Just because something came out of the earth naturally doesn't mean it's necessarily better for you, or for the environment (and also vice versa)

I really like that tarte bronzer, but no one talks about it! It’s definitely pigmented but very creamy, and you get SO much product! Anyways, I’m glad to see someone using it too!!!
The Tarte cream bronzer was my go-to before I ordered the Fenty cream bronzer. Now I go back and fourth and top with Tower 28! 🤘 Summer tan all year around. Zero regrets 🤣💜

I agree with some of your points, but I have to say that “clean beauty” often uses well-established synthetics and chemicals. As a person who has sensitive and acne-prone skin, I have looked into clean base products and skincare. I found that they don’t break me out or cause any sensitivities. I used to get breakouts every time I wore foundation, but not anymore. There are “clean beauty brands” that have more eco friendly packaging and commitments, but I believe all beauty brands should look into doing this regardless of their stance. I still look at the clean section at Sephora, but I take that claim with a grain of salt. It can be helpful for people like me who look to avoid certain ingredients like parabens and talc.

I remember using Wet n Wild’s contour duo and I had pimples along the hollows of my cheeks, where I put the contour product. I always could feel itchiness and after a few hours, a pimple would form on my face throughout the day. I started researching why that could be. Parabens came up as a possible reason and I started to buy other products that did not have that as an ingredient. I had better results but my pores were always still clogged and I had tiny bumps all over my skin. I read that silicones can clog pores and after removing that from my life, my skin has been better than ever. I have tried clean makeup through samples and have been happy with it. I don’t care as much about ingredients when it comes to eye products though. I still buy and use eye products with parabens.

The dichotomy of "clean" beauty vs unclean/dirty/other is what gets me. Elitistism can and can't have mentality is reinforced as "clean" beauty is inherently more pricey. I appreciate that you have entered a trial and error elimination of an irritant to figure your skin out which makes you sound more pragmatic with your approach to selection of products. Unfortunately there are people out there though that blanket buy into the lists of "clean" ingredient no no's without any critical thinking and that's plain marketing fear mongering. I get that there may be benefits if a company tries to implement "eco-friendly" practices but again there is no standard for the term (btw I'm not trying to be a smart ass using " " because the terms are vague).
