- After a successful qualification and win at the US Champs a few weeks back, it's Worlds Time. I'm sitting at 2 weeks out from the biggest meet of the season in Eugene, Oregon for the Track and Field World Championship. Couldn't be more excited to return to my home state to chase my first World Champs victory. Competition will start with qualifying rounds Friday June 15! Wishing you guys far throws - RC

Clutch throw in the 5th round of the Worlds to claim GOLD. Must have been pressure on that with Kovac's monster put and having to wait 5 minutes to throw because of the 110m hurdles final. A lot of time to think about things, comes out with a big response of 22.94m. Congrats, Champ.

Saw a video he threw 115' with a 4kg in 2016
I'm going to guess his 77'2.75" indoor HS record with the 12 pounder. I'm hoping Oregon 2022 is the meet where he finally surpasses his high school PR distance.

Heh yeh. USA lost their premier discus talent to the shot. I'm still hoping Crouser gives the discus a whirl at world level if he feels contented after banging out a couple of Worlds and 2024 OG. He could try for both throws at some point. Of course, comp in shot is fierce with Kovacs nearing 23m so Ryan's gotta be on it for those successes. Tom Walsh not quite hitting the heights this year it seems but can't rule him out and neither Romani.

How do the different weight shots help in your training?
Lower Weights usually help your body learn the technique and/or with speed. Overweights help you keep that technique when you're either tired or wanting to keep pushing the distance
Lower weights help improve speed, higher weights help improve balance
How get to powerful throw
In Shot put
23.45 at Worlds? 23.45 sounds good for Shot Put. It's also Jordan numbers before and after baseball.
