Similar thing happened to me while playing my own Forest Farm and watching simultaneously Gab's playthrough the second time. I went to the Feast of the Winter Star prepared with a sunflower for "my" secret friend Haley. It turned out my secret friend was actually Penny.
I remember my first Christmas festival on Stardew I had Vincent as my Secret Santa and he gave me a little shell he found at the beach. Some moments are just too pure❤
I am watching this a few streams behind where I am in my Stardew play through because I don’t want to many spoilers. I just experienced my first winter and I gave Clint a gold bar and Emily gave me a glow ring. I was a little disappointed, but it was fun nonetheless 😊
I started playing Stardew because of Gab and I have to say her luck is UNREAL. Im in winter and I dont have half the loot or even one rare event yet. Makes me laugh.
Yeah... I keep wanting to comment on it but I just don't because I know everyone else will have already. She is insanely lucky! But then, I'm used to having bad luck everywhere I go. :P I still find myself pondering.. "maybe it's being a recluse? getting lucky events instead of seeing villager events? maybe a name trigger? maybe clicking all the right buttons at all the right times?" XDD
people also fail to realize the game has preset events/drops. World seeds determine how many trains you get, the foragables on the 1st day, night events such as crop fairy, items at traveling cart, etc. You can find seeds that can give you the perfect setup for early game if you so choose. Gab literally just got lucky with her world seed having so many night events within the 1st year. I found a world seed that gave crop fairy day 1 of the 1st year with meteor and owl statue in the 1st month along with a 2nd meteor and witch in fall with a 2nd crop fairy in winter.

When you go to check the friendship levels with people if you click on them (click their names) it tells you what gift you gave them that they like or dislike

i'm another subscriber who bought the game after watching the first episode of your gameplay and i can relate so much to the "how do i improve my farm?" outside the game. it's so addicting but so relaxing at the same time
A few tips/reminders if stream!Gab hasn't done them yet: -you have 75 (!) mushrooms of one type, 900 sap (fertiliser galore yay!) and some stacks of other stuff are very big too -I think you have some artifacts in a chest that Gunther hasn't examined yet? -remember that the food you put in the fridges is automatically used when making dishes, so don't keep there stuff you don't wanna lose -remember to keep your slingshot filled with a bunch of rocks in case another train passes! -ancient fruits are, as far as I know, THE best regrowable fruits (afaik 2nd best is pineapple, 3rd blueberry). Also I strongly suggest you to use fertiliser on all the greenhouse seeds, you have plenty of sap. -remember to check the tv everyday again! -last tip: peach and pomegranade trees make pricey wine, you can grow them easily in vases in the borders around the soil in the greenhouse And also, thanks as always for making these hard days more bearable
Currently watching this at work as it’s a slow chill day in the library. Hard to believe you’re done with your first year and already in summer in year 2! This has been such a fun series to watch.

Fun fact: if you drink coffee and hop on the horse the horse gallops faster. I think this is a glitch from the early days that CA decided to leave in because it's both funny and helpful without really being an OP exploit.

In Stardew, time is money! The horse will help out a ton by getting to your destination faster when you don't use the minecart. Until you get the Obelisk the horse is essential

Little tip about fences: if you place two gates next to each other you will get a bigger gate to your fence. I find this useful on my own gameplay. And of course gotta say that I love the series!
It's super gratifying seeing other farmers discover and puzzle through the "wait...the sprinklers don't cover the whole greenhouse" problem I filled several pages of my notebook figuring it out, across several days at work
I can't believe the number of greenhouse squares is not equal to the squares watered by an iridium sprinkler. I have to have extra sprinklers staggered to overlap because the greenhouse isn't the right size. So everything's watered just fine now but the look of it makes me twitch every time I go in to harvest my ancient fruit and pineapple. So annoying!😅
I have 24 farm animals and making sure they have enough grass is a constant battle! And I hope to get another barn with ostriches, so the battle continues. If you place a lightning rod on top of a patch of grass, the animals can't eat that piece and it will continue to grow
Faster = More Money, cause spending time wisely is the most important thing on SV. That's why people insist on the horse and coffee, they are a game changer. Love watching Goobers! 💕🇧🇷
you can get robin yo build you an inventory sell bin that you can put anywhere on the farm so you dont have to keep going to the one beside the mailbox, it saves time :)

You can go to robin and put more shipping bins on your farm for 250g and 150 wood, it’s helpful to put near your greenhouse, barn, coop or on the other side of your farm so you don’t have to waste time walking over to the only shipping bin to sell something you forgot to lol it’s pretty cheap and helpful, but I’d definitely prioritize barn, coop, and house upgrades over it :) Also, get shears from marnie for your sheep!!!
The horse is so useful! It may not directly make you money but it means you can get everything done so much faster so it allows you to make more money more efficiently

If you want to be efficient a horse is still worth it for getting around town itself, unless you want to drink coffee the entire time. Coffee speed boost also affects the horse too so you zip pretty fast and can get to one side of town in under a game hour rather than two hours.
It's definitely not just 1.15 update because I'm playing a brand new game (bc gab made it look so fun!) And I've had none of these amazing drops haha. Gab is so lucky!!

my mom was put in the hospital bc of her appendix and had to have surgery, im stressed out bc of the big C, work an school and legit whenever gabs uploads a SV video it feels like all's good in the world.
To cook the Seafoam Pudding, the best fishing recipe (+4 IIRC) you'll need Flounder, Midnight Carp, and Squids (specifically for their ink.) I recommend raising these species in your fish ponds, as well as sturgeon for profits, and eels and largemouth bass for more recipes with tons of energy, and the spicy eel will also give you a speed buff. Snails and garlic make escargot. No buffs for the food, just sell it for profit if you don't find a townsperson who likes the stuff. (But it looks like chat helped in this area.)

you have the most luck when it comes to the events during the night- i started playing the game after you and im just about to start summer year 2 and the only event i ever had was the owl statue *once* during spring or summer year 1
I think a day or two before this episode came out is when I finished what was on TH-cam (at that point) so I went to twitch to watch the streams so I could keep watching, and after getting completely caught up going back to watch the couple new TH-cam episodes is strange because I didn't realize just how much had changed that I'd forgotten hadn't already happened yet

If you wanna try for super crops again, you can try continuing to water matured crops in the same alignment each day you will still have a chance, I don't know an exact time frame for how long it could take but I'de guess a week? but if it no super crop ide just harvest then try again ;3 here's hoping for super crops!!!

Not too far behind in the year of farming, but definitely not quite as lucky. But one thing I did get I didn't know of was a tree sized red mushroom showed up on my farm that I chopped down & got several regular sized red mushrooms. :) Still loving your Stardew playthrough & it's neat to see the different decisions we all make.
You might want to place a lightning rod in the middle of the grass...it used to glitch grass so animals cant eat the last of it. Not sure if this still works. Worth a shot.

- If you plant a couple grass pieces on the last day of the season, they grow big patches the next day for hay (last day of winter is super effective)

Hey Gab there is a way to cast your rod sideways by using WASD while casting, use this to reach bubbles which are in a angle hope u see this :)

I recommend raising these species in your fish ponds, as well as sturgeon for profits, and eels and largemouth bass for more recipes with tons of energy, and the spicy eel will also give you a speed buff.
Snails and garlic make escargot. No buffs for the food, just sell it for profit if you don't find a townsperson who likes the stuff. (But it looks like chat helped in this area.)

I think a day or two before this episode came out is when I finished what was on TH-cam (at that point) so I went to twitch to watch the streams so I could keep watching, and after getting completely caught up going back to watch the couple new TH-cam episodes is strange because I didn't realize just how much had changed that I'd forgotten hadn't already happened yet

If you wanna try for super crops again, you can try continuing to water matured crops in the same alignment each day you will still have a chance, I don't know an exact time frame for how long it could take but I'de guess a week? but if it no super crop ide just harvest then try again ;3 here's hoping for super crops!!!

Not too far behind in the year of farming, but definitely not quite as lucky. But one thing I did get I didn't know of was a tree sized red mushroom showed up on my farm that I chopped down & got several regular sized red mushrooms. :) Still loving your Stardew playthrough & it's neat to see the different decisions we all make.
You might want to place a lightning rod in the middle of the grass...it used to glitch grass so animals cant eat the last of it. Not sure if this still works. Worth a shot.
