- Two outstanding John Deere garden tractor collectors we met in Indiana are Darren Redding and his late father Mark Redding. Darren and Mark collected and restored Deere machines together for years. This includes the colorful John Deere Custom Color or "Patio" series tractors that were offered in 4 unique color combinations, unlike the traditional green. And, being close to Purdue University, Darren and Mark decided a black and gold machine - Purdue colors would be something to add to the mix. Watch and enjoy and be sure to like and subscribe!

We had a basic green 110 mower tractor. I remember a Saturday in May 1989 spending almost all day mowing the grass with it. Less than 30 days later I was in San Diego, California at MCRD going through boot camp.

Excellent story. I enjoyed this. I have a 1969 Ford 120. All original and complete. Maybe it’ll make it on a episode of Classic Tractor Fever here soon. It’s about to make a 565 mile trip across Tennessee to raise money for St. Jude’s.

A few years back I was going to turn a stock 110 into a blue Patio. I ran the paint code and it came back on a ‘69 Corvette
Lawn and garden tractor Jacobson riding mower with a Kohler engine and it's all cast it's a hydrostatic it's only got one gear forwarded one gear and reverse are there you push the lever forward the faster it goes same thing in reverse I was thinking about putting it up for sale I gave $100 for it but it needs some work done to it now I believe the carburetor needs but it is a very good AllCast
I heard it somewhere that they were the colors that they chose because they wanted something to appeal to people the way different car colors did. Legend has it they looked out in the parking lot and picked some of the more popular car colors to use for the design. I also have seen in sales literature or somewhere similar that they were painted to match peoples’ patio furniture, hence the term ‘patio’. But like he says in the video, it could be to butt heads with their competitors by giving those color options in their own garden tractors.
