- We install an module for CarPlay and Android Auto for my 2015 Sienna. The 2015-2018 Sienna (most Toyota Entune 2.0) didn't have this feature. They didn't add until 2019. Pre-Entune 2.0 can't use this.

Thanks a lot for mentioning that Carplay can't be used with the FM radio at the same time. I went trough a dozen vids and nobody seems to test or mention this. It is basically a piggy back system with its own confusing user interface. Combined with the low resolution and reduced audio quality I think I will skip this product.
Yea it’s fine for road trips when you want maps and always play stuff on your phone but for daily use, it’s cumbersome. Not a true OEM CarPlay.
Great video, very helpful, thank you for taking the time to make it.
“Senna” that was hilarious lol
There’s lots of mixed reviews of this unit. Some people have it crap out on them or audio quality being very poor. How has yours held up 4 months in?
I have just bought that unit and the audio quality is just as good as the original bluetooth on my Toyota. Just have one problem and that is that the device doesnt always powerup like it should (unit keeps changing audio source and doesnt play any audio from this "unit"). To fix needs to restart the car and the radio same time. i hope to get new firmware and get this resolved
Hello very good review just I have a question, If I'm not mistaken you told that is not posible to use the FM native auto radio with maps, but you can use maps with every single music app?
Correct. No radio sources but anything in CarPlay or Android auto will play.
For Camry 2018 se?
I did install a very similar unit but when I hit Aux nothing happens. Any idea why?
Thx for the nice video!
Is it working with 2015 Limited JBL?
I bought a similar product from the brand 'autoabc' and I think its basically the same product by another manufacturer. However, a few things I've noticed:
1) If you shift to reverse after starting the car before the radio detects this device, the reverse camera doesn't work. Have you noticed that? If so, any solution?
2) My phone is connected to the OEM Bluetooth radio so I always have to change the phone audio output to stream into this device without which the audio doesn't come to this by default. If I disconnect my phone from OEM Bluetooth, it doesn't work at all. Wonder if you faced it.
Same issues. They reversed feed gets taken over by the unit. So if you shift too fast, it’s in the between stage and won’t show a feed. Just take it out of reverse and put back in to show camera.
@@TunerwithKids Yeah it then defaults to OEM radio, you have to then select aux and then press the power/volume button after shifting back to P in order for camera to turn on. I do have audio quality issues as well. The other annoying thing is that you can't see the volume level in carplay mode though the controls do its job of changing volume. Overall, it is a hack that works but in reality, I only found it really useful if I need to use navigation. I'll get my money's worth by using it for an year but after that I may change the head unit to one which comes with carplay in-built.
Question for ya: why did you choose to upgrade your stereo this way versus getting a whole new android head unit?
Cause I wanted to keep it OEM for the on screen cat menus and other stuff that the screen does for this car. I only use the CarPlay stuff during roadtrips.
Can you still use rear entertainment still while at use
need the answer for this too
What must I do
To connect with car
How is this still working, on the fence but seeing a lot of mixed reviews. Most important to me is just connecting reliably, and steering wheel controls working.
It works but I think there are better full android replacements now with CANBUS for same price that will do better. I’m using an iDoing brand android on my Avalon and it’s great. Minor little things that can be annoying but over great for CarPlay and Android Auto. I’m going to try on my Sienna next.
Hello. Can you tell me if it can only be installed on cars that already have Play car/ Android car? I have a Toyota Corolla 2019 with Touch 2 on it but no CarPlay/ Android car.
For cars without CarPlay or android auto.
I was also wondering, based on other TH-cam videos I looked up about this Carabc device. People complained about the audio quality is not as good. What's your thought about it?
Can’t tell audio. But it’s using direct AUX input via the harness. I’m not much of an audiophile so I don’t care.
@@TunerwithKids ok, thanks!!
Hi there, do you get any problems with the original mic of the car after your phone connected the car play? It doesn't work for my car with this when someone calls me.... Do you have any ideas about my situation? Thanks
I haven’t used the phone over the CarPlay connection.
@@TunerwithKidsThank you for your information. 👍
Thank you for the video!!
Since it uses aux, you lose FM?
No FM radio while using Apple play or Android auto.
I don't have 24 pin cable in my car
Do you this head unit that has RES will work with this CarPlay device? Mine is 2015 Sienna JBL with rear entertainment system
It should work. There are two radios that the car came with, you select the unit brand with the dip switches.
My JBL with rear entertainment system I can’t connect. I mean it doesn’t work at all. Maybe something wrong with device. I sent back to supplier and never tried again.
@@ВладАртеменко-ж1в I seem to have the same issue i have no video of the device when i press AUX. I can connect my phone via Car play but i cant see the device menu
Can I watch TH-cam with this, without mirror, thanks in advance
No cause it’s still CarPlay and Android auto. So they restrict cause based on that interface
