Sooo excited people seem to be forgetting the style this is going for. Cosy games are huge and i think it suits a shire based game perfectly. Save all the fancy open world stuff for an action packed game out in the rest of middle earth that has no place in the shire! 🎉❤
I am looking forward to playing the game! As someone who is from New Zealand and has played / streamed other games based on Tolkien's work, I am excited to visit the world from another perspective.
I'm so glad someone the calibur of Darren Ormandy is behind this wonderful game. He has taught Tolkien studies at Tolkien's actual college at Oxford (Merton)!! Incredible!
Are there no shadows in this game? It just doesn't look right, it just overlights everything. The atmosphere has to be right in a game. The way it looks now, it's not for me. Too bad. Or will there be shadows? Greetings The Scary Grandma
Good point hopefully they take that into consideration, keep in mind it's still being made and all feedback can help them create the best version of this game possible
Lol "looks bad, but I'll buy it 😅" oke dude it's a bit cartoony but I'm pretty hyped, i love weta and they know there way around the shire, only time will tell if this game is all hype tho
Looks to be a very charming game. I think my grand-daughter will very much enjoy it. Don't think I've ever heard of "cozy gaming"...but this does look....cozy.
Hmm... Well I am playing Amber Isle, I made my Paleofolk to look like a V Rex. I may skip this one unless Weta Workshop would create a The Isle like Skull Island VR simulation where you can observe the dinosaurs.
Hope well known characters are available. Like annoying wizards and Elvish visitors. hope their is a calendar and future events, like Bilbos 111th birthday etc.
There are three different types of hobbit, I believe the stoors had the capability of growing facial hair, not as heavily as dwarves but they can grow them beards for sure
So we got a garbage gollum game, a decent mine of moiria survival game, and now a hobbit life sim. Yet we cant have a proper open world lotr game... 😒 Look, this game i definitely want to play but we desperately need a bigger budget lotr game. Long overdue for this..
I’m sure you made a lovely game, but this is not for me. All this makes me want is a real shire game, not an animal crossing sims game with a Lord of the Rings logo slapped on it. As someone who has read Beren and Luthian , Children of Húrin, Fall of Gondolin, The Fall of Númenor, The Hobbit, and the LoTR’s Triology, I will say this game doesn’t seem to capture the world of Tolkien, its too morphed by all these animal crossing/sims mechanics. And to a lover of Tolkien, I’m left not upset, but just sad. I’m not knocking your creation, I can tell you all did a lot of work to make the game YOU wanted, but I do think sometimes to make something really special is to go outside one’s own personal bubble and focus on the creator and love for the creator and not to make something “inspired” but make something that is “honored” -Tolkien Fan.
Being a Weta product, this game looks plane and aweful, and has no shadows whatsoever which doesn´t allow the effect of distance for instance, it all look like mashed up in a rare 3d kinda look that feels more 2d than 3d and also gives Playstation 1 vibes. I guess go woke, go wrong. Weta what happened???
yes, "cosy" (you guys only managed to say that.... about 40 times---- one girl said it 3 times in 2 sentences). Anyway--- so when do I get to raid the other shires and make trophies from their heads for my gates?
Who cares if they let you make a hobbit that represents your likeness? It is just an animal crossing clone. A boring game that won't sell unless it is super cheap.
"Every aspect of the game has been carefully crafted, drawing on our years of experience with The Lord of the Rings, and with Tolkien's books always as our guide." Pants on fire.
I love the concept, I love the whimsical art style, I love the cosy vibes I'm feeling. I WANT to love this game, but... I'm concerned about the long-term playability. It seems to present a very small, very static world with a very basic gameplay loop of Farm and Forage, Food your Friends, and Fetch Quests. There doesn't seem to be any other interactions with the world like Building or Crafting (apart from Cooking). You can't even repair your own house: you have to ask someone else to do it. All that's left for the player is decorating their one house, and I can't see that taking much time at all... and this is from someone with literally thousands of hours in The Sims Will we be able to visit the rest of The Shire? Can we stay over with friends and eat _their_ food? Will there be any choices to make, any way at all we can affect the world around us apart from the extremely basic and linear plot outlined to us? Will there be fun activities to interact with, like foot races or cooking/eating contests?
This looks like yet another DEI nightmare where various things are shoehorned into a setting that never had them in the name of wokeness - it's a hard pass for me, I'm afraid.
I really don't care about being inclusive since it is just a game. Why not let people make their character like themselves? My issue is how the game is just like animal crossing and really boring.
How to tell people that you've never read The Lord of the Rings without saying that you've never read Lord of The Rings. 🤣 The book literally talks about dark skinned, medium skinned, and light skinned hobbits of the three bloodlines in shire. Yes, the dark skinned Harfoots were the most numerous, but it also says that white skinned Fallohides and brown Stoors were present. Ironically, it was the Fallohides that were described as having light skin. That means that most hobbits were darker. Tolkien made the educated Hobbits white and the poor tradesman Hobbits black. Think about that for a second.
I love almost everything Tolkien and Weta but this is horrible. I am sorry but no one was asking for Animal Crossing Shire. First the horrible Gollum game and now this. Maybe a Goblin attack would spice it up! 😆😅🤣😂
@@wuothanar3544 i totally get that. Guess its just that its been so long since we got a proper big budget lotr game since the shadow of mordor/war games. Lotr in general has so few games these days. People are starving for more. Especially the big open world type ones. Ill try the hobbit game myself. but trying to understand from both sides.

imagine beating the game n after the credits roll, Baggins return n throw all ur stuff out before u get a NewGame+ option appear on the title screen
to make it more cozy work with the shadows more and put a little bit more details in some textures
Soon I'll be able to play this after I order my PS2 from ebay 👌
Ok the question is why was this reposted and what changed from the other, deleted version from a few months ago?
The devs wanted to remove all the previous negative comments.
There will be a artbook of the game? A concept art book with sketches?
Please make one ❤
If not there should be!
A coloring book would be great as well.
These people sound like
they're in a hostage video.
Play lord of the rings online . It's like this but better and the lore is accurate.
YOU HAD ME AT ARMOURED DUCK 😭😭😭
I am looking forward to playing the game! As someone who is from New Zealand and has played / streamed other games based on Tolkien's work, I am excited to visit the world from another perspective.
:)

Even Minecraft looks more alive than this game. This is so plain, flat, light and shadow does not make any contrast. WTF

Looks absolutely gorgeous. I cannot wait to play through this with my kids at my side.
1:55 "...finding joy in small moments..." Don't know why, but this moment stood out beyond all others. 😂
9:27 - i guess we know what this will entail.... No wonder you guys sound like you're doing a hostage video.
Oh nooo how dare a brown person play a game? Get out your moms basement sometime and touch grass.
All the quiet parts of the latest 3D Zelda games.
Looks so bad but i will give it a shot

Where did they get these social media advocates? How much were they paid or what were they given?😅😂😅😂

Wait, I'm confused. Hobbits with beards?

Maybe it will find a way to my LOTR journey🤗🍀✨
We are so excited for this game!!!! Is the functionality or a plan to allow visiting each other using online features?

There's a lotr mmorpg in early development by Amazon Games
@TealSide thats nice. We need an open world middle earth game thats singleplayer focused. Not online.
@@coreymckee4844 Bigger budget lotr game - well you got it.
I agree with this comment
Can't wait to play this! I've always wanted a game centered around the Shire so this looks to be a good time!!! :)

Weta what happened???
It’s an art style
I can’t wait! This makes me actually excited for cooking. What about adding whittling to the game?
Woke.
Hmm, are they catering to the garbage Rings of Power? Also, timestamp?
@@HarosOfStyxno, more like Animal Crossing.
is this game had invected with "Holy Modern Audience Sh**"?
Very much looking forward to this!
Lord of the Rings is my favorite, so I will definitely be getting this game day one. Hope it is available on Steam.
I'm not a gamer, but I think I might need to get this one...
yes, "cosy" (you guys only managed to say that.... about 40 times---- one girl said it 3 times in 2 sentences). Anyway--- so when do I get to raid the other shires and make trophies from their heads for my gates?
You don’t. It’s cozy.
This would cause Tolkien himself to fall to despair.
To despair is to turn your back on God. Tolkien would never do that.
I really don't think it would....
African Hobbits?
Agreed. Interest’strange.
The (((noses))) and hair jobs on some of these devs though.
I don't think the continent of Africa exists in middle-earth. I think you are projecting.
Yeah... unfortunately at 9:27.

The setting is fantasy dumbass…
I would rather play an inclusive game, even better if it keeps people like you away.
Sad
Can’t you be more accepting? This is a tainted view
I'm looking forward to this game.
They’ve gone woke and this game is going to go broke.
