    The most comprehensive review on accessories for this motorbike…. Thank you very much..
    There’s me thinking as I search for 2022 Himalayan thinking okay £3500 UK should do it, but then I’ll probably do what you have done is load it up with several kilos of expensive accessories. Hahaha….. maybe I’ll just be selective on the one’s that is really essential for me. Thank you very much.
    Oh, and just to say I’m returning to motorcycling after a 20 year lay off…. I had a couple of re-engineered BSA 650’s back in the day, which were extremely reliable and trouble-free, and I like the old style of riding…. Don’t get me wrong I’ve ridden a Suzuki 900, CBR600R and a couple of her others in my time, but I do love these older style functioning bikes that are more accessible for self maintenance and also back here in the UK. All local roads (Wales & Scotland>to a lesser extent

    The standard royal enfield engine guard is surprisingly sturdy. Mine deflected a deer and saved my ankle.
    I will still be replacing them with a 3 point mounted set like yours. Little extra never hurt.

    Similar additions to mine, I love the doubletake mirrors. I would Throw the RE hand guards away, they snap off if you drop the bike. Acerbis make a decent set that fits with minimal bending and clamps onto the bars as well as using the factory bar weights. If you fitted the spacers that came with the RE protectors, toss them and refit the original bar weights. You will find out why when your arms go numb from the vibration.
    Another great addition is the SRC top plate for the rear carrier, allows you to strap on bags a lot easier. I run kriega bags and have the kriega panels attached to the plannier frames. US30 each side and a 20 on the top, with an additional 5 on top of the 20 that holds my wet weather leggings.

    That is one handsome big boy's mule! You remind me of an older neighbor I had as a kid. He got a brand new (green, my fav color) Raleigh 3 spd with a rat trap, streamers, mudflaps and a light that generated power off the wheel. Having a one speed I kept updating with a can of paint, I was envious as hell.
    Now that I can afford all the goodies, I'm too lazy to do anything about it. lol 😆

    Great bike!!! You have everything but a mounted machine gun! I was looking at the 2022 KLR 650 but lately I have been watching videos about the Royal Enfield. I don’t know what which one I should buy.

    • @MSMAdventures
      @MSMAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The KLR is a great bike for the money also. All depends what you want to do with it. The only drawback to the Himalayan is the power at higher speeds. Makes passing and highway speeds a challenge. For back roads and what it is built for though it is a joy to ride.

    Between the hand guards and the taller windshield, how effective is it in blocking the wind?
    Keep in mind I'm coming from a Goldwing. Would it be half as effective, 3/4 effective of a Goldwing? Blocking the wind is important and yours does look effective.
    I ride mine to work but it doesn't get the mileage. Now the total cost to change tires is up to $700 and they don't even last 2 years. Seriously wanting to sell it and get a set up like yours.

    For me the top 3 essential mods are. Upgrading the front brake master cylinder which hugely improves the braking, and a new exhaust and lithium battery which helps reduce weight a lot. You have added a lot of weight which really isn't what you want tbh.

    • @callummcausland3904
      @callummcausland3904 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      how much weight did you manage to save with the battery and the exhust? How much does it cost? and where can i find them for myself!!!

  • @williamstilgoe61
    @williamstilgoe61 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just curious, I’ve been tempted by the H for a while. The one thing lots of people say about it is that the brakes are not very good, how do you find them? If they are weak is there a recognised upgrade? For me that would be an essential upgrade.

    • @MSMAdventures
      @MSMAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would recommend that you take a test ride. I have never found the brakes to be an issue. I have heard a lot of people say that they are bad but I never found that to be true.

  • @sylvainlandreville3425
    @sylvainlandreville3425 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like what you have done to your bike. But now that time has passed a little... The hand guards... As they are open on the inside... Do they catch vegetation when you wander in tall grass or tight forest trail? In the old days also at least for the types that tied only to the inside, they could crush your hand if you hit a tree or fell to the side and turning in...
    I would apreciate your input in this as you now have them for a while.
    Cheers!

    • @MSMAdventures
      @MSMAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      I could see that happening but I have not had an issue with that. I didn't have it in super tall grass etc but plenty of tight trails and it was totally fine.

    I was watching itchyboots who had them on her Honda CRF Rally 300. She dropped her bike and it broke at the mirror where it transitions to the ram mount. I think a cheaper solution is needed if the double takes are just as prone to breakage as anything else. I like all of the rest of your accessories.

    • @MSMAdventures
      @MSMAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment! I love watching Itchyboots. I have been down twice so far and no issues but I imagine if they are hit just right they will break. I feel the functionality is worth the risk of them breaking.

    Thank’s for the video and the advices, really very interesting. One question: is the wind-screen you’ve mounted fully compatible with the lever protections (does it allow for full movement of the steering)? I’m asking because I also have the original ones and I want to change the original wind~screen as it gets all the air on neck and helmet. Who’s producing the one you got? Thank’s again and best regards from Italy

    Not quite sure why you need a bigger screen, or indeed any screen on a Himmy. Top speed 70 mph, or if you're riding off-road, actual speeds on this bike will be a lot less. Especially carrying luggage.
    Thanks for the tips though, the rear-brake master cylinder guard is definitely a 'must'. Love and peace.

    I have this GIVI protection (TN9050) installed on my Himalayan.
    The left part protrudes and continuously hits the left ankle.
    I have contacted the manufacturer, sent photos, and explained the problem.
    They have treated me correctly, but they tell me that the protection is designed that way.
    Other users have the same problem.

    What kind of petrol do you put in the bike? 95 Octane Unleaded, Extra 99 Octane or 100 Octane? Thanks for the information.

    • @MSMAdventures
      @MSMAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just plain old regular unleaded. Usually 87 octane here in the US.

    Great video! I am however concerned with the gas and water can location! I’m looks good but if you ever dump that bike on the sides I fear it would break those plastic jugs open! But like I said looks cool and great video!

    • @MSMAdventures
      @MSMAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! The fuel and water jugs are fairly robust but yes that is a concern of mine as well. I have been down on both sides and so far no damage to the jugs.

      You're welcome. I have not absolutely needed the fuel but it's really nice piece of mind to have it. The water has been a life saver as I get dehydrated pretty easily and can never have to much water on board.

    Yo tengo una Himalaya también pienso poner los tanques de reserva de combustible en los costado del tanque . Pero los considero peligrosos en caso de caída. Vere si puedo hacerle una protección.

    How do you feel about the quadlock with the vibration dampener? I just bought it but installed it on the handlebars instead, but I do have a similar mount. Worried because of the camera issues that are related to the vibrations...And I have the feeling that the handlebars does vibrate less that the mount.

      I love the quadlock mount. I would get it again in a heartbeat. A little pricey but worth it imo.
