Sly Cooper is one of the most beautiful video games I've seen. There's so much life and character within each game and the characters! This got me so inspired that I saw my OCs (I'm an artist with my own series that I'm working on) as the characters in this franchise! If the creators of Sly Cooper see this comment, I just want to say to not give up on something that's a masterpiece! Many of us fans are waiting for Sly Cooper 5 or Sly Cooper:The movie, and I understand that some of you may be going through something hard. It's very interesting watching all of this at once and seeing just how much the Gang has developed as characters. Bentley used to consider every new obstacle they encountered to be nigh impossible to get passed, but now, he has a plan for every impediment, and he can say it with confidence. Murray used to find himself in trouble, having to run away or surrender to races because he was easily intimidated. Now, he's THE MURRAY! An unstoppable force able to take on hordes of enemies at once with no fear. Even Sly. While he's still very much a smart talker, he has a much more observable seriousness in his thieving. Especially when the stakes are high enough that his crew is in danger. God, I love this series.

With Suckerpunch working on ghost of tsushima and with Sanzaru now working for Facebook in their Oculus VR division, Sony would have to find another studio to make the next sly game. Before that even happens I believe that even if SP decides to take responsibility for Sly Cooper or if another studio steps up for the job Sony would want to release a remake/remaster of every sly game, just to see if they will profit. After all, Sanzaru had a DLC coming for Thieves in Time that Sony didn't release because they didn't make enough profit off the main game. If the remakes make profit, then they will be in the talks for another sly game. Why make remakes? Because since the series' release there have been new generations of gamers which sony sees as a market for these games. They give them Sly as a remaster of an old gem, they play it and if they like it and sony makes enough money off them, they make the fifth and probably last sly game. If the fifth game does wonders for sony then they might start milking the series though I don't think that will ever be the case.
Jak and Daxter was the shit back then. Solid Gunplay, good looking realtime cutscenes, and Jaks development from a kind, Link-type country boy into an absolute monster, into a balanced warrior of light and dark, and guns was awesome. plus, you got a literal mini nuke launcher in 3. What more could you ask for?
Watching the Panda King struggle and overcome his old demons with both Sly and his remorse over not standing up for his daughter is something you don’t see very often anymore in writing for games. I know he’s like basically a one-off character, but even he has so much thought put into him and what he feels and gripes with. I think thats really impressive, especially as he’s not the only minor character with an arc. Dimitri, Penelope, and especially with Carmelita becoming a major character in 4.
Especially since it adds in every little piece of dialog. I’ve seen so many videos like this that only have the “movie” cutscenes and it just misses so much

I remember when Rango came out, it featured a population of anthropomorphic animals, one of which was a turtle confined to a wheelchair. I couldn't help but know that that had already been done better years before. As a Sly Cooper fan, I stand by that assessment.

Not gonna lie. I feel sorry for Bentley. He went through the most amount of suffering out of all the characters and still managed to come out a better person in the end. 1. Growing up without a family 2. Being too afraid to step out of the hideout 3. Learning to conquer his fear of the outside world 4. Busting his best friends out of prison in his own. 5. Facing one of the best boss battles in the entire franchise 6. Being crippled after an intense and emotional battle 7. Losing his best friend 8. Learning to cope with his disability 9. Reclaiming his best friend 10. Facing a dangerous animal that could easily kill him 11. Having his Thiefnet computer stolen 12. Finding love 13. Losing another best friend (due to faked amnesia) 14. Having his love leave him abruptly 15. Reuniting with his best friend 16. Traveling through time 17. Learning that the love of his life betrayed him leaving him heartbroken 18. Finding the courage to save his best friend from being killed by the love of his life 19. Later losing his best friend again due to a time warp That's a lot to take in.

Such a shame we will never see a Sly 5. The 4th game gave us even more of a taste of playing as Carmelita which I felt was a nice touch ever since sly 3. I feel one way or another Carmelita might have ended up joining the gang outright by some point in Sly 5, possibly when the law stopped her from dealing with a criminal case that got personal for her.

Ya, honestly considering how many criminals she brought in while still looking for Sly I'm not going to be surprise that every damn criminal is after her to shut her down for good. The cooper gang and their hideout could definitely be use as a place to lay low in case of emergency - beacuse honestly how is anyone going to guess that an international police agent is hiding with the most infamous international thieves - but mabye they can't get dirt on the criminals for many reasons (well besides the fact that their stealth expert is missing, that's the beacuse problem) and Carmelita would be force to go vigilante to take them down while looking through in the more top secret places to find Sly. Honestly a game with this concept could really expand on Carmelita in a few ways, explore her backstory, show her tactics in a more detail manner, and most importantly explore her inner conflict and relationship between herself and Sly and his gang, she's walking a tin shade of grey, she's an enforcer of the law yet she's teamed up with the most infamous criminal gang to take down crime and possibly covering for them, so it's really interesting to see how she would handle her moral compass.
First game gave us a taste near the end of what it would be like playing as Bentley and Murray. Second game gave us a chance to truly do that. Third game gave us more characters to play as. Fourth game... clue bottles that no one asked for.
Uhhmm the 4th game brought more story deepth and also allowed us to actualy free roam and play as Sly Cooper's Ancestors and play As Carmelita Fox in free roam and new cool treasures to collect and multiple ways to explore the world around with easter egg references from other and previous games?
Looking back on sly, he has that Ryan Reynolds Deadpool type of attitude and charm, also makes me realize why I loved the uncharted series so much later on, this game laid the groundwork
The Contessa's voice actress was Gloria Manon, who also played Mrs. Curtis in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (the Gene Wilder one, not the Johnny Depp one).
When Sly spoke out loud to himself after getting the walking stick and moon stone, they should have had him thinking those sentences, like inner mind dialogue instead of saying them out loud.
*sigh* I really do wish they had done one with Sly’s dad, and one with Henriette “one-eyed” Cooper, could’ve had a little rivalry with Carmelita just for the hey of it.
God this series was my childhood. I still adore it, tho I have no way to play them since I can only do pc rn. So sad there's no Sly 5! I'd love to at least have that, if not a good amount of new games to come out, tho it's probably too late for that.

I can't decide if I regret watching your video or not. For one, it is a well put together video that introduced me to a franchise that otherwise I barely knew about (because as a child I had no access to a console of any kind). On the other hand, I wish I hadn't spoiled it for myself.
You left out the cutscene where sly is caught with Carmelita at the end of sly 3. It's an important cutscene leading into sly 4. And the secret scene the leaves the story on a cliffhanger at the end of sly 4.
If you beat Tsao in battle by taking his last life with electrocution (triangle button followed by x button to electrocute with your cane), Tsao will turn into blue smoke, indicating that he died...despite being alive in the following cutscene.

I remember when Rango came out, it featured a population of anthropomorphic animals, one of which was a turtle confined to a wheelchair. I couldn't help but know that that had already been done better years before. As a Sly Cooper fan, I stand by that assessment.

I love that Jones is with Lefwee in the operation despite being one of the guards killed by Bentley & Penelope in the Dynamic Duo mission.
Not gonna lie. I feel sorry for Bentley. He went through the most amount of suffering out of all the characters and still managed to come out a better person in the end.

Such a shame we will never see a Sly 5. The 4th game gave us even more of a taste of playing as Carmelita which I felt was a nice touch ever since sly 3. I feel one way or another Carmelita might have ended up joining the gang outright by some point in Sly 5, possibly when the law stopped her from dealing with a criminal case that got personal for her.

Ya, honestly considering how many criminals she brought in while still looking for Sly I'm not going to be surprise that every damn criminal is after her to shut her down for good.
The cooper gang and their hideout could definitely be use as a place to lay low in case of emergency - beacuse honestly how is anyone going to guess that an international police agent is hiding with the most infamous international thieves - but mabye they can't get dirt on the criminals for many reasons (well besides the fact that their stealth expert is missing, that's the beacuse problem) and Carmelita would be force to go vigilante to take them down while looking through in the more top secret places to find Sly.
Honestly a game with this concept could really expand on Carmelita in a few ways, explore her backstory, show her tactics in a more detail manner, and most importantly explore her inner conflict and relationship between herself and Sly and his gang, she's walking a tin shade of grey, she's an enforcer of the law yet she's teamed up with the most infamous criminal gang to take down crime and possibly covering for them, so it's really interesting to see how she would handle her moral compass.

For those of you who don't already know this, when the Guru possesses a guard, press the square button to perform one of the guard's attacks.
First game gave us a taste near the end of what it would be like playing as Bentley and Murray. Second game gave us a chance to truly do that. Third game gave us more characters to play as. Fourth game... clue bottles that no one asked for.
Honestly, I thought it was weird that Sly 3 was missing the clue bottles. It's the only game that doesn't have them.
Uhhmm the 4th game brought more story deepth and also allowed us to actualy free roam and play as Sly Cooper's Ancestors and play As Carmelita Fox in free roam and new cool treasures to collect and multiple ways to explore the world around with easter egg references from other and previous games?
Looking back on sly, he has that Ryan Reynolds Deadpool type of attitude and charm, also makes me realize why I loved the uncharted series so much later on, this game laid the groundwork
Uncharted was made by Naughty Dog, the people who made Jak and Daxter. Sucker Punch made Sly Cooper.
I died as Bentley during the bar fight, but I fell on a life so he fell out the wheelchair and went back in.
The Contessa's voice actress was Gloria Manon, who also played Mrs. Curtis in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (the Gene Wilder one, not the Johnny Depp one).

When Sly spoke out loud to himself after getting the walking stick and moon stone, they should have had him thinking those sentences, like inner mind dialogue instead of saying them out loud.
The problem with the later sly cooper games is that there is so much organic dialogue you really can't afford to miss.
*sigh* I really do wish they had done one with Sly’s dad, and one with Henriette “one-eyed” Cooper, could’ve had a little rivalry with Carmelita just for the hey of it.

I can't decide if I regret watching your video or not. For one, it is a well put together video that introduced me to a franchise that otherwise I barely knew about (because as a child I had no access to a console of any kind). On the other hand, I wish I hadn't spoiled it for myself.

The commentator for the Toothpick brawl-a-thon sounded just like Tennessee.
You left out the cutscene where sly is caught with Carmelita at the end of sly 3. It's an important cutscene leading into sly 4. And the secret scene the leaves the story on a cliffhanger at the end of sly 4.
If you beat Tsao in battle by taking his last life with electrocution (triangle button followed by x button to electrocute with your cane), Tsao will turn into blue smoke, indicating that he died...despite being alive in the following cutscene.
