I know the song says "don't go chasin waterfalls", but in this case I'm very glad you did! The payoff at the end seems like it was very well worth the journey. Looking forward to your next adventure next week!
Very cool falls!!! You can tell it's the spring with all the flow. Mickey was in a posing mood. Nice that your son came along for another FlyNorth adventure!!!
Fantastic video - just so beautiful. What a wonderful hike with your son. And such a spectacular reward for your hard work through the forest. I really enjoyed watching this
Love this! It's so great how you highlight a bit of the story of Massey and describe its history briefly. What a lovely little set of falls, even as tucked away as it is. We adore the entire area and have done some exploring in the region, which is full of magical little areas like this one. Those falls are quietly spectacular and you captured the place so well. Well done!
Thank you for the very kind comment, I really appreciate it. I have been enjoying your channel since I came across it a few weeks ago and am slowly working my way through some of your older stuff. I watched your French River one a week ago but neglected to leave a comment - which I've since corrected. I'm looking forward to some new ones as well. Cheers.
Beautiful Northern Ontario! Wow, the river is flowing so fast, wonderful waterfall and a beautiful setting! Nice, pristine, probably best that they don’t have an official trail leading out there. Massey looks like a really nice town. Thanks for the hike and history!! Hi to your son, great he could join you! 👌👍👍💦💦💦🩵 - Jen
So worth it indeed... An adventure with your son and puppy on a beautiful day, in a beautiful Park "Awesome"... What a wonderful waterfall.. so worth the effort. You better not slip Daryl... I did enough of that for all of us. Happy Monday Buddy ✌️
Lol! I do remember that unfortunate and painful slip you had awhile ago - I had a pretty spectacular one myself at this place - there was blood and everything! 😀 It'll probably show up in a year-end video. Thanks for watching my friend. Have a great week. - Daryl
This is again a very nice video of you with awesome footage. It's very beautiful there. Wonderful nature. It was very interesting to watch. Many greetings 😀
I always enjoy hearing the history of all these small towns along Hwy 17. Also nice to see the snow (almost!) gone and R out there with you and Mick. Cheers!
Great photography and hiking spots. Wonderful sounds of the river and forest landscapes. So cool. Good video. The journey continues, my friend. Greetings from Helsinki 🇫🇮
Great history info. Thank you for the mileage conversion! I wish we all had the same measurements. What a wonderful, and beautiful, trip to take with your son and Mick! Great video! I do love the waterfall. 😁👊
Thank you! It's nice to know my metric conversions are appreciated. I sometimes overlook that in some instances. I grew up with the U.S. system so I'm kind of 'bilingual' that way 😀. Metric units must be hard to relate to if you've never had to learn them. Thanks as always for your support.
Nice bonding time with your son. I wish my daughter was into hiking and the outdoors. The area there did seem a little rough and rocky. Happy hiking. 👍
I get bored on car rides too Mickey, can totally relate. What an awesome hike to go on with your son. Looks like a great spot that it is tucked away and it appears you had it all to yourselves. You captured beautiful footage of the falls and the drone shots were amazing! Also neat to learn about the towns railroad history too.
Well, it pains me to admit, Daryl, that although I've been all over that area, I believe I've never seen that waterfall! Its beautiful. Micky and falls - the 'money shot' right there! Thanks for sharing that adventure! As usual, it made my Monday more palatable! - Jeff
Well Jeff, if you ever find yourself back this way, I'd be happy to tell you where to find it. Spring is definitely the best time to see it but it's nice in the summer too. Thanks as always for watching and I hope all is well in TB.
Wow, very worth it for sure. Running very enthusiastically!! Mickey looked quite excited to get out on the adventure after that boring drive! lol A beauty of a day out and about!!
Thank you, Bruce and Otis. Mickey is so happy to be out in the woods. He's not afraid of being near water, he just won't go in it; he's a lot like me now that I think of it. 😀 Thanks for watching. ~ Daryl
Oh man. I was at Chutes PP last summer. Would have been great to have known about this spot! Looked like a beauty day hike with some terrific drone shots. 👍
Hi. Thanks! My drone camera doesn't like my ND filter on it anymore so the whites are getting blown out, I need to remedy that. And I use a cheap action camera so I wasn't surprised at the waterfalls were too white as well. If you're ever up that way again and want to find those falls, just let me know. ~ Daryl
@@flynorthproductionsyou are very welcome. If you can provide me an email address i can maybe give you some tips or suggestions as i know the panache area well

Loved this video. So these are the waterfalls you were going to share with us when we camped at Chutes? Beautiful waterfalls and rocky trail. Will have to look up Ausable River that flows through Pinery to see if it's the same one you were at. Must be so because of the connection to Lake Huron. Thanks for a great video Daryl! Good to Mick and your son too!
Hi Kathleen. Yes they are the same falls but they were much more robust at this time of year. As already clarified, the Aux Sables River and Sauble Rivers are not the same but I can't help but wonder if they shared the same name at some point and the one in the Pinery became more anglicized over time. I should do some research on that. Thanks for watching, I'm looking forward to watching yours soon too. ~ Daryl
I have been to Chutes a few times, and just posted on Facebook a photo I took in the park while on a hike with my late husband and his sister, who just passed away on Tuesday. I did not know there was another waterfall to enjoy. What road did you take to reach the trail to that waterfall? I want to see it in person. Looks amazing! Mickey seemed to cooperate for you in this one. What a handsome dog!
Hi Lynda, is there an email address I can send you the info on? If so, you can confidentially let me know at flynorthproductions@gmail.com. I'd rather not make its location too public. Thanks.
Thanks! No real injuries, just a little bit of blood. Luckily I landed on my face.😀 There's a waterfalls site I found that had it listed, it's not too hard to locate. I just wasn't sure how good the road in was going to be. Luckily, everything worked out and I didn't even need stitches. 😁
i don't know... without mentioning Joseph Errington who was sent to open up the Massey Mine in Salter township c1902 ( imo ) you miss the historical picture of this town next to Victoria township which was surveyed by Salter a few years after Charles Unwin surveyed Salter township in the 1860's - soon after the engineers decided to drop the Nairne County agenda and chose to go with a District ( Algoma 1858 ) system and a 36 square mile township standard ... Errington was young and he ended up near Chelmsford ( with Fitzgerald and Thayer Lindsley ) and then he/they helped create Falconbridge and Canadian National Railway basically ( after the 1910/11 wedding to Grace McKenzie to the son of Delesseps of France and after her father was knighted after selling his Canadian Northern Railway ( busted supposedly ) to the newly hired Borden administration.. ironically - who was Massey ? Back to the Group of Seven maybe. Lawren Harris was the son of the Harris Company mini titan. He and others were the money men behind the Group. Massey merged with Harris circa 1893 and so on went the story. The group took decades to become a Canadian theme and genre in the art world but the artists were commercial as much as they were fine. They followed the warriors and they promoted the war efforts with propaganda ( in Canada and in Europe - irony again - takes the story back to Roosevelt ( and maybe to Casson and Jackson ) in Espanola in 1943 ) while the mines supplied the minerals. The group even rented a rail car and travelled along the Algoma line and along the Central line towards Hearst ( maybe they sketched around Massey ). Massey is full of mystery.
This is fascinating! I know very little about the original surveyors or their work as I'm sure have deduced by now, but I also didn't know of the Lawren Harris connection to Massey-Harris; that is very intriguing. I really appreciate you adding to the story. Next time I drive on Errington Road up in Chelmsford, I'll know how it got its name. Thank you!
I know the song says "don't go chasin waterfalls", but in this case I'm very glad you did! The payoff at the end seems like it was very well worth the journey. Looking forward to your next adventure next week!

Places that might contain old artifacts.
I see, its tricky locating those. We use old maps often, but usually the metal detector finds them first :)
