To me, this is one of the most outstanding videos that you have made. The rationale behind what makes a style work is seldom addressed, and kudos to you for including this original and meaningful content.
This is exactly why I was waiting impatiently for the skinny leg pants trend to pass somewhat. I hadn't been able to buy pants for a couple of years; I was SO happy to see flare-leg pants available again.
I am 5'8" and have learned more from you about my body type and how to wear a flattering look than so many other videos. I am glad I took a chance on watching a channel geared for petites. Genius!
This is one of your BEST, most educational videos yet Chi!! You put so much thought into illustrating how the illusions manifest themselves in clothing. I'm a BIG fan! Thank you for teaching me how to look better (and feel better too).
This is the best video I ever saw for this topic ! And it is so great presented. I'm from Germany but my english is good enough to follow you without any problems. I just forwarded your video to a friend and she is so happy about your recommendations without speaking english very well and my assistance. So keep on doing , thanks for effort and kind regards ❤
You are a god send. I'm older and still trying to find what works on a 5ft tall, busty woman. These tricks are unbelievable. Simple and so obvious when you show the side by side difference. I am hooked. I have subscribed. I can't wait to watch more.
At 5’3 sometimes I wonder why the clothes I thought I loved just aren’t working for me but this video gives me a new vision toward how I style them to make me feel right and more confident styling them. This information is fabulous and so on point. I love fashion and love dressing well but Ive never known this information until watching this video and it has answered alot of questions I had and put things into perspective so thankyou! ❤
Great tips! You are brilliant! Everything that you are planting is going to turn back to you! You are saving my life, I'm in a process of knowing myself and changing my style to express my real self trought my clothes, colors and accessories. Thanks so much for sharing!
Chi, you did it again! Another deeply insightful and original video. Your out of this world visual-spatial intelligence is making so many of us better at dressing ourselves. Thank you so much! You're amazing!
I’ve followed you for years, this is my favorite thing you’ve ever shared and is so unique!!!! I’ve never seen anyone else illustrate these techniques or illusions!!! Thank you 😊
Chi Li, I really appreciate the valuable content you’ve created on your channel. Your videos stand out from others available on the internet; they are not only informative but also presented in a way that is easy to understand. What specific styling hacks would you recommend for women who are under 5'2" and have a fuller figure? How can they use illusions in their clothing choices to create a flattering silhouette and feel more confident in their outfits? Thank you for your dedication to helping women look and feel their best!
I am 5ft 10 inches but still like to look slim and tall so look at colour co ordinations and wearing my beige trench open and v shape tops ...thanks for yr hints
Great videos. Thank you for the effective style tips. I would love to see a video for winter clothing. Im from Canada and we need to wear our sweaters and longer jackets. I'd love some ideas of how to improve my winter looks, especially for curvy gals.
Excellent tips, as always, Chi. I avoid round/crew necklines as much as I can; a V or other vertical neckline is so much more flattering on my short figure. When the collared, V-neck Polo tops became available again this year, I used these to replace a lot of my plain, crew-neck tees, they’re not only more flattering, they look more polished. Also, I still love matching my skirt/dress/pants, my footwear, and my socks/tights for that lengthening effect. Not just with black, either, I also wear my other basic wardrobe colors like taupe, brown or navy this way. We did this a lot in the 90s and it’s trending again to wear tights in colors other than black, I’ve seen a lot of burgundy or khaki green tights recently, in these trending autumn colors, with matching footwear. I wear dresses or skirt outfits most days, even in winter, so I need a lot of tights and tall boots for cooler weather. I know the “sandwich look” of wearing contrasting (with respect to the trousers) shoes that match the top is trendy, but it’s best on taller women. Keep up the great work, we love your channel❤
I stumbled across a video of yours the other day and while I am not petite in fact quite the opposite, I have found your information to be really helpful and although some of the things I already do I didn’t really understand why I did them until now 😊 Thank you 👏🏻
Now that I know i need the V shape, i am going to alter some of my clothes myself! (Skirts, put a slit in them, T-shirts -maybe attempt to creat a v-neckline if the fabric allows)
Your videos are very helpful! I am 5’0” and have short legs even for my height and a longer torso. I have finally embraced wider legged pants and they look so good! I guess I thought they’d make me look wider in general but they don’t. The vertical aspect of them makes me look longer and therefore less wide.
Even though though I’m now slender, I have a softer, fleshier under-chin area, it’s hereditary. I find V-necks and classic pointed collars much more flattering than rounded necklines, they add some much-needed angularity there.
I’m 74 and 5’2” and learned in my 20’s about v necks. I don’t have a round face ( but being petite I had to learn how to make myself taller and thinner even at 115 lbs) V necks make a round face look better.
I've noticed that V neck looks better on me, but didn't think why, when You showed those tree lines it made sense. Thank you for deeper understanding, great suggestions as always!
You are my (s)hero! Thank you so much for very simple explanation. My body is hourglass and when I was reading some articles it was only one advice to me "Oh! You are perfect, you can wear everything!". And then I wear turtleneck sweater an wondering how the hell I could get extra kg in a few seconds? :o I want to see all of your materials and learn how to wear properly :D Maybe I will finally discover my style!
Thanks! I'm quite tall, but this is still good advice. Having put on weight, these hints are useful to elongate and avoid horizontals for flattering and slimmer presentation... 😂❤
So good to see this style principle! Is there anything like this you can recommend for petites with "hip dips" or "shelf hips"? It the figure 8, a version on the hourglass. Not many influencers address this challenge! Please please!
HELP! I totally fell in love with the black maxi dress you're wearing at 2:21min, it's stunning, and I can't find it anywhere (it's not linked below and not on your page)! It's my dream dress and I need to find it... can you tell me where it's from please!? Thank you so much in advance🖤🖤🖤
I get all the concepts here. I DO think people are overly obsessed with flattering. What's better than flattering... confidence! Wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable. If it doesn't happen to fit the flattering pattern... don't worry about it!
The brown jacket and long skirt outfit at 0.48 would be fine, if they were similar values ie even if not same colour, either both light or dark. This then created the long line. Great video!
Well, Chee, I have much weight in my lower tommy, so high cut swim suit is not a good choice for me. In addition, deep plunge bra is not holding my big breast in place. What do I do? I realised now that my swim suits are a bad choice, but they provide me good support. Thanks!
Swimsuits - I wear modest swimdresses - everything is fully covered (and nothing is typical bathing suite tight) but I get SO MANY COMPLIMENTS because the lines look good. Not saying everyone has to do this, just saying that's what works for me! I'm still looking for a modest v-neckline in a swimsuit BUT so far I'm happy with the ones I have.
To me, this is one of the most outstanding videos that you have made. The rationale behind what makes a style work is seldom addressed, and kudos to you for including this original and meaningful content.
Agreed!
💯 agree
I love she is straight to the point and doesnt fluff around with her personal life or unrelated topics. She's so spot on.
@@nellsimpson9307 me too straight to the point 👌 some of them fluff on they forget what they were originally on about.
Couldn’t have said it better myself 😊
I've heard of all these illusions before but this is the first time I saw it applied to clothing in a way that makes sense.
This is exactly why I was waiting impatiently for the skinny leg pants trend to pass somewhat. I hadn't been able to buy pants for a couple of years; I was SO happy to see flare-leg pants available again.
My favorite skirt has a split and now you have just made me understand why I love it so much!
Great recommendations 😁
Great video, makes so much sense.

Very clever making the optical illusions work for fashion fixes! I totally get it. Thanks ❤
you're so helpful!! may I request a video on styling various turtleneck necklines? they are my favorite
I also would like that. I live in a cold climat and my throat likes turtle neck in winter. But not sure how to make it work being short.
To create a v shape for turtlenecks, just wear a long necklace with an angular pendant that points downwards. It'll create the illusion. Try it!
You are a god send. I'm older and still trying to find what works on a 5ft tall, busty woman. These tricks are unbelievable. Simple and so obvious when you show the side by side difference. I am hooked. I have subscribed. I can't wait to watch more.
Love her ideas...I'm 5' she knows what she's talking about!
Thank you so much for teaching the “V” shape that is attractive!! Thank you! Thank you!
Yes, the other commenters are right- this is very helpful, especially with your explanations! I'm glad I found your channel. ❤
I love your tips. Your videos are so helpful. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏼
Wonderful advice and easy to follow, thank you Chi❤
Your content is great I love it! Would you please do a video on athletic wear? 😊
I love your videos. So informative and well done without a bunch of extra chatting or loud music where you are hard to hear. Excellent work!
Oh!!! 🤯🧠 It never occurred to me why I have always been drawn to v-necks, but this makes so much sense. I will try to layer my clothing without fear!
Amazing video - science applied to fashion - interesting concept.

Great video, I agree. Of note the first midi length dress with the sleeves and slit makes you look like a super model!❤🎉
Your hair looks very nice with a bit of curl. Thanks for a well thought out video. 🙂
Thank you for another great video. The visuals and explanations are so helpful!❤
Great tips! I’m not petite but also not tall and I can incorporate those tips that work for me.
Not petite but I have a long torso so this stuff is very helpful for me as well
Thank you for breaking it down and showing clear examples. This helps me a lot since I'm a visual learner.
This video is an absolute treasure❤
Very very good advice! Love, too, how you demonstrate the principles at your own silhouette! ❤
This is genius I'm actually not petite but I still love your tips.
Thanks for the tips! Question: Doesn’t an off-shoulder top or dress create a horizontal line?
This is so clever and observant.
Lovely! Intelligent styling thankyou

A way I do the sandwich look as a petite is to match my shoes to my hair. 🤣
You are God send. I am 44 and this video and your channel is a pure gift for me. Thank you!🌸
This is absolutely amazing! Thank you
Great video! I will definitely apply these techniques.😊
A lot of amazing tips in just one video
You're a gem! No-nonsense advice. 😊
Excellent video and demonstration 👏👏👍
Thank you for this and all you do!

Chi is the undisputed master of proportions.
Now that I know i need the V shape, i am going to alter some of my clothes myself! (Skirts, put a slit in them, T-shirts -maybe attempt to creat a v-neckline if the fabric allows)
Always great tips😊
Last night I wore a v shape top and flare pants and someone said I looked taller! Thanks Chi for all of your advice.
V neck top?

I’m 160cm tall, short torso and long legs. Floor-length straight or mermaid cut skirts or dresses changed my life.
That was great thank you.
Thank you!

I love this! 🤯

Great advise 👍

Great video!!

Great video!!!!
