I was crying so hard when watching this live. Not only did she look so emotional and so happy in the end, but knowing the lyrics and her story with her husband I'm certain the lyrics resonate personally to her as well 🥺

This has got to be the most spectacular Olympics opening ever,so original and that finale by Celine is just the icing on the cake. Nothing beats that airborne Olympics flame suspended beneath a floating balloon. I am assuming that all the fuel needed for the flame to burn 24/7 for 3 weeks is carried within the torch if that balloon is to remain airborne for the duration the game! 😅

@@simplyeason that is true... I saw the statement as well from Victor Le Manse (the Musical Director of the Olympics Opening Ceremony). I thought everybody has seen it but apparently not.

I agree that it was really traumatizing to see her struggles in the documentary, as she's my favorite pop singer. I was damn near tears watching this as I couldn't believe how courageous she was and how she was able to pull this off. As Katy Perry tweeted " Legend things only!!"

Me and you would get on like a house of fire! So beautiful I just hope that the adrenaline and stuff didn't cause a spasm or a crisis I do hope they gave her a little something to help relax her vocal cords personally I know what it's like to lose control of your voice I have nodules and they've already had to navigate and I don't have the experience that she has to find new paths and new ways of doing things my repertoire is one two Styles and I can't do either so I'll be honest growing man bold my eyes out because I know what it's like I can sing a little bit but I can't do a full set I can do one or two songs but I can't do half a show so for her to sing this pitch perfect I was just so worried about her because the world was watching and wish she must have had a little bit of weight on her shoulders but she's got nothing to prove to anybody if her voice had a cracked she would have kept on going the best she could and that's more than enough for us people that love Celine thank you for sharing your views and your reaction I love you very much buddy love sending lots of love from New Zealand to you

Sorry folks but this "performance" had Dion miming/"lip-syncing" to a heavily produced prerecorded track _and_ what's even sadder is that the vocals were tampered with; manipulated using _'pitch correction'_ software .
The music business is mess today with both "artists" and producers to blame for the current dismal state of affairs. Something really must be done to address the wide-scale, wholesale deception that is taking place. What we all witnessed here may have been dismissed as something of a "one-off" (event) in the past _a la_ the now legendary Whitney Houston SuperBowl National Anthem Performance (also faked, the very *real* beads of facial perspiration notwithstanding) hence viewed through more forgiving lens *however* , what occurred at the Olympics the other night _in the rain, on the Eiffel Tower_ no less, has now come to be considered/accepted as an industry standard. Almost all recordings are undergoing these manipulative voice altering processes with even "live" performances being given the treatment ; subjected to such "corrective" measures either in real time at the concert venue itself through "autotune" installed in the onstage sound system or later in post-production for recorded releases of the "live" performance intended for consumption by the general public. Truly tragic.

It was not lip sync. It was a live show with the world watching. Someone would have noticed if she was lip syncing. Why can't you just appreciate her for how amazing she was. No. You automatically claim lip syncing.

The director at the Olympics even confirmed that Gaga's performance was synced, but Céline would have none of that. She wouldn't have agreed to perform if she couldn't sing it herself.
