- A quick and easy Hares ear soft hackle / wet fly that will work just about anywhere. Fish it up-stream as an emerger / semi dry, let it drift down stream and as it passes you give it a pull and swing it down and across as a wet fly.

Love it, looks real fishy..

Great pattern, I like using partridge for the soft hackle collar instead
Thanks Aaron, always good with partridge.
Hey Barry, That is a very nice fly. I had bought a couple that looked close to them and they worked great. Do you think you will do a vid on the Clarke's Caddisfly featured in Fly Tyer Magazine?
Thanks Mark, yeah I can do that.
Very nice looking fly Barry. Nicely tied and well explained. Many thanks for sharing.
Thanks Danny.
Quick and easy is always good when the fly looks so good as this one does.
Thanks Gary.
Pure pleasure to watch and one more for the fly box. Thanks from NZ.
Thanks John.
Nice video as always Barry. Commentary was very informative to.👌
Thank you Mark.

Thanks barry..
Thanks ST.
Cool tie, thanks for sharing! KANSAS USA
Thanks Jack!
There is something very satisfying & magical about watching & tying a basic, buggy looking fly. Thank you.
Is there a particular reason why you used the split-thread method of preparing the dubbing rather than making a dubbing loop, or using wax & touch-dubbing the thread?
Thanks fly tyer, I use the split thread technique only for fine and light materials, because its quicker than making a loop and using a dubbing spinner. It also not only holds the material better than just using a wax-touch-dubbing technique but it makes for a buggier dubbing result when spun.
@@Thefeatherbender Got it. Thanks.

Barry! How is life treating you my friend.. summer is over here and the rains have started.. I only got out to fly fish about 4 times this year between the remodel and the fires and this covid thing it has made it a busy year.. My fingers were not quiet ready for fly tying this summer so I have been doing some model building to loosen them up.. (That was a funny experience I used to be good at it) But I think this winter I will be up and ready to tie again.. I have loaned out your book to a couple of friends.. they are smitten.. Great book... People think I am really hip to fly tying now.. ;-) Well this was a great little fly and I look forward to having more time to watch your videos and learn some more good tips.. It is good to see you again my friend! carry on!
All good thanks Tink, I'm the same only a hand full of fishing trips this year, but I hope to make up for it... Stay safe.
@@Thefeatherbender you take care too my brother.. here's to more fishing next year!
Probably one of the most versatile fly patterns there is. Great tie, Barry.
Thats the truth, thanks James.
