You could take arcs into consideration , because sakuyamon waS a combination of love and reliabity she was the protective mega and healing mega, terriormon would courage with their studying martial arts to protect , and the with death of a friend leomon dieing would fit guilmon as the crest of friendship
I'll just say this, for Ryo, I'd give him the crest of Kindness to show his connection to Ken. Sort of having it a shared crest between to the two, or possibly Ryo left it behind for Ken to watch over him.
I'd give him Miracles, for the same reason. Since it's the one with with the strongest connection to Kindness (both because the crest of Kindness basically became the Digimental of Miracles, and also because Miracles is the closest thing Davis has to a canonical crest). It would also fit how he kind of shows up out of nowhere, learns to biomerge off-screen, and...basically everything that happens in the Wonderswan games.
For Suzi I think Lovely Angemon would be a better mega than Lordknightmon. Not only she has twin tails, making a connection with Lopmon, Turuiemon and Luminamon, but she also specializes in close combat like Turuiemon. Also, crest of light and a female Angemon...
Friendship is perfect for Rika because most of her character growth ties to friendship, not only learning to not be so solitary and make friends but also working on her relationship with her family and even her partner as she and Renamon did have their issues of being two lone wolves trying to work together. It reminds me of when Davis and Veemon's relationship was stressed during the episode that premiered Raidramon and the Digimental of Friendship only instead of an episode one-shot it was a whole character arc over the first arc of the show.

Sakuyamon's blue fox spirit is actually one of four. There is a water element (blue), fire (red), lightning (yellow), and wind (green). The spirit is also a kudagitsune - which is what Kudamon was based on as well. Mitamamon has those 4 colored flames at its feet and each represents the same attributes as Sakuyamon's kudagitsune. I think it is safe to at least call Kudamon and Renamon related species, so Mitamamon is a really good alternate mega for her.
I actually just had some really cool custom tokens made for the card game that feature these kudagitsune on them. But I ordered 10, so naturally, I just had them print all 10 symbols from the frontier spirits on their foreheads. The card that will use these tokens isn't even out yet, but I know I'll get it because Renamon is my go-to deck.
For unique crests for the Tamers I always liked the following Takato- Crest of Creativity Henry- Crest of Peace Rika- Crest of Spirit Jeri- Crest of Life Ryo- Crest of Skill Kazu- Crest of Cheer Kenta- Crest of Loyalty Suzie- Crest of Innocence Ai and Mako- Crest of Compassion
I'm glad that you also see Ruki as "the Yamato" of Tamers, to this day I still find it amazing they gave her a lot of visual similarities and lone wolf type as his Adventure self.

This probably wouldnt happen because it would make some big changes to the tone and plot of Tamers in a way people might not like... But what if we gave the miracle and destiny crest to Jeri and leomon and impmon and his partners. Think about it like this. Beelzlemon finally deciding to do good and help the main cast in the final fight. He reaches out to try and save juri.. and in that moment.. he fulfills his destiny, the destiny that was given to him when he defeated leomon and took his data. Slide digivolving to a new form as the crest awakens and he *performs a miracle* releasing Leomons data, andd that combines with Juris love for Leomon and the crest of Miracles awakening inside causing the miracle of Leomon coming back and warp digivolving. I'm not entirely sure what form I would give each of them. But i think its a fun idea that could work.
I think Ryo should of gotten the Reliability crest bc good old Ryo is alway dwn to save the digital world But I guess being pure enough to sacrifice himself for this never ending battle Is ok also.

Mitamamon is an excellent Renamon friendship Mega, though I think Kyukimon would work as a better bridge to that from Kyuubimon than Tylinmon would. It keeps the Japanese yokai theme, and has a better visual connection with the sleek speedy look.
Even if Rika and Henry and the rest got unique crests, Takato would absolutely get the Crest of Courage anyway. He would point out and geek out over the fact that his belonged to the fictional Tai and Davis.
I adore biomerge conceptually, I love Digimon Tamers, but for some reason they don't feel right together. The only thing that feels worse is Frontier*, but that has more issues than the Spirits completely missing the point of Biomerge. I do like the Spirits, but they should precede Biomerge, not follow. *I retract my earlier statement, I had forgotten Xros Wars existence.

I fell off the franchise after Frontier but I did just recently binge Digimon Ghost Games and Digimon Tri and it made me fall back in love with the franchise. Even though the crests themselves are only really present in the Adventure series, I've always loved the idea that they're sort of this nebulous power in the Digital World that any Tamer could harness if they embodied the associated virtues. So a video like this is right up my alley!

I'm fine with what you chose for Rika. But it's also worth noting that the Crest of Love still would work as well. A big story beat was that Renamon couldn't evolve until Rika started showing feelings and actually caring. Watching Rika start as some cold hearted "only power matters" kind of person to eventually even saying she loves Renamon, yeah tell me the Crest of Love doesn't work.

For Dobermon, an outlier pick that may seem a bit random but could work is having Dobermon becoming Maildramon (if it was an ultimate/perfect level like in some media). I know that it's Miracles evolution but Maildramon to me has always seem like a Destiny digivolution cause of the egg showing the wing headpiece. You could say that Alice's and Dobermon's destiny was meeting each other and Dobermon being incased in armor to protect Alice. As for a mega, I kind of like Anubismon as a solid Maildramon mega as it could showcase Maildramon breaking free from its protective armor and becoming a god like deity, showing destiny of wanting to protect Alice.

I do love this concept but I would also love to see your take on unique crests for the Tamers cast too. The DoruGreymon route I actually really like because the flaming fists of that new Mega gives me Flamedramon vibes. For the most part I agree with your choices but I think using Sovereigns defeats the point of it being a Sovereign which of course is a concept both Adventure and Tamers use, but I don't know what else Labramon would become at the Mega level.

You nailed it perfectly. I would give both crests to her, both themes are part of her character arc like you said. Love for her mother, grandmother, Renamon and herself and friendship for Takato, Henry, Juri and the others. I would elaborate a bit more on this but if I said the wrong thing some fans would be angry for daring to suggest what I wanted to say.
I always go back and forth between Rika being the Matt or Sora of Tamers. I feel like she fits friendship at the start, but the way her relationship with her family heals, and the more defensive and protective role she takes as Sakuyamon make me feel like she would be closer to embodying love. (Even if she would probably hate getting that crest in canon.) Basically, if we were doing an alternate take on Tamers, friendship works, but in a theoretical sequel, I'd go love, if pressed to give her one.
Id give Jeri the crest of hope because i feel like that was what leomon was trying to give Jeri before he died and what she needed to pull herself through the darkness but i can also see if she got kindness to kinda parallel Ken from A2
In a headcanon Fanfic where the Tamer characters end up in the Adventures universe, i gave all the Tamers characters (apart from the main three) their own crests to make it easier for me.
If we're assigning the "golden" crests too, I'd give Destiny to Jeri and Miracles to Ai and Mako. Receiving their digivice was a kind of wish/miracle in the first place, but more notably them allowing Impmon to perform an actual miracle when he was able to turn back into Beelzemon and use the toy gun to unlock Blaster Mode. Not to mention that time Beelzemon became so desperate to save Jeri he was able to call on Leomon's strength, which would have even worked had Jeri chosen to reach back. As for Jeri, she basically declared Leomon was her destined partner and made it so. Then she suffered what could be considered the more inexorable side of destiny, with Lemon's death and everything that led to with the D-Reaper.
Did they stopped using cards pretty fast in tamers? They could used crest from the cards to do something or give digimon different moves seeing gallentmon using wargreymon nova force would cool.
They used the card boosting effects pretty regularly on their Rookie and Champion levels, and had to use them to evolve to Ultimate. I think they lasted longer the Digieggs did, now that I think about it.
From a character perspective (Not so much an evolution idea since IDK what I'd do for it) but for Jeri I would go with Hope as her crest. It's very much an element of her character to have wanted Leomon to become her partner, hoping he'd come around by running after him, only for him to deny her yet she holds hope he might come back. Even asking Rika later if she became a good tamer could Leomon want to be her partner. Which then results in that happening when she saves Leomon thus fulfilling that hope only for it to be stripped from her once Leomon dies, breaking her and turning her hope to despair which is then harvested by the D Reaper, only to once more find the hope to standup to the D Reaper and use that power to break free at least before Takato fully saves her. I feel this chest is perfect for her and fitting with your idea of digivice color while hers is Yellow and not Gold it still is a similar color to the Crest of Hope especially since Miracles and Destiny fit more for the golden colored ones. So it works very well just not sure on an evolution line besides maybe keeping yours since angel wings are an ascetic of Regulusmon. As for my other nitpick I would say Love can work for Rika. Her arc is about learning to love and care for those in her life namely her partner and her mother. The heart broken shirt shows who she is at the start but her heart mends and she becomes more loving as the show progresses. Equally, when she biomerges into Sakuyamon a lot of her character in that form is being a protector and helper someone who shows love and a desire to protect others. While yes I get not wanting to give this to her cause she's a girl, I'd say her arc is about embracing love for others and learning to love others. Yes Friendship does work but I do think love is fitting for her as well. And in the sincero where Rika has Love and Jeri has Hope then Kenta gets Friendship which works with his bound with Kazu and the idea of the duo being allies and friends to the main trio and Rio.

I feel that the crest of love deserves more respect. Too many see it as the lame girly crest. Rika's character development revolves around her learning to open up her heart to others. She and Renamon go from fighters, seeking strength to dominate others, to protectors. Rika even said that, as Sakuyamon, she felt a great compassion for all living things and that became her new motivation for fighting. Doesn't make her any less of a badass.
For Alice’s Labramon, the Bastemon to Junomon idea can work. Bastemon has basis in Bastet, a daughter of the goddess Isis. While we don’t have an “Isismom”, Isis was the sister-wife of Ra, just as Hera/Juno was the sister-wife of Zeus/Jupiter. Hera/Juno are also associated with peacocks, hence some of Junomon’s design elements. Peacocks are native to India and the Middle East, and while Bastemon’s belly dancing also originated from Egypt, is also commonly associated with the Middle East. I’d say it works :)
This was a neat idea and I can def see how a couple of crests can be switched depending too. Like Ryo makes sense with Sincerity(Purity) but him having Kindness due to association with Ken & Adventure also makes just as much sense. Also if Tamers DID have their own unique crests I wonder how that would work? Would they be literal like Adventure or would each kid have what is akin to a Blue card specific to them that essentially could act like how the crests do in adventure through Digimodify, and if so would this add in the potential for them to "trade" cards and use them like the Digieggs from 02? Its such a fascinating thought.

Especially in the original, a huge theme of Jeri's arc following the death of Leomon is about the nature of fate. Her whole struggle with the D-REAPER is really one about whether or not tragedy is unavoidable. I think destiny is kind of underexplored in the broader Adventure canon (RIP to your one appearance you bizarre egg), but Jeri's arc really feels like the kind of exploration one could expect with that crest. Learning to come to terms with life and the hardships it brings is about accepting that while bad things happen, good things do as well; the infinity-like symbol of the crest itself is honestly such a good visual for what it feels like they were going with for Jeri's arc. I have a lot of really specific opinions about the crest of destiny tbh so that might color why I read into it so much but ANYWAYS. Homework for myself from this ep is trying to figure out some lines for the crests I didn't agree with your takes on, because this shit is always fun lol. Thanks as always for the vids!

Love is a component but not all of it and the Blue Heart is her OWN heart fixing, not her suddenly being a Love Crest emblem. Also that completed heart still doesn't actually look like the swirly heart of the Love Crest. My like hottest take? It would be a 02 situation and she'd get Friendship and Love lol

I like the idea of ryo mega being milliniummon. Hype it up like it’s a dark evo but becase of the bonds formed not just with ryo who fought hard to keep cyberdrsmkns violence in check but tskato and the others help is able to bring out his true form but with a clear mind
Passion would be great as a custom crest for Takato since his passion for Digimon is literally what created Guilmon in the first place. Also, I'm sure he, Kenta, and Kazu at some point argued over which crests they'd each have.

i like the idea of leomon becoming hippogriffomon to gryphonmon. maintaining a more bestial form throughout the digivolution, with gryphonmon being half lion I think it would be an awesome match to both saberleomon and holsmon in design AND keeping a more flying bird theme! plus I love the idea that the crest of hope represents mythology, belief and HOPE for some greater force in the universe! tying in various mythologies to hope I think is super cool, since there are a lot of digimon based off mythology that don't really get a lot of love!
I just had an interesting idea for a video. I know you've done Purified Spirit and Beast Spirit evolutions before for Tommys bullies/friends. But what about if the Frontier team each had a 2nd purified spirit (kinda like how Adventure 02 kids used 2 crests... Takuya: Steel JP: Earth Tommy: Wood Zoe: Water Koji: Darkness (technically Koichi did give the Dark spirts to him near the end) Edit: I was just thinking you could go even further, and the fusion evolution combines the 2 types, for example Takuyas fusion evolution is a combination of Fire and Steel.
As far as main protagonists who could be given a non-courage Crest, Hiro and Haru are probably the best candidates. They're both definitely still brave types but for Hiro especially I definitely think he's got a stronger argument for Love as a crest based on how much of his character is defined by love and care/nurturing for his little brother dinosaur
Takato having the crest of reliability is the best in my opinion Maybe even play it like 02 and give them more than 1 crest if able. Just watched Episode 14 of Tamers again and it would just fit so well
Interesting to note; Rika does get a whole heart shirt later when she mends her relationship with her mom. Also, as much as Takato exemplifies Courage, his treatment of Guilmon and his friends may make him a shoe-in for Kindness as well. An interesting place to take this may have been each of the main three starting with one crest, then acquiring a second as they grow and mature. Kindness and courage, knowledge and reliability, friendship and love. They could have each had two Ultimate evolutions suited to different situations, then the dual crests synthesize a new Mega.

I'd assign the crest very differently, but I'd come at it from a very different angle. Your focus is more on creating cohesive lines using existing Digimon that draw on themes and elements from canon lines, provided the traits are reasonable, whilst I'd go more for making the traits line up as closely as possible and worrying about the Digimon later. With that in mind, I'd go as follows: Takato: Kindness Henry: Knowledge Rika: Friendship Jeri: Courage Kazu: Sincerity Kenta: Reliability Suzie: Hope Ryo: Light Ai & Mako: Love Takato is so kind. He reaches out to those around him, he welcomes in those without partners to the group and makes them feel wanted, valued, important. Megidramon happens when in his anguish he turns against his kindness. Gallantmon happens because he wants to fight alongside his partner gallantly. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and it bleeds for everyone. Meanwhile, Jeri. She has a lion's heart. Jeri's courage is sometimes like Matt's friendship, in that because of the world around her she loses sight of it. But when confronted with Digimon, she immediately leaps into action. Thanks to her friends fighting for her, she finds the courage to fight on against the D-Reaper. Kenta has reliability in part because... I'm just not sure what else to give him. He has the least of an arc out of all the characters - at least Kazu had to work with Guardromon to become partners, Kenta is just handed a mega for no reason and just doesn't do much... but I guess he's always there? Kazu gets sincerity, as much as I would like to give him reliability - but I think that makes him and Kenta a nice pair, at least. He's much more about speaking his mind. Suzie is a big old ball of hope. Shes just so bright and full of optimism, seeing the best in everyone. Ryo gets Light, because... he's there. I mean, light doesn't really mean anything, it's not a personality trait, it's a special bonus crest that shares its name with its holder. I'd have given it to Kenta, but at least giving it to Ryo means its gone to a special member of the group... Ai & Mako. What better crest for two siblings who share a partner than love? Their love for each other and their partner. Impmon left because their squabbling drowned out their love. Blast Mode is unlocked by their renewed love. Now, the digivolutions those crests would grant is a story for another comment 😂
I feel like a good mega for Dobermon using the Crest of Destiny would be Cres Garurumon. It's a canine digimon that has armor made of Gold Digizoid, just like many of the other Destiny/Miracles armors. As for the Ultimate/Perfect stage, I always thought that Jaeger Dorulumon was a good pre-vo for CresGarurumon. It also serves as a neat name transition; going from Do-bermon to Jaeger Do-rulumon and then to Cres Ga-rurumon.
While I definitely see where you’re going with giving Rika Friendship, I really do think Love would be an almost perfect pick. One of her biggest character arcs is her relationship with her mom, struggling with her own feelings and eventually showing her love and compassion. Hence eventually getting the shirt with a full heart replacing the broken heart.
I didn't mean to write a whole essay about this idea, but I did. :D I think for Takoya, I'd honestly go for the Frontier spirit line. Or maybe Vritramon/BurningGreymon to BlitzGreymon instead, since Vritramon has arm guns that could cover his arms and become BlitzGreymon's guns, but has a more consistent colour scheme than RizeGreymon who is only partially red. Another contender, I would say, for Henry's mega with knowledge could be either GranKuwagamon or GrandisKuwagamon. The former being a closer homage to HerculesKabuterimon, except being the other side of the coin so to speak, and Grandis following the weaponized route that Gargomon started. (I really wanted to use Snimon to Grandis, but sadly Snimon is a champion and I was misremembering his level.) I know GranKuwagamon and GrandisKuwagamon (Maybe? Wiki doesn't actually state any allegiance for Grandis) are supposed to be evil, but maybe a Megidramon type scenario can happen where he turns into GranKuwagamon from MetallifeKuwagamon as a dark digivolution but GrandisKuwagamon as his proper evolution. Maybe JewelBeemon to GrandisKuwagamon so there's more of a visual connection with JewelBeemon being green? Either way. Plus it would be really interesting seeing Henry getting the dark digivolution instead of Takoya. He has more to lose when the kids get to that point, especially since Suzi is there (if I remember correctly). His emotions clouding his judgment and his protectiveness causing him to panic when Suzi is in danger would be a really hard hitting story point. Rika and Jeri are really good picks. Honestly no comments about either of them. Rika's friendship with Renamon is also really similar to Matt and Gabumon's so it fits like a glove. Jeri is a pacifist and wants everyone to get along, promoting love over violence. BloomLordmon for Ryo is SO GOOD. His partner was always trying to be good and was corrupted, seeing it become a demi-god like heroic digimon and then a fully heroic knight is just chef's kiss. Not sure which Suzi line I like more. I think Illumimon to LordKnightmon if Henry gets TigerVespimon (or GrandisKuwagamon, like I suggested), and Crescemon to Dianamon if he gets HerculesKabuterimon. That way their megas are either very similar size and fighters, able to compliment each other in the middle of a brawl, or with Dianamon being able to support the big hulking HerculesKabuterimon with her magic and arrows. Kazu is totally reliability and that's a great line. His Guardromon was used for transportation a few times in the show (and movie) already, so seeing him get bigger transports and a huge military fortress would make him faint in happiness. I think Kenta starting with MarineAngemon, his hope for a partner gifting him an "Angemon", and having it end up dedigivolving (maybe after a big sacrificial moment akin to Angemon?), only for his hope to be able to help his friends again one day cause his now Penguinmon/Dolphimon to start digivolving, but into this new, potentially more powerful, route would be an excellent storyline for his character. That Impmon line is fantastic. Impmon learning how to be kind instead of pranking people, eventually turning into this distinguished gentleman looking digimon. 10/10. I honestly wouldn't give Minami or Alice a crest. The crests were these big triumphs that the kids overcame, arguably, themselves in order to achieve. Symbols of their growth as people. We barely see Minami or Alice long enough for them to be characters, let alone grow. Plus it would make the other kids' ability to go beyond champion that much more impactful as a story beat.
Henry feels more Reliable than Knowledge. You're thought process wasn't wrong, but Henry feels like he needs to be the one Relied upon for things, including looking after his little sister for his parents, and then giving him that moment of loss when realizing his sister got transported to the digital world, making him feel unreliable and then ultimately bringing that reassurance back for his Mega digi-form.

I have what I think is a cool idea for a video: What if: Tai and all the other children from Digimon 01 were not children, but humanoid Digimon that look like this in their rookie form? Tai would then be at champion level: Agumon Bond of Bravery, Matt would be at champion digimon: Gabumon Bond of Friendship. Now the question: What could the other champion forms and all digivolution lines up to the Super-Mega level look like if you follow the theory further?

I think the theme around Alice is death. She herself was dead/had died and her Dobermon died to deliver the power of the sovereigns to the tamers. Thus either Plutomon or Anubimon would be more appropriate. Probably Anubimon because of the golden elements to his design. There's also a connection to be made between the inevitability of death and the crest of destiny (in this case with the meaning of "fate", as was Alice's life fated to end prematurely). I'll just say this, for Ryo, I'd give him the crest of Kindness to show his connection to Ken. Sort of having it a shared crest between to the two, or possibly Ryo left it behind for Ken to watch over him.

I'd give him Miracles, for the same reason. Since it's the one with with the strongest connection to Kindness (both because the crest of Kindness basically became the Digimental of Miracles, and also because Miracles is the closest thing Davis has to a canonical crest).
It would also fit how he kind of shows up out of nowhere, learns to biomerge off-screen, and...basically everything that happens in the Wonderswan games.

Friendship is perfect for Rika because most of her character growth ties to friendship, not only learning to not be so solitary and make friends but also working on her relationship with her family and even her partner as she and Renamon did have their issues of being two lone wolves trying to work together. It reminds me of when Davis and Veemon's relationship was stressed during the episode that premiered Raidramon and the Digimental of Friendship only instead of an episode one-shot it was a whole character arc over the first arc of the show.

Sakuyamon's blue fox spirit is actually one of four. There is a water element (blue), fire (red), lightning (yellow), and wind (green). The spirit is also a kudagitsune - which is what Kudamon was based on as well. Mitamamon has those 4 colored flames at its feet and each represents the same attributes as Sakuyamon's kudagitsune. I think it is safe to at least call Kudamon and Renamon related species, so Mitamamon is a really good alternate mega for her.

I actually just had some really cool custom tokens made for the card game that feature these kudagitsune on them. But I ordered 10, so naturally, I just had them print all 10 symbols from the frontier spirits on their foreheads. The card that will use these tokens isn't even out yet, but I know I'll get it because Renamon is my go-to deck.

This probably wouldnt happen because it would make some big changes to the tone and plot of Tamers in a way people might not like... But what if we gave the miracle and destiny crest to Jeri and leomon and impmon and his partners.
Think about it like this. Beelzlemon finally deciding to do good and help the main cast in the final fight. He reaches out to try and save juri.. and in that moment.. he fulfills his destiny, the destiny that was given to him when he defeated leomon and took his data. Slide digivolving to a new form as the crest awakens and he *performs a miracle* releasing Leomons data, andd that combines with Juris love for Leomon and the crest of Miracles awakening inside causing the miracle of Leomon coming back and warp digivolving.
I'm not entirely sure what form I would give each of them. But i think its a fun idea that could work.
I think Ryo should of gotten the Reliability crest bc good old Ryo is alway dwn to save the digital world

Mitamamon is an excellent Renamon friendship Mega, though I think Kyukimon would work as a better bridge to that from Kyuubimon than Tylinmon would. It keeps the Japanese yokai theme, and has a better visual connection with the sleek speedy look.

I adore biomerge conceptually, I love Digimon Tamers, but for some reason they don't feel right together.
The only thing that feels worse is Frontier*, but that has more issues than the Spirits completely missing the point of Biomerge.
I do like the Spirits, but they should precede Biomerge, not follow.

Even though the crests themselves are only really present in the Adventure series, I've always loved the idea that they're sort of this nebulous power in the Digital World that any Tamer could harness if they embodied the associated virtues. So a video like this is right up my alley!

I'm fine with what you chose for Rika. But it's also worth noting that the Crest of Love still would work as well. A big story beat was that Renamon couldn't evolve until Rika started showing feelings and actually caring. Watching Rika start as some cold hearted "only power matters" kind of person to eventually even saying she loves Renamon, yeah tell me the Crest of Love doesn't work.

For Dobermon, an outlier pick that may seem a bit random but could work is having Dobermon becoming Maildramon (if it was an ultimate/perfect level like in some media). I know that it's Miracles evolution but Maildramon to me has always seem like a Destiny digivolution cause of the egg showing the wing headpiece. You could say that Alice's and Dobermon's destiny was meeting each other and Dobermon being incased in armor to protect Alice. As for a mega, I kind of like Anubismon as a solid Maildramon mega as it could showcase Maildramon breaking free from its protective armor and becoming a god like deity, showing destiny of wanting to protect Alice.
I love the shinygrey into blitzgreymon line. But man dinomon looks really good as an evo for guilmon. Good picks!

I do love this concept but I would also love to see your take on unique crests for the Tamers cast too. The DoruGreymon route I actually really like because the flaming fists of that new Mega gives me Flamedramon vibes. For the most part I agree with your choices but I think using Sovereigns defeats the point of it being a Sovereign which of course is a concept both Adventure and Tamers use, but I don't know what else Labramon would become at the Mega level.

Rika would be Friendship/Love given her arc of becoming more friendly with everyone and her story of learning to love her family, Renamon, and herself.
You nailed it perfectly. I would give both crests to her, both themes are part of her character arc like you said. Love for her mother, grandmother, Renamon and herself and friendship for Takato, Henry, Juri and the others. I would elaborate a bit more on this but if I said the wrong thing some fans would be angry for daring to suggest what I wanted to say.
I always go back and forth between Rika being the Matt or Sora of Tamers. I feel like she fits friendship at the start, but the way her relationship with her family heals, and the more defensive and protective role she takes as Sakuyamon make me feel like she would be closer to embodying love. (Even if she would probably hate getting that crest in canon.) Basically, if we were doing an alternate take on Tamers, friendship works, but in a theoretical sequel, I'd go love, if pressed to give her one.
That's a really balanced take, I like that!
In my dream setup it'd be like 02 and she'd get two Crests, Friendship and Love!

In a headcanon Fanfic where the Tamer characters end up in the Adventures universe, i gave all the Tamers characters (apart from the main three) their own crests to make it easier for me.

For Alice, I could see her Dobermon digivolving with the Destiny crest to Weregarurumon and then to Cresgarurumon.
If we're assigning the "golden" crests too, I'd give Destiny to Jeri and Miracles to Ai and Mako. Receiving their digivice was a kind of wish/miracle in the first place, but more notably them allowing Impmon to perform an actual miracle when he was able to turn back into Beelzemon and use the toy gun to unlock Blaster Mode. Not to mention that time Beelzemon became so desperate to save Jeri he was able to call on Leomon's strength, which would have even worked had Jeri chosen to reach back. As for Jeri, she basically declared Leomon was her destined partner and made it so. Then she suffered what could be considered the more inexorable side of destiny, with Lemon's death and everything that led to with the D-Reaper.
Did they stopped using cards pretty fast in tamers? They could used crest from the cards to do something or give digimon different moves seeing gallentmon using wargreymon nova force would cool.
They used the card boosting effects pretty regularly on their Rookie and Champion levels, and had to use them to evolve to Ultimate. I think they lasted longer the Digieggs did, now that I think about it.
From a character perspective (Not so much an evolution idea since IDK what I'd do for it) but for Jeri I would go with Hope as her crest. It's very much an element of her character to have wanted Leomon to become her partner, hoping he'd come around by running after him, only for him to deny her yet she holds hope he might come back. Even asking Rika later if she became a good tamer could Leomon want to be her partner. Which then results in that happening when she saves Leomon thus fulfilling that hope only for it to be stripped from her once Leomon dies, breaking her and turning her hope to despair which is then harvested by the D Reaper, only to once more find the hope to standup to the D Reaper and use that power to break free at least before Takato fully saves her. I feel this chest is perfect for her and fitting with your idea of digivice color while hers is Yellow and not Gold it still is a similar color to the Crest of Hope especially since Miracles and Destiny fit more for the golden colored ones. So it works very well just not sure on an evolution line besides maybe keeping yours since angel wings are an ascetic of Regulusmon.
As for my other nitpick I would say Love can work for Rika. Her arc is about learning to love and care for those in her life namely her partner and her mother. The heart broken shirt shows who she is at the start but her heart mends and she becomes more loving as the show progresses. Equally, when she biomerges into Sakuyamon a lot of her character in that form is being a protector and helper someone who shows love and a desire to protect others. While yes I get not wanting to give this to her cause she's a girl, I'd say her arc is about embracing love for others and learning to love others. Yes Friendship does work but I do think love is fitting for her as well. And in the sincero where Rika has Love and Jeri has Hope then Kenta gets Friendship which works with his bound with Kazu and the idea of the duo being allies and friends to the main trio and Rio.

I feel that the crest of love deserves more respect. Too many see it as the lame girly crest.
Rika's character development revolves around her learning to open up her heart to others. She and Renamon go from fighters, seeking strength to dominate others, to protectors. Rika even said that, as Sakuyamon, she felt a great compassion for all living things and that became her new motivation for fighting.
Doesn't make her any less of a badass.

For Alice’s Labramon, the Bastemon to Junomon idea can work.
Bastemon has basis in Bastet, a daughter of the goddess Isis. While we don’t have an “Isismom”, Isis was the sister-wife of Ra, just as Hera/Juno was the sister-wife of Zeus/Jupiter.
Hera/Juno are also associated with peacocks, hence some of Junomon’s design elements. Peacocks are native to India and the Middle East, and while Bastemon’s belly dancing also originated from Egypt, is also commonly associated with the Middle East. I’d say it works :)
This was a neat idea and I can def see how a couple of crests can be switched depending too. Like Ryo makes sense with Sincerity(Purity) but him having Kindness due to association with Ken & Adventure also makes just as much sense. Also if Tamers DID have their own unique crests I wonder how that would work? Would they be literal like Adventure or would each kid have what is akin to a Blue card specific to them that essentially could act like how the crests do in adventure through Digimodify, and if so would this add in the potential for them to "trade" cards and use them like the Digieggs from 02? Its such a fascinating thought.

I think I gave Alice and Minami their respective crests for reasons similar to the crests you gave them in the vid, but that aside I actually want to zoom in on Jeri's pick being Destiny here.
Especially in the original, a huge theme of Jeri's arc following the death of Leomon is about the nature of fate. Her whole struggle with the D-REAPER is really one about whether or not tragedy is unavoidable. I think destiny is kind of underexplored in the broader Adventure canon (RIP to your one appearance you bizarre egg), but Jeri's arc really feels like the kind of exploration one could expect with that crest. Learning to come to terms with life and the hardships it brings is about accepting that while bad things happen, good things do as well; the infinity-like symbol of the crest itself is honestly such a good visual for what it feels like they were going with for Jeri's arc.
I have a lot of really specific opinions about the crest of destiny tbh so that might color why I read into it so much but ANYWAYS.
Homework for myself from this ep is trying to figure out some lines for the crests I didn't agree with your takes on, because this shit is always fun lol. Thanks as always for the vids!

I like the idea of ryo mega being milliniummon. Hype it up like it’s a dark evo but becase of the bonds formed not just with ryo who fought hard to keep cyberdrsmkns violence in check but tskato and the others help is able to bring out his true form but with a clear mind
Passion would be great as a custom crest for Takato since his passion for Digimon is literally what created Guilmon in the first place. Also, I'm sure he, Kenta, and Kazu at some point argued over which crests they'd each have.

i like the idea of leomon becoming hippogriffomon to gryphonmon. maintaining a more bestial form throughout the digivolution, with gryphonmon being half lion I think it would be an awesome match to both saberleomon and holsmon in design AND keeping a more flying bird theme!
plus I love the idea that the crest of hope represents mythology, belief and HOPE for some greater force in the universe! tying in various mythologies to hope I think is super cool, since there are a lot of digimon based off mythology that don't really get a lot of love!

As far as main protagonists who could be given a non-courage Crest, Hiro and Haru are probably the best candidates. They're both definitely still brave types but for Hiro especially I definitely think he's got a stronger argument for Love as a crest based on how much of his character is defined by love and care/nurturing for his little brother dinosaur

Also, as much as Takato exemplifies Courage, his treatment of Guilmon and his friends may make him a shoe-in for Kindness as well. An interesting place to take this may have been each of the main three starting with one crest, then acquiring a second as they grow and mature. Kindness and courage, knowledge and reliability, friendship and love.
They could have each had two Ultimate evolutions suited to different situations, then the dual crests synthesize a new Mega.
Yeah but even the whole heart doesn't actually resemble the Crest, it's missing the swirls!

I'd assign the crest very differently, but I'd come at it from a very different angle. Your focus is more on creating cohesive lines using existing Digimon that draw on themes and elements from canon lines, provided the traits are reasonable, whilst I'd go more for making the traits line up as closely as possible and worrying about the Digimon later.
With that in mind, I'd go as follows:
Takato: Kindness
Henry: Knowledge
Rika: Friendship
Jeri: Courage
Kazu: Sincerity
Kenta: Reliability
Suzie: Hope
Ryo: Light
Ai & Mako: Love
Takato is so kind. He reaches out to those around him, he welcomes in those without partners to the group and makes them feel wanted, valued, important. Megidramon happens when in his anguish he turns against his kindness. Gallantmon happens because he wants to fight alongside his partner gallantly. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and it bleeds for everyone.
Meanwhile, Jeri. She has a lion's heart. Jeri's courage is sometimes like Matt's friendship, in that because of the world around her she loses sight of it. But when confronted with Digimon, she immediately leaps into action. Thanks to her friends fighting for her, she finds the courage to fight on against the D-Reaper.
Kenta has reliability in part because... I'm just not sure what else to give him. He has the least of an arc out of all the characters - at least Kazu had to work with Guardromon to become partners, Kenta is just handed a mega for no reason and just doesn't do much... but I guess he's always there?
Kazu gets sincerity, as much as I would like to give him reliability - but I think that makes him and Kenta a nice pair, at least. He's much more about speaking his mind.

Ai & Mako. What better crest for two siblings who share a partner than love? Their love for each other and their partner. Impmon left because their squabbling drowned out their love. Blast Mode is unlocked by their renewed love.

I feel like a good mega for Dobermon using the Crest of Destiny would be Cres Garurumon. It's a canine digimon that has armor made of Gold Digizoid, just like many of the other Destiny/Miracles armors. As for the Ultimate/Perfect stage, I always thought that Jaeger Dorulumon was a good pre-vo for CresGarurumon. It also serves as a neat name transition; going from Do-bermon to Jaeger Do-rulumon and then to Cres Ga-rurumon.
10:11 I was sure that you would say Hippogrifomon to Griffomon, as both are basically the fusion of a feline + a winged beast.
While I definitely see where you’re going with giving Rika Friendship, I really do think Love would be an almost perfect pick. One of her biggest character arcs is her relationship with her mom, struggling with her own feelings and eventually showing her love and compassion. Hence eventually getting the shirt with a full heart replacing the broken heart.
If you ever do custom crests, Takato absolutely deserves the Crest of BREAD with the dark evolution summoning forth the BAKERY HAZARD

I think for Takoya, I'd honestly go for the Frontier spirit line. Or maybe Vritramon/BurningGreymon to BlitzGreymon instead, since Vritramon has arm guns that could cover his arms and become BlitzGreymon's guns, but has a more consistent colour scheme than RizeGreymon who is only partially red.
Another contender, I would say, for Henry's mega with knowledge could be either GranKuwagamon or GrandisKuwagamon. The former being a closer homage to HerculesKabuterimon, except being the other side of the coin so to speak, and Grandis following the weaponized route that Gargomon started. (I really wanted to use Snimon to Grandis, but sadly Snimon is a champion and I was misremembering his level.) I know GranKuwagamon and GrandisKuwagamon (Maybe? Wiki doesn't actually state any allegiance for Grandis) are supposed to be evil, but maybe a Megidramon type scenario can happen where he turns into GranKuwagamon from MetallifeKuwagamon as a dark digivolution but GrandisKuwagamon as his proper evolution. Maybe JewelBeemon to GrandisKuwagamon so there's more of a visual connection with JewelBeemon being green? Either way. Plus it would be really interesting seeing Henry getting the dark digivolution instead of Takoya. He has more to lose when the kids get to that point, especially since Suzi is there (if I remember correctly). His emotions clouding his judgment and his protectiveness causing him to panic when Suzi is in danger would be a really hard hitting story point.
Rika and Jeri are really good picks. Honestly no comments about either of them. Rika's friendship with Renamon is also really similar to Matt and Gabumon's so it fits like a glove. Jeri is a pacifist and wants everyone to get along, promoting love over violence.
BloomLordmon for Ryo is SO GOOD. His partner was always trying to be good and was corrupted, seeing it become a demi-god like heroic digimon and then a fully heroic knight is just chef's kiss.
Not sure which Suzi line I like more. I think Illumimon to LordKnightmon if Henry gets TigerVespimon (or GrandisKuwagamon, like I suggested), and Crescemon to Dianamon if he gets HerculesKabuterimon. That way their megas are either very similar size and fighters, able to compliment each other in the middle of a brawl, or with Dianamon being able to support the big hulking HerculesKabuterimon with her magic and arrows.
Kazu is totally reliability and that's a great line. His Guardromon was used for transportation a few times in the show (and movie) already, so seeing him get bigger transports and a huge military fortress would make him faint in happiness.
I think Kenta starting with MarineAngemon, his hope for a partner gifting him an "Angemon", and having it end up dedigivolving (maybe after a big sacrificial moment akin to Angemon?), only for his hope to be able to help his friends again one day cause his now Penguinmon/Dolphimon to start digivolving, but into this new, potentially more powerful, route would be an excellent storyline for his character.
That Impmon line is fantastic. Impmon learning how to be kind instead of pranking people, eventually turning into this distinguished gentleman looking digimon. 10/10.
I honestly wouldn't give Minami or Alice a crest. The crests were these big triumphs that the kids overcame, arguably, themselves in order to achieve. Symbols of their growth as people. We barely see Minami or Alice long enough for them to be characters, let alone grow. Plus it would make the other kids' ability to go beyond champion that much more impactful as a story beat.
Crests and Calumon are both equally good! Most of the picks were solid!

Henry feels more Reliable than Knowledge. You're thought process wasn't wrong, but Henry feels like he needs to be the one Relied upon for things, including looking after his little sister for his parents, and then giving him that moment of loss when realizing his sister got transported to the digital world, making him feel unreliable and then ultimately bringing that reassurance back for his Mega digi-form.
Hello Karn EX. I have what I think is a cool idea for a video: What if: Tai and all the other children from Digimon 01 were not children, but humanoid Digimon that look like this in their rookie form? Tai would then be at champion level: Agumon Bond of Bravery, Matt would be at champion digimon: Gabumon Bond of Friendship. Now the question: What could the other champion forms and all digivolution lines up to the Super-Mega level look like if you follow the theory further?
I think MetalKabuterimon could also work for Henry. It fits with Gargomon's gun arms and blue jeans

I think the theme around Alice is death. She herself was dead/had died and her Dobermon died to deliver the power of the sovereigns to the tamers. Thus either Plutomon or Anubimon would be more appropriate. Probably Anubimon because of the golden elements to his design. There's also a connection to be made between the inevitability of death and the crest of destiny (in this case with the meaning of "fate", as was Alice's life fated to end prematurely).
And regarding the line for the crest of miracles, the perfect stage could be a GoldenCaturamon the same way the Digiegg of Destiny created GoldenRapidmon.
