.
This movie was horrible, but I wish they put it in the Karate Kid movie collection I bought, and not the Jaden Smith one. They literally put in 1, 2, 3, and the Jaden Smith movie. I'd rather watch this one.
