I really don't care if it's lipsync, at this point in her career Celine no longer has to prove absolutely anything. Lipsync or not Celine moves, she is not only a great vocalist, she is an exceptional artist. Why we can not just celebrate her legacy and resilience?.

The bóxer refused to leave his wife and children for her, but continued to have dates with her. So she wrote this hym of love with the great lyrics : if heaven takes you away from me, it does t matter, cause once a Day, I will die also and in heaven, when we love us truly, there wont be any Problems any more. 2 month after written the Song, the has had a Premiere at a Club in the US (guess it was New York). The boxer wanted to visit her in New York to hear her sing (and other things...) but his plane crashed onto his way to Edith Piaf. So the lyrics... became a sad reality! And Edith Piaf, also died at very Young age with only 47 years! If you are not aware about the lyrics in english, I hardly recommend to join a good Translation! This makes the Song really more important what she sang. In the City of love, Paris, the hymn of love. Perfect selection for the olímpics in Paris. I saw the documentation of celine. What a hard fighter she is. Fully respect m I asked myself, what must have think Celine Dion in those moments at the Eiffel tower. This performance ... was such a gift to the world, so powerful, even the stage presence. And considering all her struggles, it's really a feat of mankind, fitting to open this celebration of some of the biggest feats of mankind presented by the Olympic athletes. I was looking forward to your reaction to this. Also, can I suggest taking a look on the recent "Die with a Smile" from powerhouses Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. They already have some live performances of this duet floating around and I'm not particularly musically literate, but I feel they made something amazing there. Love from Brazil.

I had watched the documentary at least three times before this performance and I was willing for it to go well for her, but she totally knocked it out of the park - totally amazing! I was holding my breath at the beginning and sobbing uncontrollably from halfway through! I have lost count of the amount of times I’ve watched it now. So moved by it and sooo pleased for her. 🥰
It was pitch corrected and played on lipsync.. It's a rule of Olympic games events since many years to pre record their songs and perform on lipsync, in case of last minute technical issues or weather conditions. Even in 1996 she was on lipsync.. It was recorded live the day before.. Then pitch corrected and played on lipsync at the event.. She did rehearsal on the pre recorded track at 03 am.. There are 2 videos of "Wings of Pegasus", TH-camr expert in voice recording that explains everything and also show the back record made at 3 am and the instruments analysis.. In her condition it's normal.. She did use lipsync in her career to preserve her voice many times for her own admission, even in her Las Vegas show.. Nothing so weird...

I watched this video a thousand times and I always feel goosebumps and cry at the same time. Brave and powerfull Celine Dion . She sang with all feelings this Edith Piaf ´s song when she lost her big love. Beautilful and sad song. I love both singers.
Other channels say that Celine did not sing live. That this is in fact a pitch corrected pre-record that she lip synced to. I know Celine's voice and mannerisms well. There is rehearsal footage of her practising the night before in the pouring rain. If Celine, her pianist Scott Price AND the musical director of the Olympics say that Celine performed LIVE - that is good enough for me. The world was moved. Celine fans wept. She had a great triumph. She's a beautiful soul. Her voice is not the same as 20 years ago - But her tone and resonance and unique inflections remain thrilling. It took non Celine fans many years to realize that she has never been anything but sincere. She respects her beautiful gift and has always tried to do her very best. Her recordings in her first language are the most beautiful of her stellar career. More nuanced and emotional - heartbreakingly gorgeous - not so "American" bombastic. She is without peer. I adore her. ❤

The bóxer refused to leave his wife and children for her, but continued to have dates with her. So she wrote this hym of love with the great lyrics : if heaven takes you away from me, it does t matter, cause once a Day, I will die also and in heaven, when we love us truly, there wont be any Problems any more.
2 month after written the Song, the has had a Premiere at a Club in the US (guess it was New York). The boxer wanted to visit her in New York to hear her sing (and other things...) but his plane crashed onto his way to Edith Piaf. So the lyrics... became a sad reality! And Edith Piaf, also died at very Young age with only 47 years! If you are not aware about the lyrics in english, I hardly recommend to join a good Translation! This makes the Song really more important what she sang. In the City of love, Paris, the hymn of love. Perfect selection for the olímpics in Paris. I saw the documentation of celine. I was looking forward to your reaction to this. Also, can I suggest taking a look on the recent "Die with a Smile" from powerhouses Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. I had watched the documentary at least three times before this performance and I was willing for it to go well for her, but she totally knocked it out of the park - totally amazing! I was holding my breath at the beginning and sobbing uncontrollably from halfway through! I have lost count of the amount of times I’ve watched it now. So moved by it and sooo pleased for her. 🥰
Celine singing live in the rain is amazing to this beautiful song after all that she has been through.
It was pitch corrected and played on lipsync.. It's a rule of Olympic games events since many years to pre record their songs and perform on lipsync, in case of last minute technical issues or weather conditions. Even in 1996 she was on lipsync.. It was recorded live the day before.. Then pitch corrected and played on lipsync at the event.. She did rehearsal on the pre recorded track at 03 am.. There are 2 videos of "Wings of Pegasus", TH-camr expert in voice recording that explains everything and also show the back record made at 3 am and the instruments analysis.. In her condition it's normal.. She did use lipsync in her career to preserve her voice many times for her own admission, even in her Las Vegas show.. Nothing so weird...

Other channels say that Celine did not sing live. That this is in fact a pitch corrected pre-record that she lip synced to.
I know Celine's voice and mannerisms well. There is rehearsal footage of her practising the night before in the pouring rain. If Celine, her pianist Scott Price AND the musical director of the Olympics say that Celine performed LIVE - that is good enough for me. The world was moved. Celine fans wept. She had a great triumph. She's a beautiful soul. Her voice is not the same as 20 years ago - But her tone and resonance and unique inflections remain thrilling. It took non Celine fans many years to realize that she has never been anything but sincere. She respects her beautiful gift and has always tried to do her very best. Her recordings in her first language are the most beautiful of her stellar career. More nuanced and emotional - heartbreakingly gorgeous - not so "American" bombastic. She is without peer. I adore her. ❤
