This is mastered better than the Chris version for sure, giving it more energy. I also love that it seems Jake wrote his own vocals and then the instrumentals were re-scripted as time went on. Makes them _very_ interesting to listen to
i feel this way about all of the corporate-core overproduced wank shit coming out now. this shit has stank and charm. The "modern" sound is great for about 10 seconds and then just becomes fatiguing, and no bands actually sound like that irl. for a genre that is completely based around "skill" you can never even be certain what you're hearing is real. i'd imagine most modern metal bands would fall apart if they were to record in a studio live.
@joshuas12324 If I remember correctly, they actually recorded this with a drum machine because they just couldn't find a drummer that could keep up with what they were doing. Then they met Orb just before Jake split with the band and they picked up Casey.
the best version imo a lot darker even guitar effects are a lot better(in every aspect), the only thing maybe is the snare not load enough but the build up in volume is way heavier than the clean album version
he tries to overpower the music with his vocals, and i'm not a fan. i like how casey and spencer's vocals complimented and worked together with the instrumentals, but this guy just kinda throws everything away and does his own thing. all for doing your own thing, just fucking let the rest of the band do their thing as well.
Man, jakes screams are almost 100% processing. I'm not a fan of that super airy sound. I also HATE his vocal writing style, makes it sound like kid rock is performing this. The whole rap rythme style is something ive always hated. He did the same thing on icarus lives. Doesn't fit the music at alll
Holy double-tracked vocals Batman.
i seriously think this is their best version of The Walk by far. Beats the album version hands down. So brutal
I've felt this way since the very beginning. Nice to see I'm not the only one on Earth. I enjoy the company.
@@floridamaine I love both versions, as well as the Chris baretto version

This reminds me of Vildhjarta so much lol
loud bass low tuning and line 6 pod
I think Im the only one who prefers Periphery with worse recording quality. Makes them sound heavier and gives them more personality.
Is it the quality or did Misha just use a fucking shittonne of bass? I can't tell lmao
Either way, you're fucking 200% right.
Surprised there aren't elitist audiophile pieces of garbage in Periphery's fanbase. They only show up on bands that are commonly hated on I guess.
I actively seek out demos for that exact reason.
Not like P1 has the best quality anyway but the demos sound so gritty

back when periphery was meshuggah based
hi luigi
+heyitskhalil123 o hi mang
Luigi Masella I found you again.
they never stopped lmao
man if they still had this guy as their vocalist... i would sincerely be in love with this band
What a vocal GOD!!! Why no one knows what the hell is this moster doing now?
Well, he used to do some vocals for Divine Heresy not too long ago.

listening to this and the album version at the same time... oh my god
This is my favorite version! thanks for posting it!
Amazing how much more fun and badass Jake makes these songs. I like Spencer but his vocals always seem out of place but this just gels so well.
And this is why Jake was my favorite Periphery vocalist.
the best version imo a lot darker even guitar effects are a lot better(in every aspect), the only thing maybe is the snare not load enough but the build up in volume is way heavier than the clean album version
That ending part just MAKES the fucking song!
DAMN!!! i fucking love the guitar tone
Jake was just too good
omg, this is the most br00tal version of The Walk there is!!!!!
where is this demo lmao i need this.
By the sound of the ending, so did the band....
most tastefully brutal song i've heard.
holy shit.... I just Djizzed....
This version sounds much more Meshuggah-esque
I love how the demo sounds more energetic than the album version
The album version sounds more technical this very sounds more Meshuggah based.
@@Vulkanzed-117 technicality doesn't necessarily equate to interesting music. music is equal parts expression as it is a craft.
I'm not used to the drums being so watered down!
Spencer needs to handle clean vocals, And they need to bring jakes ass back in for screams cause this is fucking amazing.
@spankmaster008
Rap-metal is just double the aggression.
2015
@rarelegend
Lol Taj. So fucking true.
@Aepriz So you're saying neither Chris Baretto nor Sponce are amazing vocalists?
Jake's voice totally works well for this track, It's less melodic, and more djenty goodness
1:04 So brutal
WHAT THE ACTUALLY FUCK IS UP WITH THE ENDING!
The ending was wtf
did jake leave or get kicked?
So much better.
Probably because in all technicaliy, he's rapping.
LYRICS?
lyrics anyone?
I like jake's version more then the new version.
I was super bumbed when jake was replaced not ganna lie
Shame Jake didnt work out his vocal style fit the band so much better
@TheBigAP13 chris baretto was a fucking diva.
This ain't Chris Baretto, but Jake Veredika
@@chrisredfield2301 13 year necropost lmao
pretty strange rhythm, i think they changed the drums to an easier version.
Thank God they didn't take this. This vocalist does not know when to stop and just breathe. So cluttered.

I really dont like the way his vocals flow
