Hi David. I just finished watching the video which took me two days and I am so tired now that I am going to be very short with my comments. You showed me where my grandmother (my mother's mother) came from as an indentured worker to Trinidad. I can see her now, when she was alive, as this little old Indian lady we called "nanny". Brings back a lot of memories. Thank you for that. Not much more to say, except that I enjoyed the documentary very much. 3 hours-plus long, you are killing me 😂😂😂. Now I have to watch another long one you posted today, Osaka. Lord, give me strength and help me stay awake for the next one. LoL. BTW: no moustache without the beard. Should have shaved it all off. ??? I am filming a Show....the food is being made so that I can film it and show it you all. Its not just some lunch or dinner being eaten for fun. I always film before the food is eaten because who wants to see half eaten food? Also, you realize that the way things are edited, is not the order of events as they unfolded. A lot of footage doesn't make it in the final cut. Do you really want me to spend valuable time showing my staff eating? I can't imagine Gordon Ramsay or Anthony Bourdain taking time out of his show to show his staff eating lunch. And I also do feed my staff and let people eat often before filming. I tire of this criticism because its just not fair and also untrue.
I almost fell asleep watching your haircut and head massage. Looked so relaxing and satisfying. I'm going to try those techniques out on my husband. I know he's gonna love it!!!
David there is a technique of eating fish....that lady should've teach you how to eat the fish....youre doing it completely wrong youre lucky that fish bones didnt get stuck in your throat that would've been very painful...As a Bengali I can assure you if you knew the technique of eating fish you would've seperated every bone from the fish....you have to first use your fingers to seperate bones from flesh ...it is bit tough for first timer but for us we're habituated with this and it is very easy for us ....even Indian from other part of the country cannot eat fish like Bengalis.
David next time you visit kolkata visit Zam Zam restaurant....try their chicken butter masala with garlic naan, Achari Chicken kabab, Tandoori Chicken and their biriyani and Ghol....their fiood is heavenly...I think you missed that restaurant...while youre here in Kolkata.
Bro, the video is awesome but you missed A LOT. The [lady who guided you, did take you to a lovely joint however, she guided you to have the fishes with the Daal which is not at all the culture or the way we eat in West Bengal. Separate gravies and curries are made as each have got a distinct flavor and taste profile so mixing it with Daal ruins the whole intention and purpose. Hope you come back to Kolkata again sometime in future and may be get a proper Bengali foodie to guide you to a lot more that Kolkata has got to offer. 😊😊😊😊😊
