Love seeing your cymbidiums ❤️❤️. I have phaio calanthe and they love a small bark moss mix. I let mine dry a bit in the winter and keep them moist in the summer. I wish the flowers lasted longer than a week or 2 😢. Stay safe and enjoy your plants!!
Hi Victoria! Yeah that makes sense to let Phaius dry out a little. I try not to let it be too soggy ever. Mines came in straight moss. But when it’s time to repot I think I’ll do the bark/moss mix too. Thanks so much for watching, take care!
That’s amazing. Mine aren’t particularly fragrant, but they still have a bit of a fresh kind of smell to them. I’ve heard some are very fragrant though. That peachy smell sounds great!
what i look for to find fragrant grocery store orchids is that typical Polychilos lip with small side lobes, generally smaller lip than the Phalaenopsis subgenus lip, and a more 3D look (versus the typical flat Phalaenopsis subgenus lip).
I dropped mine 😢 I had 2 spikes, I now have 1 ... totally gutted because I never had 2 spikes before 😩 ... great update 👍🏼 have yet to watch the rest of the video ... hope all your pets are doing well 😊 My germinyanum is going downhill .. 3 blooms last year & since then, it’s checking out fast
All your orchids are very beautiful it’s always nice to own a special plants where do you buy them ? I don’t find them in the store these type off orchids Good video 👌👌👌
Thanks! Angraecums are the coolest! No I don’t use soil for terrestrials. I like to still use something airy and coarse, maybe spagnum, fine bark and perlite and peat moss. Almost like regular orchid bark/mix, but modified to be a much finer grade, if that makes sense.
I could do with some cymbidium tips , no blooms on mine! I’ve just bought a phias that is some kind of hybrid. White, multi floral, pretty. Strange fragrance, though. Gorgeous angraecum! Hope your lovely pets are well.
Jo Kennedy You’ll have to let me know how your Phaius does and we can trade notes. I’m still pretty new to them. Sure I’ll definitely talk cymbidiums in an upcoming video! Pretty much - they just need a serious chill in the winter, but there’s some other tips I can share too. Thanks for watching!
Yeah they’re a little late. My other two finished blooming a few weeks ago. I guess when I think about it though, they went into spike some time ago, it just took a long time for the spikes to mature. So I don’t think it’s unusual for them to bloom in late winter, early spring. I think it was months ago when I first saw the spikes emerge.
Hmmm. My first guess is more light? I haven’t had mine a super long time, so I haven’t quite figured out all it quirks yet. I’m always weary about angrecoids in s/h, but it sounds like it’s growing good for you generally speaking. I’d keep it a little brighter and see what happens? I think they’re also a bit cooler growing than other Angr, but probably not enough to make a huge difference either way. 🤷♂️
Thank you for sharing! I have microchip but love this Chocolate chip’s lips! And The angraecum! I have this one but variegated. I guess it is rare but I don’t know how rare 🤷🏻♂️ anyway, I would like your care tip for that as well as cymbidium.... mine blasted this year. I guess I kept it too warm.... I thought you would be taking a part for #gvos2020.... if not, you should check this hush tag in TH-cam.
Thank you for showing your beautiful ☺ orchids. They are very healthy as well.

i have two inflorescences on my green and white cymbidium :) i love the smell of cymbidium flowers, a lot of them remind me of white peaches

Right that makes sense. Definitely small waxy flowers too!

I have never owned any but this is making me want to try cymbidium. Yours look so nice!
Love the angraecum!
They are one of my favorite orchids too!
Question - do you grow Terrestrial orchids in garden/potting soil?

Your cymbidium blooms in spring?
They usually bloom in winter.
That's interesting

@@bennetriley1988 that makes perfect sense :)
Angraecum is beautiful. I have the same one, in S/H, lot of air roots, it doubled in size in my care, but can't get it to flower. Tell me your secret.
