Mine got beat up this summer as well...had to put some 50% shade cloth over...I intentionally planted it in a backyard orchard culture fashion directly East behind my Pixie Mandarin...so eventually it can adapt without full west sun exposure...a variety I have been looking forward to

Well if you want a bunch more costco sells this variety for like $18 and it only took me 2 years to get a decent amt of fruit. I found mine were a bit tart for my tastes but the skins come off so easily I thought something was wrong.

I had the same experience with my first perfectly ripened fig this past Summer (so did my little boy). We split it. He now sits in my lap to watch the TH-cam reviews with me! lol

What Home Depot did you find these at? I live in the Phoenix area and my local doesn't have them. Is there a certain time of the year when they typically have them? I've always heard February is the best time to plant citrus trees. Thanks.

Which is better between Clementine and Satsuma for sweetness and flavour?

I have a 2 year old Owari but I'm starting to think it might have been mis-labeled because it only has 1 fruit on it but that fruit is huge,,its bigger than a valencia orange! Late november and it's still completely green as well. I dont think it will be ripe till february.I'm in north Texas.

Mine too got beat up, it is coming back and hopefully can recover. I had new growth in the fall but the leaves curled up and twisted. I saw on youtube to just go ahead and prune and hope it comes back.

if you get leaf curl it might be fungus. Use coper fungicide

Hi I have one Tango Mandarin tree which I bought 3 months ago and it is full of fruits and I do proper watering and fertilizing but the thing is that out of 26 fruits only 1 fruit has grown bigger (2 inch round ) and now has started turning yellow but the rest of the fruits are still very small (half of this grown fruit) and dark green in colour. Any idea on why they are not ripping or growing bigger like the other one. I'm facing the same issue with my other Calamondin tree Fruits as well but they do ripe but only 2-3 fruits will be in a perfect size and the rest fruits are way too small. From India (Mumbai)...

My Satsuma also hates the heat, has been a slow grower. Seedless Kishu has grown much faster for me, both varieties produce great fruit

Is it sweet? Or some sour or what? Juicy?

Satsumas ripen early and Gold Nugget ripen late. They are good to pair up so you have a longer season. Both taste awsome.

Also the Owari satsuma is one of the more cold hardy😅 citrus.
