Imagine this from the Hive's perspective. A lone human carrying a bunch of guns bursts into your hiding place, and then he just starts to run around and throw tiny hammers in everyone's faces. Where do the hammers come from? Why are the hammers on fire? How many crayons has he eaten in his lifetime?

If you're going to try an easier Dungeon try Grasp of Avarice
you will suffer, but god damn it feel good walking around with your solo flawless dongeon emblem
This is the hardest dungeon out of all of them to solo flawless. Good luck. Mine took me 2 and a half hours and 90 minutes of that was the final boss

Go for Prophecy if you want a challenge or Grasp if you want something easier.
Don't directly jump into the wall that Ghosts of the deep. Get familiar with your build, and how it plays in a solo run. Get used to swapping, letting go of some phases or timers for survival. Then go for it. All the best!

My biggest worries are the underwater part in the second encounter, the moths, and the final boss and her billion health. This one's gonna suck to solo.
It's really not that bad imo, the last boss is a slog but there's very little danger until that point and solar synthoceps really gives you a lot of breathing room. Only one of my flawless attempts was failed due to combat, the rest were just fatigue induced rune screwups.
my first try I got fucked up on that really big leap in the underwater section right before the first boss
if you walk forward and try to immediately jump, the edge has a slight drop so it doesn't register your jump and you slowly plummet to your death
you gotta walk forward and wait a second or two at the edge, then jump

Everytime you kill the knight in a ritual spot the wizard will summon 7 moths but only when that happens, during the phase of rune collecting she will just float around and shoot but no more moths

When the final boss is MORE THAN HALF the video, you know Bungie need to tweak the health a little bit, even if only for solo players.
i dont see an issue with the encounters being giga long except for Play Fatigue could set in very fast.

In second boss fight it seems like briars contempt with surrounded would be perfect. Adds are keeping you constantly surrounded so u will always just have it procced which will be more damage then cataclysmic I believe and it just happens naturally.
Seems fitting that the main weapon of this run was just Hammer.

I mean dungeons shouldn’t really be set up where you can 2 phase a boss solo imo
On one hand, yes. On the other hand, we already have people 3 phasing the boss solo while under level. Maybe it's too much for the non-artifact, play-your-way style of person, but it's not unreasonable for people that aren't intentionally handicapping themselves.
@@mihiyouth12 So work the other way around, get it to a point where they're happy with solo (I.e 3 or 4 phases) and then scale for duo/trio after & see if they're happy with those too

Yeah but this final boss also has probably the most complex mechanics of any dungeon this far. And harder to hit in damage phase

How do u keep your health so high? When I use bonk my health doesn’t replenish that much even standing in sunspot with roaring x3.

Great video. I know Cataclysmic is the LFR king but I wonder how good Briar's contempt would be against the last boss because of the lucent hive bonus in harmonic resonance origin trait
Think it is better, I used it for my solo flawless and got a very comfortable 5 phase.
Honestly as much as I love cataclysmic and use it over any other linear basically everywhere that Id use linears, the lfr is king IF you can hit everything but the minute you start missing a bunch and/or struggle at proccing b&s is the time you start using other things like taipan with frenzy. Taipan for example can use enhanced triple tap + frenzy to proc triple tap even between reloads easily since it reloads incredibly fast + its void, so this season it has 1 energy void mods such as surges and loaders. Sadly volatile flow (a free boss spec like buff for solo players) has gone away this season but its still good.
This is the one encounter that I think taipan is just better than cataclysmic. You just have easy access to void mods, a permenant damage buff along with a massive reload speed difference, a 2 round reload every so often from veist and constant triple tap procs allowing you to just fire off significantly more shots. Who cares if you deal like 10%-20% more damage per shot if you could otherwise fire like 40%+ more shots?
Not to mention if you miss with cataclysmic you end up messing with b&s.
I'm not sure it'd be worth using just for the origin trait. 1x harmonic is about 3.33% increased damage while 2x is about 10%. 10% is pretty good, but forces your loadout a little too much since you MUST have 3 RoN weapons (or Conditional Finality and the new hand cannon). It's definitely an option, but idk if it's worth hamstringing yourself for it.

Biggest piece of advice would be to look out for the lucent moths. Pretty much all my failed attempts was due to one sneaking up on me

Man I tried to just do this solo and made it to Ecthar a couple attempts later I had to just stop or I would start to lose my sanity. Congrats to you I’ll never have guts to do this. 😂
Stuff to watch out for: 2nd boss I didn’t finish the ghost and he came back with health and a shield and all the ads despawned and glitched out so had to leave the activity. The drop into the room before the ghost fight be careful, gravity doesn’t seem to work here and I hit an object by slowly crushing down which nearly killed me. On the boss fight watch out for those moths when the yellow bar spawns. Watch out for the solar hive lucent hive, he killed me with one shot.

In my experience: voidlock + contraverse is amazing for the first and second encounters (then again, everything is amazing for the second encounter because of how it's designed), but SUCKS for the third encounter. Don't take my word for it, I'm not Esoterickk and I'm probably pretty shit at the game, but you're better off running well for the last boss.
Void is very strong because of how available Void Overshields are in the artefact, but Voidwalker is let down by having 3 awful Supers and a not-so-great melee. Many people are picking up Stormcaller, Eso included, because Chaos Reach is in a good spot with Thunderous Retort and you can stack damage resistance like crazy on Arc right now.

The fact Datto is so damn calm almost bored while the only dungeon I soloed was Prophecy and I was in a constant state of panic for 2 hours. Soloing is not good for my mental health. 😅

Yes, you can get the "All one class" and "all one subclass" triumphs by completing each encounter alone.

@@crblalock They can be done solo. The only way it doesn't complete is if you have other players using different subclass elements. The "full clan" run requires three people from the same clan (this one would be ridiculous if you could complete it solo too 😅)

I agree with the hammers! Used bonk Titan a LOT last season and enemies are sidestepping a lot. Console hammers is really tough now...but I'm an old lady, too.

Did the solo last night on hunter, dying a couple of times to dumb stuff. I'm kind of glad they haven't nerfed the health of the bosses because I want to get the flawless done in this state and I'm still salty that FromSoft nerfed Radahn before I got to fight him in his launch state :( Also the only thing I need for the title now is to get the dumb glaive to drop, all good.

@@sykomaniax187 I’ve killed him plenty of times since haha, it’s just not quite the same since he was a weenie for my first playthrough. I killed him while mounted with a bastard sword on a quality build 🤣 I didn’t yet know that quality sucked, and I used the bastard sword because I liked it for being a hipster claymore in DS1 and I found it at the Morne rampart merchant lol
Also I think they reduced some of his hitboxes that are still reduced from launch state.

If you forget the light bearer symbol provided it isn’t the last one you can kill another light bearer to replace the vestige. You have to be fast though because a minute can fly by
Man, I was very annoyed with a 5 phase Perseys, now I gotta do a 5 phase this boss.
My biggest gripe with the health is that, if you can solo 1-3 phases of a encounter, you can do as many as there is. It’s just an extremely tedious slog.
You encourage solo play in dungeons vía emblema and triumphs and then you refuse to scale back the health. Dungeons aren’t difficult to solo. So all you’re doing by not decreasing the health is frustrating the players that are soloing the dungeons.
How do you hit them with the hammer that close? Everytime i get close it just wants to do a normal melee. It's infuriating
Gotta rebind your controller/ keyboard inputs.
If you go to your keybinds you’ll find “charged melee” and “uncharged melee”. Binding a key to charged melee will make it always use your melee ability (in this case, the hammer) and uncharged melee will make it always use the normal punch. “Auto-melee” is the default setting which prioritises the punch when enemies are close.

This dungeon isn’t a hard solo but holy shit is it boring, the last boss took me as long as the rest combined and I know better players than me have 3 phased but the average is still like a 5. Imo needs like a third less health solo, if you can live through like 4 phases you can live through 5/6 making us do the extra is just tedious without increasing any amount of difficulty in the completion

That cataclysmic damage was painful to watch, please anyone who wants to give this SF a go, use something else like sleeper/levi breath/xeno/rockets. You waste so much time reproccing bait and switch after every mag and its incredibly punishing to miss a single headshot let alone a shot entirely, on a boss with random dodges, teleports and lots of ads in the arena cataclysmic is a tragic choice ;-;

Cataclysmic is fine he was just damaging in bad spots the top of oryx head is much better place to damage

Or you could just spam the powered melee key (if you have a spare finger, and have it separated from normal melee). It doesn't have to be so precise if you're able to spam the key.
With the buff It got this season you can get the full charge back, it's pretty awsome
In my opinion, boss health bar should just scale to how many people's is in your fire team.
Final boss is 12 million DPS and she moves agreessive. (Not complaining) just think if your soloing it , the bosses health should be 6 million, with 2 players 9 million, a full fire team, 12 million. But thats just me.
Whats truly annoying is those exploding butterflies. Thats all
I think both the bosses healthshould just be cut in half period. There is absolutely no reason for fireteam scaling in dungeons. It should be easier with 3 people, that’s the entire point of the solo flawless challenge.

12 million damage per second gah dayum! (kidding) Linear health scaling doesn't make the most sense because you're not just adding damage with more people, you're also multiplying by the buffs provided by your fireteam and most likely a debuff being applied to the boss. i.e. with more players, each persons DPS increases by some factor. But that's not exactly your point and I get what you're saying. 12 million damage is a lot for a solo player, I heard rumors they're going to nerf it but I like the idea of this challenge. Not everything should be easy and to be fair there's no timer or limited damage phases

Ended up using Sleeper for Final boss and got him done in 5 phases. Technically 6 if you count the fluke I had before damage, but I call that a minor nuisance. Didn’t even get to do damage in that phase.

1. please don't get solar titans/synthos/resto nerfed
2. with roaring flames up, your punch does half the damage of the bonk. More than enough for most enemy's, still counts as a charged melee, and you can't throw it of the map!
Kinda feels bad that the only way to survive AND do realistic DPS is either via invis or omega sunspot healing

2: For me this dungeon is easier with Assassin's cowl arcstrider than with sunbreaker. I made a few tries with bonk hammer but the healing was not enough on the first boss probably cause of moths. Moths can even despawn when there are too many and you are invisible.
Holding out hope for a nerf or adjustment to the health before I make another attempt. Final boss really tears down your mental but not in a fun way to test the player.
I miss the days of early D1 nightfalls when everyone agreed bullet sponge bosses were bad. Now we've got all these giga brain takes like "ITs SupPoSed To be HaRd iTs NoT mEaNT tO bE dOnE SolO"

@linguinipiny2341 Literally every dungeon Bungie has ever made has had unique rewards and triumphs you can only get from doing it solo.
They literally sell pins for real money you can only buy if you get the title, which you can only get if you solo the dungeon. They clearly want as many people to solo dungeons as possible.
So no, the statement "it's not meant to be done solo" has never and will never be true.

How are you standing so close and still using melee abilities.... I always get the punch when I'm that close
In your settings you can set keybinds (even on controller/console) so you can map your charged and uncharged melee to different keys/buttons

@ThaKingKen change your keybinds to custom settings then scroll down to auto melee and unbind. Bind charged melee to your regular melee button, then being uncharged melee to the same button. It will always use charged melee first if available
Since Datto’s working on a solo guide for the dungeon, it would be cool to see a console friendly option for each class too, since stuff like having a button solely for charged melees are not available to console players, meaning stuff like the bonk build are generally harder to pull off and a little more time consuming in between each attack.
Bind charged and uncharged to the same button on console, it will always use hammer throw first
go to custom button layout, unbind auto melee. bind charged melee first, then uncharged melee second on to the same button. it will always prioritise the charged melee when possible (e.g. you can’t use thunderclap in the air so you just punch in that scenario)
Arc hunter with assassins cowl and a rocket launcher worked great for me. Super safe. Lament for 2nd encounter go for 2 reved lights and a revved heavy, 2 regular lights then repeat
bind your uncharged melee to R3. Keep your Powered melee on R1. Essentially, bind your controller like you would as if your playing Call of Duty, except in this case, your uncharged melee is your stick click, and your lethal (powered melee) is on R1. Set your finisher to double tap Square/X.
@@andrewperez2807 I have played 3000 hours and I never actually saw the ‘custom’ button on ‘button layout’. Thank you for pointing out something that in hindsight is so obvious yet I never bothered to look there.
This enemy is definitely much easier on PC... In console never stops shooting here gets a burst, stops shooting and moves, in ps never stops shooting

First boss is synthoceps, second boss is lorelei's for survivability,, arbalest for boss shield and a bait and switch cataclysmic for boss damage.
For both he's running ember of torches of radiant on melee hit. Roaring flames and Sol Invictus for aspects. Other fragments arent that important but ember solace is nice.
For Armour mods he's running heavy handed for mass orb generation, probably focusing strike for Lorelei's uptime, appropriate resistances (I'd go with arc/concussive for the moths) as well as appropriate surge mods for higher damage.
Fuck Lucent moths! I'd say they're worse than Cabal backpacks 'cause they can be unpredictable of when they want to blow up when they're not in suicide mode. When you're in the thick of things, there's no time to properly assess how many moths are flying in the air and that first death of yours is one of my main concerns about my solo flawless.

man as a voidwalker main watching just how easy and braindead solar titan is hurts so much. like this is what these dungeons are balanced around and voidwalker can't compare even remotely
yeah solar titans kit is just absolutely insane with not only the best survivability but also some of the most consistently high damage and its crazy. like I want to love these dungeons but the solo experience for someone who doesn't use the best of the best builds is awful in the last 3 dungeons we got and it sucks.
No one's forcing you to main only one class and more specifically one subclass. Solar+well is right there for ya for survivability.
