@@boobiemiles7735 damn so many comparisons yeah we get it already. Nothing wrong with Spencer's cleans or screams I think. He just has a higher voice then Chris and Casey.

@@TheBallinCollin96 I'm with ya dude the cleans sounded very raw, every album since has been slightly nasally, tho on P V he seems to have grown quite a bit since P 4
Teddy Marquise It's still your opinion bro lol At the time these songs were written (5 years ago) Chris definitely wasn't as strong with his cleans but dude is on the same level now.
Teddy Marquise Chris Barretto is every bit as good as Spencer Sotelo in every bit of singing. Objectively, Spencer's growls are a lot more raw, much like Matt Rose off of Monument's first album. His cleans are very good, but much more like a poppish, metalcore-ish way. His cleans aren't bad at all, I love everything about his singing, it's just the objective style of his singing I'm describing. Chris Barretto's growls are much more like Satan himself, powerful, deep, intense. A different style to Spencer. His cleans are also slightly poppish but have more ambience. I love both singers equally, and I'll go through phases of loving one over the other because I become obsessed with a particular song (The Bad Thing vs. Quasimodo for instance).
It was originally Jake Veredika who started some vocals on some of the tracks that never remotely made it to the album. Then came Casey Sabol who basically set the ground for vocals on the entire album. Once Casey departed, Chris took over for the vocal recordings. There are still a few tracks with some lyrical lines/melodies from both Casey and Chris that made it into the album and since the album never released with Chris's vocals, the band decided to keep most of what was already there, re-record and re-do some of the vocal lines and make the album into the one we know today. There are still a few faint hints of the others like a melody with Chris's voice in the song 'Light' close to the start of the song, Casey's "I see light" at the end of 'Racecar', and I believe that some of Jake's lyrics from 'Zyglrox' were kept but the song almost completely redone vocally, along with a few harmonies across the album that Spencer lined up with the other vocalists melodies. Long story, but the album is a complex kinda 'mash-up' of about 4 vocalists, 4 guitarists, 2 bassists, and one drummer. I honestly do not believe there will ever be another album that could ever go through that much processing, mixing, and re-recording as this one did. In honesty, the final result is probably the best result it could've been. But to answer your question, yes. Chris came before Spencer.
I listened to a bit of Periphery (i.e. a mate sent me Icarus Lives! and Jetpacks Was Yes) and I thought it was pretty good. Then I stumbled upon this. Honestly, the first minute is the best introduction to any song I think I've ever heard.
Apparently, to what Misha and Chris have said, they just could be around each other for too long. Probably one of those conflicting personalities kind of situation. Allegedly no hard feelings.
even tho this sounds brutal and great, spencers melodies and harmonic singing is a staple for me with this band. i doubt they would get so much exposure without him.
There's a short demo clip of Letter Experiment with Chris on vocals which used to be on MySpace and their cover of Black or White. Misha said there are some demos with Chris "...which weren't worth using" a few years ago. We'd have to harass Misha to release those demos for them to be heard. He also removed every demo of Chris off SoundClick.
