The Red Sea - Part 2: This footage was shot over the course of 3 dives in an area called Marsa Egla which is in the Marsa Alam area of the Red Sea in Egypt. The site is famous for its huge expanse of seagrass which attracts many different species of marine life to the area for feeding and shelter. Its so fun diving on sea grass because you always have a high chance of finding something interesting to film. On these dives we were lucky enough to come across 2 sea turtles, a cuttle fish and the gentle sea cow of the oceans, a dugong grazing on the sea grass for lunch.
The turtles in this footage were so busy feeding they really gave me no notice and I was able to follow this journey of a sea turtle during lunch as they both gobbled down on the sea grass. At the time of filming I was not shooting with slow TV in mind which is why the clips are a lot shorter than usual. I also had to edit the audio slightly due to boat sounds from the surface disrupting the calm scuba sounds. But I hope it gives an immersive experience of the underwater habitat of a seagrass area and you enjoy the journeys spent with the various animals.
