    I asked my 4 year old son, "what should daddy name his REH?" "Speedy" he said.
    I don't think he was making fun of me. Haha. Bless him.
    But it's now called Speedy.

    Finally a Himalayan with decent rubber on it. I told Itchy Boots she needs better tires for her offroading treks. The tubeless tires/rims are a game changer, the rest of the mods aren't bad either! Well done lads!

    i have been riding big capacity bikes since 1989 and sold my latest 2018 R1200GS....i have ordered a new 2021 Himalayan have to wait until mid april to pick it up and YES these bikes get the love of the owners, need a name..what do i call mine?...i lost my beautiful natured black labrador 8 months ago, broke my heart in so many ways and he never ever let me down with his attitude.....so Alfie is my new himmy's name :D

  • @stevepowell4946
    @stevepowell4946 4 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    You are correct i had a Tracer 900 as well as my Himmy, never rode the Tracer after getting the Himmy so sold it.

      @BoatingBiker 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Know what you mean, I have a Serow for trail riding and also have a Tracer 900GT. I rarely take the Tracer out, a Himalayan is probably the way to go......

      Is the RE that much easier and fun? I mean compared to the Tracer? In terms of ease and not worrying about the weight efc

    Strange question, but do you have options for lower bars?
    And, do you have more details about that seat?
    Thanks

    • @MegaCooperb
      @MegaCooperb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, the seat is available in standard height & tall as featured on this bike. Both on our website. The genuine Re alloy bars are much lower & look great annodised in black.

    The bike looks great. I was very tempted by the Himilayan, I probably would have pulled the trigger had I a dealer like you. I ended up with a new Africa Twin, with all the goodies. Yes, it is better on the highway but the Himilayan would have suited me better in the rough.

    • @MegaCooperb

      John Rhodes if your not a biker... you don’t know. Cooperb are a great RE DEALERSHIP and their development on the Himalayan is well thought out and tested .

    • @andrewfurniss8944
      @andrewfurniss8944 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Michael Casey
      I don’t agree. 5kg of moving mass that far out from structural support will put an immense strain on any rack. Be ok on tarmac but on corrugations that’s gonna set up a harmonic vibration that’s going to be undamped or supported and will crack welds.

  • @gourabjitsingha8056
    @gourabjitsingha8056 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    what would be the effect of adding a belt drive to the Himalayan in place of chain drive?

    • @marcelvanbodegom
      @marcelvanbodegom 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Added costs, more prone to failure while riding off road, more trouble to get it repaired. The drive would be a bit smoother. Did you ever own a bike with a belt drive? I did, wouldn't be my first choice for a drive system. Chain is cheap and simple, can be maintained and repaired everywhere.

      I down loaded the engine manual to take a look. Its more robust than my old xl250, though i was amazed its only a 2 valve head. Dont know why they used a chain to drive the oil pump when a gear would have been better, but apart from that, im waiting for an affordable one to come along, i would rather beat one of these to bits than my 40 year old xl.
